I’m with an absolutely AMAZING woman right now, who definitely struggles with this a LOT, but is well aware of how frustrating it can be. For a while it was typical for us to not end up eating at all, because she would veto everything, give no suggestions and we would spend up to 2-3 hours where I would keep trying to get us to make a decision, and she would just keep changing the Nuff respect design shirt Also,I will get this subject and talking about her work or the day, or trying to make plans. It was infuriating. We sort of have a system that works now, but only because she is aware that to some extent I have to be an asshole after 15-20 minutes, or nothing will get done. Basically I ask her what she wants about 15-20 minutes before she gets off work so she has time to consider it. I usually will give a series of suggestions based solely on what I want (usually about 3), and/or give a description of the type of food I’m looking for (i.e. “I’m really craving something like Mexican”, or “I’m in the mood for something lighter, like a salad or fish”). I do what I want, because I ultimately learned I can’t guess what she wants, and even if it is something she’s wanting, the very act of me suggesting it will often turn her off to it. At least giving her my information she has that information to work with and it gets her mind thinking outside the box of things she would consider when thinking what she wants. I ask her to try to do the same, but nine times out of ten she gives me absolutely nothing.

When she gets home I will usually try a few suggestions of things I know she likes, but hasn’t gotten in a while, just in case it’s something she isn’t considering. Then I give her another 15-20 minutes, just to see if she has thought of anything at all. Then after that I make an assessment if it looks like she is narrowing in on anything at all, best I can usually hope for at this point is “This food sounds good, but I don’t want it because of this”. If I have some information like that, I can usually think of something that satisfies at least one of her conditions. But if she doesn’t give me anything by this point, I will just order or make something I want, and order/make something on the Nuff respect design shirt Also,I will get this side I know she will eat. I often have to claim I ordered/made it for me, because she will get mad that I wasted money on something she didn’t actually want, but this is enough to at least get us fed by the end of the night.
