I think this is a fantastic explanation. It baffling how many comments I’ve seen saying “wow they were just trying to be nice.” It makes you think those people are probably wandering around being douchebags without even the No I Don’t Think Reading A Book 5th Time Is Stupid It’s Awesome Black cat shirt moreover I love this slightest self awareness. So he thought you had your lens cap on, watched for who knows how long, and didn’t tell you until way later? What a dick. When I first read this, I thought of my grandpa, an old man who loves to joke around and have fun. I may be the only one, but, I don’t see this as infuriating, I just thought the dude was trying to share a laugh over something that is, normally, a silly mistake. how would she even be able to take multiple pictures lmao she would have noticed after the first shot obviously. so he didn’t factor into any logic, just saw “black = lens cover”

Just tell them it’s a new type of camera that lets you take pictures with the No I Don’t Think Reading A Book 5th Time Is Stupid It’s Awesome Black cat shirt moreover I love this cap on to protect the lens from dirt and dust while shooting outside. You have an opportunity to explain what it is and introduce them to photography. It’s your chance to be an Ambassador for photography. We need all the friends and participants that we can get in our field. There are people who are bad at communicating and don’t know how to express themselves without coming across as a horse’s rear end. Be on the right side of the equation. How is that infuriating? I’m a photographer too, and have had the same thing happen, I just take it as an opportunity to happily geek out about my camera stuff. If I got irritated every time someone though my ND filters were lens caps it be a miserable life. Lol they could have cataracts or glaucoma…but still it’s hilarious when ppl try to explain something to a literal expert
