This x1000. We found a local, no-name inland grocer and it had the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this absolute best poke. We made DIY bowls every afternoon. I don’t know what the prices are today but I remember it being pretty affordable a few years back. Absolutely worth it. I’ve only been to the Caribbean and coasts of Italy, England and the US to compare so no Maldives or Greece or anything but will say as expensive as Hawaii is, it’s so worth and then some. I can’t wait to go back My husband and I been traveling for close to a year now after living in Hawaii for several years. We’ve been to many popular tropical and surf destinations like the Gold Coast, Dunedin NZ, Canggu, Uluwatu and Lombok, Krabi and Phuket, Tenerife, Okinawa, Siargao, Sicily etc and tbh nothing compares to Hawaii. Hawaii is expensive af but it’s worth every penny imo, even more so after having been to all these places and feeling slightly disappointed (mostly in the surf breaks). I would say Gold Coast was probably the only place out of them all where we’d consider living in over Hawaii.

Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt: Show Your Love with Style

Every time I take a hot winter vacation and don’t choose Hawaii, I find myself thinking “I should’ve gone to Hawaii.” Yep, agreed! Every time I land in Hawaii, I’m so happy I decided to go. There’s something in the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this islands that’s magical. Living on the west coast and frequently being able to get airfare for < $500 for a direct flight makes it kind of a no brainer winter getaway. The only downside is lodging and food have gotten really expensive (though I think this is the case about everywhere anymore). I can't believe this is the only comment I've found in this thread that mentions Australian beaches. I know I'm biased as an Australian but I've spent about two years travelling Asia and Latin America, very very few beaches are on par let alone better than Australian equivalents. (Oaxaca does have some fantastic beaches though). Could just be what I value in a beach though, quality of sand, average temps, not being overcrowded, clean water…
We are the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this only ones out of our friends and family (americans) who have been to Australia lol. Maybe the lack of mention is due to the distance from most countries? We absolutely loved Australia though. We only stayed in the Gold Coast area but we want to go back and stay a month or two and really explore the other areas. It is honestly the only place from our travels that we thought was on par with Hawaii. We went sunrise surfing every morning and saw whales and dolphins most days. Plus the turquoise waters and the cotton candy pink skies as the sun came up was just pure bliss. Oh and the food and coffee was unmatched also!! Seychelles beaches are insane and definitely once in a lifetime. Here are a couple of the negative considerations that differ greatly from Hawaiii, because the positives are quite obvious. Travel time from the US is approximately 23 hours in-flight. Our total travel time one-way was 33 hours, 10 of which was spent in airports during layovers. The best way to get there is through Addis Ababa, Ethiopia if you’re flying from the US. Not many airports connect to Mahe, the main island with the airport. It’s going to be significantly more expensive than Hawaii. Like at least quadruple if I had to ballpark all costs (accomodations, food/bev, and airfare). Food is my one gripe with the Seychelles. Most of the cheap food was sketchy and the decent food was wildly expensive. Like a margarita pizza at a decent restaurant will run you $40 USD and a burger was about $50 USD. We didn’t eat meat like at all, mostly local seafood which i personally don’t mind. I got the worst food poisoning of my life there at a local cheap restaurant. Be careful what you eat there and travel outside of the monsoon season to ensure good weather.

If your American, Hawaii is still America after all. It’s not exotic like the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this Seychelles or maldives so if you’re trying to scratch that itch, then do it! Seychelles are only that expensive if you insist on eating in the most expensive restaurants. Hawaii has no cheap options at all, the Seychelles go as low as $3 for a meal. A large Samosa in a supermarket will cost you like 30 cent. I stayed in a guest house for 65$ the first time I was there. It was clean, spacious and close to the beach. Hawaii’s beaches are incredible. Big beach on Maui was my favorite, but if you are going to Hawaii, I think you will quickly find that you will want to do so so much more than the beach. Big Island is BIG. Kona side was absolutely incredible to walk around and probably your best bet for beaches. Hilo side was great for waterfalls and lava tubes, try some Loco Moco!
Oahu was a mix of everything (touristy, expensive, watered-down but still absolutely amazing). Pearl Harbor is a must, and Koko Head is this really nice and easy hike that you will not regret, 10/10 at 0 point did I want to curl in a ball and cry. Also if you want to go to multiple islands you either have to do a normal airport experience to each island, or do NCL but then you are stuck to their schedules (it’s an okay schedule but you will not be able to do Hana and Haleakala for example) I had just gone to French Polynesia a few months prior to Hawaii, and was disappointed with Hawaii. I’d rather save up and go to French Polynesia every three years than go to Hawaii every year. Hawaii is beautiful, but to me, it didn’t give off the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this tropical paradise feeling. Honestly, it’s commercialized (and I know I’m going to get hate for saying that.) The locals aren’t the friendliest, there’s traffic, a good amount of homeless, etc. Idk, paradise to me doesn’t include having a Costco, Target, McDonald’s, Walmart, etc. nearby. Again though, Hawaii was beautiful, and I’ll be back, but I’d choose French Polynesia any day.
I want to add too that I wasn’t fond of Tahiti, but loved Mo’orea and Bora Bora. I’ve also heard great things about Rarotonga and Cook Islands. Also, you can’t really compare Hawaii to Maldives, Greece, and some other places. Each of those places have their own individual charm. Maldives is a clear winner compared to Hawaii if you want something very isolated with stunning resorts, beautiful water, and good snorkeling. But if you want more things to do like hiking, surfing, shopping, you’re not going to choose Maldives over Hawaii. Overall though if you are looking at something very similar to Hawaii, Mo’orea is the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this answer. I would say Bora Bora but that’s in a whole different ballpark. Of course not or else I wouldn’t be doing a thorough comparison. However, I have only been to Oahu and Kauai. I would love to explore the other islands someday. So far, my favorite has been North Shore, Oahu. There’s so much more than beaches. Kauai is adventurous amazing trails the great canyon of the pacific is there it looks like a picture in front of you unreal, Napali coast and dolphin swimming whales etc. Big Island is big free and empty so you get to enjoy your time away from the crowds also volcano national park and Mauna Kea sunset, Maui for Haleakala sunrise and the road to Hana stops to truly enjoy waterfalls, clear water, scuba diving, swimming with turtles.
It’s expensive but you can do it for cheap if you are willing to cook or eat as locals do in the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this small shops which I recommend. Anyone who compares Hawaii to French Polynesia is comparing two different things. If you want all inclusive or bungalow just go to Caribbean or Mexico and save money for same service and not get charged 29 dollars a cocktail like you are in Ibiza or Mykonos listening to Armin. Is it beautiful absolutely yes but you are stuck in there with just a couple of activities. Hawaii is just more free and something for everyone and crowd If a regular that can make it out often like from the west coast I think a week per island. If once in a lifetime trip I would still say a week big island and other islands 3-4 days. Not sure how you can enjoy volcano and Mauna Kea and manta rays and all the beaches in 3 days for big island. I’ve noticed that people think “world class” means the beaches far from them. A lot of places (think bars and restaurants) in Greece are named after places in Hawaii, Tahiti, or such.
You need to understand that point of views really differ. I live in Germany at the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this moment, and people talk about Mallorca as if it were crowded and trashy, when it’s probably some gem of an unexplored island in the U.S. And to answer your question, in a lot of ways, yes. The best beach is all subjective, but it really depends on what you like. I really pay attention to the color of water for example. And Hawaiian beaches don’t offer the bright bright turquoise that a few Greek beaches do. That doesn’t make Hawaiian beaches inferior. And they do have some bright turquoise water, but not the same ways Greece does. But the same could be said about other really big Destinations, like Gran Canaria — where the water isn’t really turquoise at all.
Hawaii is more volcanic than those other places you listed, so that means a few things. Most of Hawaii is large mountains, which make for fantastic views. Those mountains are covered in rainforest and have some interesting hiking trails. It also means that most of the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this coastlines are rocky and not great for swimming. But all the resorts will have at least a small area where you can walk in the water and swim. Hawaii is worth it to see the nature and culture paired with some nice beaches. But if you just want to lay on the sand and swim for a week, I’d save some money and do the Caribbean or Florida. Sorry but could not disagree with you more. I was stationed on Oahu for three years…. also in Florida. Hawaii has some of the best diving/snorkeling/swimming I have ever experienced. My family and I went to dozens of beaches, and swam at virtually every single one. Not sure what you are talking about.
Snorkeling and diving are different from the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this soft sand beaches that I think most people envision. And I even said in my post that these do exist in Hawaii. But if you go somewhere like Turks and Caicos or Dominican Republic, every beach is soft sand with gentle waves and no sharp volcanic rocks. You don’t have any rocky areas or cliffs. Many of the beaches aren’t rocky. It’s almost like you haven’t been there. I’ve been to Hawaii, Florida, the Caribbean and Mexico. None of them compare to Hawaii for beaches with snorkeling off shore. You can literally walk off the beach and get excellent snorkeling in many places. The beaches are gorgeous. Ranging from white to black sand. You can drive down the road and see ocean for miles. People pull over climb over the railing and surf. There’s more beaches that suck than good ones. Sandy beaches are way better in the Caribbean. And the water is way too cold in Hawaii.
Water in Hawaii is definitely colder than the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this Caribbean at all times of the year. Maybe that’s fine for you, but other people might want warmer. I find most beaches along the gulf or Atlantic boring. You can sit on the beach, but that’s about it. There’s not much else to do in the way of good snorkeling or tide pooling like on the Pacific frankly. Again, I literally said that there are plenty of sandy beaches in Hawaii. But you don’t get areas like this You do know there are volcanic islands in the Caribbean don’t you? It’s not just Jamaica and all inclusive. Where exactly have you been? Huh. I’d definitely say the diving and snorkeling in Hawaii is generally not as good as many parts of the Caribbean. I love Hawaii… but those are the weaker spots for me. Been to Hawaii and Florida, and I also thought the beach experience was better in Florida if you’re going strictly for the beach. Like you said, overall experience Hawaii is amazing. The beaches in Florida are boring. And often you can’t see the ocean from the road in many places or there are there enormous parking monstrosities. The sand is nice and fluffy but Hawaii beaches were some of the most impressive in the world to me. I’ve reached the conclusion that they’re only popular beaches they’re cheap.
Did you goto North of Barcelona? I heard the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this beaches are ok there. Wanted a beach to chill in Europe that is close in that area. Any reccs? Yeah also they have stingrays. Was not a good experience. Would not reccomend. (Stepping on a stingray that is) Many tropical beaches (Varadero Cuba) are made of coral – looks pretty and white but often is rather rough on the feet. Hawaii has “proper” sand beaches, at least the ones I saw. Nice color too. Mediterranean beaches are also nice and sandy, but the weather especially in summer is just oppressive: dry oven. Some beaches in volcanic regions (Indonesia) have interesting colors, but might get very hot. My dad is a pilot and has been to all 7 continents and a lot of very unusual places. He claims that Hawaii is the nicest beach you can find. He says Tahiti and Bora Bora etc are just Hawaii but they take longer to get to. I myself have been to 25 countries and the only other beach nicer than Hawaii is on the Whitsunday islands – which takes 15 hours from LAX and a long boat trip to get to.
We go to Hawaii once or twice a year and it is consistently a great vacation. It can be super cheap if you do it right. We paid $200 for round trip flights to Kona recently. You know what you’re getting in Hawaii. There will be any food you want need, cheap groceries at Walmart. Good time had by all every single time. But it does not compare to Bora-Bora. It does not compare to leaving the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this country and getting a more cultural experience. You’re not stepping out of your comfort bubble going to Hawaii. So really, it depends on what you’re looking for in your vacation. Hawaii is more convenient for US travelers and more expensive. The experience is not the same as Maldives/tahiti/Seychelles – these islands provide overwater resorts and sense of remoteness etc, while Hawaii is very much American with American amenities like strip malls right outside your resort.
I had a British guy argue with me that Bali is better. Bali is not even 10% close to what Hawaii has to offer, like someone else said only Tahiti would come close and it’s more humid there. I’ve been to all the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this islands and they all hold a special place to me and I keep going back. Meanwhile although it was stunning I’m not sure I would return to Bora Bora due to me having to fly past Hawaii to even get there Edit: Because Hawaii is a part of the United States. Yes, I understand it’s very different. I’ve been there many, many times. I understand the difference. It was just funny to me that someone suggested one should leave the United States and go to Hawaii if they’ve never left the United States. It was just funny to me. But it ain’t that deep.
Why would this be a joke? Guys never left the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this country, he should go experience a different culture. This is not intended to be any sort of political statement and I’m shocked anyone on r/travel would disagree. I’ve left the country; done a lot of the Caribbean, Mexico, and Canada. I just haven’t left the continent technically. Because Hawaii is part of the United States. And suggesting someone should go to Hawaii if they’ve never left the country before was funny to me. So I didn’t know if they were joking or not. I am not suggesting he goes to Hawaii. In fact I am suggesting he does not go to Hawaii. Read the entire OP not just the title. If you have never traveled to every state in the United States I suggest you do it. Incredibly large and diverse country. Don’t throw shade on people for not having the ability to travel the world. I’m not throwing shade on anyone. This OP is already deliberating travelling to Hawaii vs Greece vs the Maldives. They appear to have the means to do whatever they want. Not sure where you are from but I’m tired of people telling americans they should travel more. The united states is the size of Europe going state to state is a huge deal. Shit is so expensive there an international flight is out of the question for most. Europeans can take a train. It is just bullshit to call them out. I’ve never been to any other world class beaches but my trip to Oahu was magical. I know that sounds corny but it was an experience that will be hard to top with future travel.
I’m clearly in the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this minority based on the other responses but I thought Hawaii was kind of a let down. The whole time I was there last year, I was thinking how I’d rather be somewhere like Ecuador or Costa Rica. It also rained the entire time we were there. We didn’t go for beaches though, we went for the National Parks. I felt this as well. I’m going again to give it another chance, but even as a 12 year old, Kona felt devoid of culture in a sad way. I loved Tahiti and the beaches were amazing but I was on a sailing trip so I wasn’t stuck on one island. Greece and the Mediterranean ain’t a beach place. They have seaside stuff but lots of it is beach clubs or pebble beaches instead of sand. I haven’t been to the other destinations but the locals in Hawaii ruin the experience tbh. They rival France’s reputation in rudeness.
I’ve been to a lot of world beaches and Hawaii… regardless of the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this Island, is the very best in the world. The best. I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns. Hawaii is worth it definitely a world class destination i think all should experience at least once. For that reason it’s expensive. Both to get to and to reside at there are much cheaper options for the majority of people living in the US (aside from the west coast) in the Caribbean. i would assume Hawaii makes most people feel “safer” because it’s in the US. As well as doesn’t require a passport. I don’t really care to spend that much and still be in the states as opposed to something entirely new again though. But that’s just me personally. I grew up in Okinawa Japan so i guess at that point in my life (which is when i also went to Hawaii) it felt like more of the same. I’ll go again at some point. No real rush.
As good as any place I have been. Ofc I have not been to the Northern Savages Detroit Lions Jared Goff #16 Shirt also I will do this Maldives or Seychelles but have been to Bali, Lombok, Southern Thai Islands, Australia, NZ, and others. And when the Surf is up on the south facing shores it’s unbelievably intoxicating. I think my endorphins did not recede until I went to sleep after experiencing a 4-6 ft south shore swell day. my old boss loved to scuba in Hawaii, and his comment was if there was ever an accident the hospitals were better there than the other places If we’re talking world class beaches, there are definitely some Caribbean destinations that belong high on the list also. Weather in Hawaii: consistent rainfall patterns mean you pick a side of the island where it doesn’t rain, and it won’t rain. Hard to find that in the Caribbean where there tends to be seasonal weather patterns. Maybe Barbados. In Hawaii it tends to be consistently around 25 Celsius which beats 30 Celsius but you might feel differently.
