And they had/have a big model truck/trailers that kids can climb in, play with and watch TV while their good cooks. What’s not to love? Evey time we’d say “Hmm, shall we go out for tea today? Or get a takeaway? (This was pre austerity, we had disposable income!). Son would pipe up” Oh, please can we go to Truckhaven? PLEEEEEASE? ” I still remember how scandalous it was to hear a teacher say “shit” when she accidentally wrote on the new smart board with a whiteboard pen. This was the early 2000s.

We had a science teacher (early 2000’s) who told us AIDS stood for Arse Injected Death Sentence. Not necessarily hilarious, but it stuck in my mind.

I watch these things alone. I have comforting things around me. I pause when I need to pause. I find it also helps to create an environment that feels safe for crying. Get comfy or go for a walk in the woods.
