I feel like I don’t have the Nirvanna shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this words or ability to explain my feelings in other words. I’ve told her that it feels like I’m not being listened to, that it adds mental exhaustion when she takes on a task that I didn’t ask her to. I understand what she’s trying to do and it’s very kind, but she’s willfully disregarding what I’m directly telling her and it’s beginning to feel very invalidating. She still says she doesn’t understand why I’m feeling this way. Is the way I’m feeling wrong? What would you say in this situation? How do I balance telling her what I’m feeling(especially when she asks), and not making her feel responsible for the fixes? EDIT: So to clear up some messages and comments I’m getting: A) I’m also a woman, so not an “emotionally immature man”. Maybe look past outdated sex roles when you consider feelings? B) This isn’t about the laundry, it’s about the feelings I have over connection and communication. I’m looking to commiserate over things we both struggle with, not guilt her into action.

C) If I have feelings on anything, she WILL pick up on it. We are both from abusive/neglectful situations (respectfully) and she has asked for open communication on feelings, and I work to give her that security, but then I feel that I’m in the Nirvanna shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this position of “damned if I say something damned if I don’t” because if I withhold my frustration she’s anxious, and if I tell her how I feel she tries to fix it or give me advice. I don’t want her to feel responsible for my emotions. Genuine thank you to all the comments. I obviously am having trouble navigating feelings and communication right now so that you for your time to weigh in here.There’s a whole stereotype about “fixers,” so it’s hard to say what you are feeling is wrong, but it’s certainly unintuitive for me, and I guess people like me.
