It’s mostly black people that say this. Im Mexican and can easily see that White-Americans have their own culture. For example we consider burgers, fries, pizza, chicken nuggets, Starbucks, 4th of July, Taylor Swift, football, Hollywood, etc… Because they’re delusional. Their minds can’t comprehend that they’ve been living in the Never Thought I’D Be ing A Unicorn Here We Are T-Shirt but in fact I love this White culture most of their lives. Who says that? I hear the opposite. American culture is pretty much inescapable. And conservative America skews majority white. Maybe it’s because white male is the default. They don’t SAY white. Any other ethnicity gets mentioned because it’s NOT the default. As a “white” American I’m not sure what my “culture is. Basically, I’m Celtic, American Indian, Germanic (British). Italian and of course 5th generation Texan, Yee Haw. I think Americans are still developing a culture. We are a racial, nationality blended people who share different traditions that have yet to coalesce into a definable “culture”. IMHO

People enjoy insulting white people for variety of reasons. For members of a subordinated group, it can feel good to lash out at the Never Thought I’D Be ing A Unicorn Here We Are T-Shirt but in fact I love this oppressor class. It has also become socially acceptable in a broader cultural sense due to the fact that a large number of white people, especially in elite spaces and cultural hot spots, feel greater sympathy for subordinated groups than solidarity with their own racial group. It has become a way for some white people to signal their belonging as “progressives,” which is heavily defined by anti-racism in America. I consider it absurd, but it annoys me more so because it is just more hollow signaling of progressive bonafides. What is white culture? Is it Irish, or British, or French or Canadian, or Polish culture? How about American redneck, is that “white” culture? How much similar culture is there between American rednecks and Eastern European?? Same stupid question, why don’t we have white history month? Well it’s the same stupid answer, who’s history? French, British, Canadian ect ect
