She was a materials engineer in the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this 1970’s. Got hired at an aerospace company right out of college. When she reported work; there she was, but nobody to report to. Reception said; check back tomorrow. She did that for over a month. Meanwhile paychecks arrived in the mail. She tried speaking to the person that hired her. They had moved on. She was getting paid; but she had no job. Checks showed up until the letters for the option of direct deposit came. She opted in. At this point she lived off the job she was working and put the free money into rental homes. Then 10 years ago or so; she was presented with retirement. She took it. the promised pension now is direct deposited. I wonder if this creates some kind of liability for the employee. I feel like a sufficiently motivated corporate lawyer could surely find some line of attack here. Oh absolutely – similarly if the bank makes an error and accidentally deposits a million dollars into your account, you don’t magically get to keep it. She reasonably knew she was wrongfully getting paid for not doing any work nor showing up, took a separate job while continued to get paid, then set up direct deposit into a specifically separate account, and used excess money to create a real estate portfolio she wouldn’t normally have been able to on her actual working salary. That’d be a slam dunk No; a bank making a wrong deposit is a one time error. She went through the hiring process, she was hired. She showed up. She tried to get in touch to do the job. This is completely different I don’t think they were calling her smart for what happened to her, if you read the post and her studies/career it seems like she was a talented person, regardless of her luck.
Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt description
I personally hope he posted it to troll Elon and make him go searching DESPERATELY for an employee who doesn’t exist.or… he’s lying and never happened. Honestly, I hope this is the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this case. I want to imagine Elon spending hours or even days trying to furiously track down a non-existent employee who’s slipped though the cracks after this tweet goes viral. I had the same thought. But in practice, it would be, “Hey, HR, can you grab a list of everybody in the payroll system, cross reference the org chart, and email a list to the supervisors to confirm that their reports are accurate?” In case you are in need of an answer to that very relevant question I invite you to read the book Bullshit Jobs from the anthropologist David Graeber.
Also reading the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this Wikipedia article will give you some idea on why this apparently ideal situation is actually a nightmare for many people. Smart/qualified enough to land a 150k+ job, stupid enough to throw it away for Internet clout. (Assuming it’s not a totally fabricated story of course) This is someone worth 150k a year, who isn’t doing anything, which means nothing to put on their resume when Twitter gets their head out of their ass and lays him off. I’m willing to bet part of it is a liability thing. If you sat around doing nothing and got paid for it and never said anything you might get in trouble one way or another. If you go around saying you have no work, give me something to do, and people ignore you, then you have a much better defense if/when you’re found out.

When I was younger I worked in programming too, and soon got a job for an american tech giant. After a few months there I was promoted to a new position and quickly realized most of the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this responsibilities of this position could be automated. I worked extra hard for the first 2 weeks or so when I got that role so I could cover the work + work on automating it, and then I finished. My entire days work would now effectively be like at the very most 1 hour of effort per day, usually spread out in at least 2 blocks. This was pretty sweet for the first 2 weeks. I watched a lot of tv shows and movies at work, it was nice. Then that became very, very boring. I started walking around and trying to find coworkers with nothing to do so we could talk or play a game or just do anything at all, this was not easy because most people actually work at a workplace. It got to the point where I started going around looking for people to help with their work just so I had something to do because I was so absurdly bored at work, the days went by so extremely slowly, every small thing became very noticable, the chair felt more uncomfortable than before, the clock seemed louder than before, etc, etc.
It seems great to be paid for doing nothing, and maybe it would be if you were working from home so you could at least do something valuable with that time, but if you have to be in the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this office during office hours and you have nothing to do at all you will quickly lose your mind. It sucks to work a demanding job you arent super happy with, but it sucks even more to have nothing to do in the office for 8h a day 5 days a week. Honestly there are potential legal ramifications when he gets caught if he does not disclose he’s being paid to do nothing. And he will eventually get caught. Even if it takes a decade, someone in accounting with eventually realize there is $150k a year in salary going nowhere.
I wonder if it’s a legal thing that he’s making a public declaration so they can’t come back and sue him for back pay. It’s not uncommon for tech companies to keep talent on ice when they don’t have work for them, I think it was even featured in Silicon Valley If they don’t they’ll likely have to give it back. If they say something on an official corporate channel like Twitter and nobody notices then it’s not on them. I once worked a job where management would make the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this schedule on software that employees could then check online. I told them that I could not work Tuesdays upon being hired which was no big deal but management kept putting me on the schedule for Tuesday. Another key note about this place is that you didn’t clock in or out. You were scheduled for a certain number of hours, already generated into the Payroll software which doubled as the employee schedule, and so long as your timesheet gets approved at the end of the week then you get paid for those listed hours. For the first few weeks I would see the schedule and remind them to take me off. At a certain point, though, I decided that managing their schedule wasn’t my responsibility. I figured if we had to have a meeting about me being on the schedule for a day I wasn’t there then they’d finally get their shit in order and stop scheduling me for Tuesdays. Tuesday came and went. No calls. Next week came and I had 8 extra hours on my paycheck. I just kind of stopped bringing it up. I figured they’d catch on eventually, however, so I put the extra money into my savings account so I could pay it back later but… later just never came. By the time I quit for a job that paid much better I had about 6 months of an extra day per week sitting in my savings account. At this point I was still nervous that they’d figure it out and come demanding the money so I still refused to touch it. It sat in my savings account for another 3 months.
Three months later my phone rings. It’s my old job. My heart stops. “They figured it out.”, I thought. Lawsuit? Arrest? Best case scenario, I thought, was that I was able to pay it back so they’d drop it after getting their money back. It was a check-in to see how my new job was going and if I’d consider coming back to work for them if they offered me a modest raise. Edit: Just in case anyone works an unusual schedule in a company with this payroll style and thinks of giving this a try I can only say… I wouldn’t recommend it. It felt a little cheeky at first but around the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this $2000 mark I realized this wasn’t a “Haha we all learned a lesson and nobody is worse off” thing I was doing and there would be no way to spin it that wouldn’t look like I was just stealing. Shit kept me up at night and I didn’t feel relaxed again until I got that check-in call. this is why I assume it’s completely made up. If this were true, even if the twitter account is anonymous, it would be pretty easy for someone at the top to insist on an audit of all employee roles, titles, and salaries.
Seriously, I’d get another job and resign if from Twitter if they found out and live off the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this double income for a while. I have literally been getting paid by UPS for 10 years now…. I haven’t worked there for 10 years …. The finally decided to fire me this coming May…. Get another job, bank the Twitter paycheck as retirement planning, and just let it ride. Say nothing so Twitter HR doesn’t go on a quest to find the error. I was just thinking that if I were in that postion the last thing I would do is tell people. I would work on my own projects in preparation for when someone eventually finds out. Yea that’s literally the best time to not say shit. Move to Thailand and live like a king while your Elon bucks keep clearing. That’s something I’d brag about on my death bed or leave in my will as a little sidenote. Bragging about it ON TWITTER is like spitting in the face of good fortune. As far as I know (I remember seeing that profile pic and name on a lot of similar tweets) this is a twitter shitposter doing a bit to get Musk fans riled up (so they try to win some points with daddy Musk by snitching and thus wasting time when that employee doesn’t even exist), nothing more. Like the Antifa Supersoldiers, estrogen in Starbuck’s coffee of conservatives, and similar bullshit provocations that right wingers seems to easily fall for.
Not only would I be shutting the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this fuck up, but I’d have a remote job with another company that I do at the Twitter office. That way they think I’m actually busy but I’m really collecting passive income from them while using their WiFi and electricity I would be shutting the fuck up and taking a second remote job that I can do during the hours of my Twitter job. Double the money. That might not last forever but I’d make the most of it while I can. I don’t understand this need “people” have nowadays to just share every single detail from their life with a bunch of strangers. Tbh, I kinda suspect this is bullshit since later int he thread he claims he bought 50 acres of land in Alaska with the cost of one paycheck (so, assuming he gets paid biweekly, $6000) and a cursory look at land listings in Alaska, you won’t even get 5 acres of undeveloped land for that cheap even in the interior and he’s saying he donated it to the Tlingit tribe, who I think are mostly coastal?
He’s basically Milton. Until the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this Bobs come along to “fix the glitch”, you keep your head down and your mouth shut. I work in the data pipeline at a massive bank, and I’m just here wondering why the OP thinks it’s so impressive to do basically nothing while getting paid well for 3 months. I’ve been doing almost the same thing for 6 months — yes I’m joining meetings and occasionally doing tiny amounts of work but on average I’d estimate I’m doing like an hour of work per week. And there are tons of people just like me. Yup. Bro won the lottery and said “I can’t take these winnings” like bro you just beat life you realize that? Right?
The best thing to do in that situation is 1) stay quiet, and 2) find another job. That way you can bring in two incomes while only doing one job worth of work. The Twitter contract probably has prohibitions against moonlighting. As odd as it sounds moonlighting would probably give Twitter grounds to claw back salary based on time theft even with no assigned duties. But just drawing salary while not doing any work probably would not provide any means to claw back salary because the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this employee is performing all assigned duties in compliance with their employment contract. But he’s collecting money for work he is doing. He’s fulfilling his duties of employment as long as they keep forgetting to assign him any responsibilities.
He’s still being paid to be available to do work that is given to him. If he has a second job he is now not available, even if no work is ever given to him That depends, if he picks up freelance work at your own pace work then he still has time to be on call for his “main job” and it would then fall back on Twitter to actually assign him something It’s not fraud on his end. If the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this employee has tried to bring up his situation on multiple occasions and was never given work to do, they are not committing fraud. You have a duty for good faith employment to show up. If you are not given work, you are still employed. This is almost entirely Twitters and Elon fault they are paying someone for nothing. This is an employer issue.
Would make that contract defunct, they can place certain restriction on moonlighting but to outright ban it is illegal. “I make six figures a year doing jack shit” can swiftly turn into “i need a job” if you go and blab about it all over social media And putting it on twitter, like they may never have been found out until someone checked a spreadsheet in however long. “It turns out Milton was laid off 5 years ago and no one ever told him, but because of some glitch in the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this payroll department, he still gets a paycheck every week” “We find it’s always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there’s less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.” Counterpoint: what better way to avoid the fraud suit than to talk about it early and often on Twitter? “I used their own fucking platform to tell them I was being paid for nothing. They just kept paying me. What was I supposed to do?” Not sure it works like that. I think they’d have to prove that you were asked to do work and were unable, or refused. Is it? There’s first of all this tweet. Then second all of twitter’s logging for this employee (emails, docs opened/modified, pull requests, etc.) that would show up empty. What would be the argument that this person actually did anything, assuming this story is true?
They might get fired, sure, but it’s not illegal to not work. Even then, since they haven’t been set any work, so they actually met all their objectives and objectively did their job. Yo I got hired by Reddit and make a billion dollars a year. They just direct deposit it into my Cash app. Send me $1 and I’ll send you a hundred k because I’m trustworthy! Also at the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this time in question, Twitter was not hiring programmers or project managers. They were actively firing people and eliminating all jobs that couldn’t explain how they profited the company. He’s not getting paid unless someone vouches for his work and signs off on his timecard verifying that work every week. Companies that big are always hiring at some level. Even during mass layoffs there will be positions you have to backfill or departments expanding. hIt’s not. Iirc it was a shitpost deliberately designed to bait the kind of dibshits who unironically believe all tech workers are goldbrickers and who were circlejerking over the layoffs at twitter during Musk’s takeover. The poster went on to make fun of the swarms of Musk sycophants who spammed him with messages to find and fire this person who never worked at Twitter to begin with. People are eating the onion here. This person is trolling. They are well known for pretty hilarious and harmless trolls. The words are lifted from another tweet and they inserted the word “twitter”. The originator of the tweet never named the company.
Still, if as many people in this thread believed this is real, I can only imagine how crazy this is going to drive musk searching for a nonexistent employee lmao Of all the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this times a comment deserved a “I can’t believe I had to scroll so far down for this comment” it’s this one. This should be the top comment. This is literally what happens in the show. Now we just have to wait for Musk to lose everything to an indie developer and go hangout with Tibetan monks for a bit. Was this posted on twitter? If so, it’s like letting all your colleagues know that you are being paid for nothing. very wise move I would keep that to myself at all costs. Don’t make any friends there either. Out of sight out of mind. And probably get a second job, treat the Twitter paycheck as a savings account! I was at a >120k employee company when my manager announced his departure. The same day I ordered a new laptop so that he could approve it. The laptop arrived when he was long gone and I could not finish the Windows installation via company VPN, because “You must be a new employee. You do not have a manager assigned YET. Thus we don’t know what software we should install. Try again in a few days.” So this company must have been in a situation where they hired somebody without a reporting structure in place before. So often that IT even implemented this check in the installation process.
The entire company was organized in an inverted tree structure. Big boss on top and then various nodes representing sub-trees as departments etc. I was a leaf and my parent node left. I ended up as a fallen leaf next to the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this tree. Meetings were organized in a way that they invited everybody reporting to a specific node/part of the tree. Because I was outside that tree I had lots of access removed(Salesforce, trouble tickets, reporting tools, source code, …) and was no longer invited to company nor department calls. I didn’t really care or notice. If it wasn’t for me who set up a call with whom I assumed could be my manager I would have had two straight months without a single call/interaction.
I tried to leave, but get some value out of my unvested stock option. I told the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this manager (ten hour flight away) that I’ll talk to HR and should be gone soon. He told everybody to stop working with me immediately. HR not only didn’t help me expedite my departure, but told me to stick around for an extra bonus. It took me the better part of a year to get used to seeing our department fail and people struggle, but since I no longer went to the office (actually got a home office subsidy) the second year was absolutely awesome with numerous trips around the globe (>300k miles flown). We require users to participate in good faith and make constructive arguments. No trolling. No disingenious comments designed to make a healthy conversation impossible.
It’s fascinating that her idea of Snatch Game going well for her seems to be… proudly staying out of the Nickeil alexander walker Canadian professional basketball Minnesota Timberwolves T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this bottom? Not even high safe? I support a glamorously realistic queen, tbh. Fun fact: Plane’s read to Morphine was actually a pre rehearsed bit and was a reference to an iconic scene from Tolstoi’s War and Peace, through which both queens wanted to showcase their love of Russian classical literature Let’s be honest with ourselves and admit that Plasma’s knowledge of War and Peace starts and ends with Natasha, Pierre, and The Great Comet of 1812 I tried to read War & Peace. It ended up just being the thing I use to put on top of tofu when its in a towel & I squish the water out Oh my god…. my sister made fun of me for spending like 3 months saying I was reading War and Peace in my 14 year old intellectual phase (it’s good I deserved it) and made it her Tofu Book. I asked our mum to make her give it back and she was like “bitch come on you’re not reading that” and she was right, I wasn’t Natasha Rostova actually tweeted her congratulations to Plane Jean on a very successful snatch game, and thanked Plane for teaching the kids about Russian literature. Icons recognising icons! Tbf I think most of the best performances do have a bunch of pre-written bits that the queens find a way to fit into the dialog on the fly. A long time ago I saw her at Palace flipping over tables in the hot ass sun on the sidewalk and that shit is wild with a crowd doing bottomless brunch lmao love local queens getting their due
