I think this is in part due to doctors being more willing now to prescribe oral antibiotics. In a nearly all cases that will clear up acne very quickly, and if it returns a short repeat will usually stop it before it starts again. The only thing I remember using was some weird scrub and acne spot treatment thingy, both shitty drugstore brand… not great. And I could never be bothered to use foundation either because of how awful it felt on my skin (again, shitty drugstore brand). Teens today can just Google “skincare routine” and get a fairly good idea what types of products to use / where to get them. And brands like The Ordinary or The INKEY List don’t cost a fortune!
