I understand people wanting their own child. But, the Oba femi Nigerian professional wrestler and former shot putter T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this world has changed so much from needing to populate the earth and extend our bloodlines into a world where we are overpopulated and the concern is about those people who are currently on born (rather than making more). I don’t think I would enjoy motherhood. I’ve done a lot of growing and healing from my childhood. I’ve taken on a lot of mentorship type roles. I love kids and do some volunteer work with them. I have even been told I would be a good mother. I just know what being a parent, especially a mother, requires, and I don’t want to do that. I moved across the country and went to grad school. My job is pretty demanding, but honestly, I feel like most jobs are these days. I’m very active, I work out about 3-4 times a week. I’m working on my Spanish, I’m even reading my first book in Spanish. I volunteer. I go to concerts. I live in a great city where you can meet all kinds of people. I travel a good amount. I don’t feel like my life is missing anything. I’m in a really good position where if I wanted to make something happen, I could. I don’t have to worry about how it would affect my kids. I can just follow all my dreams or even just random little whims I may have. I love my life. I want to do stuff and I barely have energy to do stuff now, how will I be able to do anything if I have children? And give up my sleep? Nope. My sister suffered sleep deprivation for 6 months with her first kid. “It’s only 6 months for a lifetime of a wonderful child!” you say. It’s literally a form of torture.

Giving birth and permanently damage my body? Hm no. Nearly every women I know who’s given birth has either physical or mental issues or both around their body after giving birth. I know multiple who had surgery years later. I’m not with anyone rn and unfortunately it seems extremely difficult to meet a man that would make me consider having a child with him. To make me think it would be a true partnership and not ending up taking it all on by myself because mothers become the default parents. I know you inevitably get through the baby and toddler stages, and those are absolutely amazing stages of life, but I can’t have a kid and be thinking “ohh i just have to get through these first 5-12-16-20 years and then I can relax a little” every single day. Number 1 is I don’t ever want to be pregnant. No 2 is I’d need the most amazing partner in the world. And 3 I really really love sleeping and relaxing and I’d have to give that up for 2 years straight and probably longer, maybe forever.
