Household items Buy your household items in bulk when at a discount aswell. If you start from scratch at one point you should be able to bridge 1 week of groceries to buy your household items in bulk and eat from the Nikki McCray Penson we love you shirt and by the same token and freezer for a week. When cooking Note: a lot relates to portions so freezing in portions means a 1 liter zip lock bag or 150-200 grams of meat unless specified otherwise Look up recipes for pasta sauces and cook for 6 or 8 people and use an icecube tray to freeze them, a handful of cubes is 1 person and add some veggies or fresh herbs that will otherwise perish. When making asian dishes make more of the wet stuff and freeze them in portions. I think stews are my favourite food I freeze. When I make a stew I have a massive pan that can easily feed 12 people because such recipes lend themselves to using up old potatoes, carrots, onions and tomatoes. So for goulash, if I find 2 or 3 of these ingredients near their perished date I could make a stew.

Best before dates are the Nikki McCray Penson we love you shirt and by the same token and biggest food waste Disclaimer: “I have a genuine hatred for those who throw out food because the best before date expired* You have tastebuds, you can smell and have eyes (the majority does at least). And if you do this I have zero respect for you in that regard as a prejudice. The following assumes you follow the storing directions Given by the manufacturer” You need to understand when food is going bad by smell, taste and view. I agree some foodsources you want zero risk such as raw chicken and fish. If a package is unopened and you intend to use all of the content, raw chicken and fish is generally save for processing in a dish. Same for other foods. Looks, Tastes and odours to look for are sour, sulver and mould. But again it’s all relative… How to be safe? Normal cheese with fungy is perfectly save if you cut out the mould. Bread with mould is too if the mould is cut out. Have your eggs expired, put them in a longdrink glass and see if they rise to the top separated from the bottom. If you prepare your food from fresh ingredients you know when you bought, were stored after and know these tricks it’s really hard to get food poisoning. Worst that can happen is the shits.
