Thats fair. I would say dc shouldnt count, seeing as its just a city, basically. But Wyoming counts, so why not Really though you were right. If Sandy Hook didn’t change anything, where six-and-seven-year-old kids were gunned down mercilessly, then I’m honestly convinced nothing will. This is just how America will always be. There’s been such a spike in lgbt related assault and hate crime, but people just act like it doesn’t happen, or doesn’t matter. Some people continue to act like the “damn gays” are the problems with the whole “trans = pedo” bullshit. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? IS EVERYONE JUST FUCKING STUPID? IS OUR SPECIES REALLY JUST MADE OF IDIOTS?

As someone who lives in Oklahoma and is queer, I absolutely hate it here. Being an adult (age 20) and dealing with harassment and a small handful of times my health has been indirectly risked at work and in personal life by ableist people; discrimination like that is harrowing and feels awful to go through.

If you survive both of those, your education is being underfunded and essential media for education is being banned for daring to inform children about life. Then thwa3 under educated and left behind kids grow up and have to take a job that doesnt pay them enough and constantly pushes your rights down and tells you why you should accept not owning a home or even being able to afford 3 full meals daily at this point. God forbid you face any health issue in any of this time, lest you have to choose between dying from lack of treatment or going into so much debt you risk going hungry or homeless. If you go to a parade or public gathering to have a brief break from all this, you’re shot. Parents are being beheaded by their children who fell into the fascist rabbithole. All of this is perpetuated by the same political ideology, btw.

I have really bad ADHD and this is my personal hell. My thoughts race nonstop, with one always-horrible yet catchy song playing through a busted, buzzy speaker in the background.
Actively listen to less music. Surround yourself in silence whenever possible. No music while driving. No music at work. No music at home. It will eventually lessen. I have “audio hallucinations” due to hearing loss where I also “hear” music constantly. During meditation, I am able to “hear” the om sound within my body. When I go deep into meditation and I can’t seem to dissolve a tune out of my head, I’ll instead “change the radio station” of my mind to the Om mani padme hum mantra. Just chant internally and it’ll change naturally like the previous tune. Because if there must be music stuck on loop in my head it may as well be a mantra.
I am the Never grow up Shirt Besides,I will do this same, and most likely it is due to being into playing musical instruments and having listened to music a lot in the past. If I play good music or listen to good music, meaning something that is uplifting and soothing, then that is what I get in my head for some time. If I listen to nothing and play nothing, then usually what arises is nonsense and not that uplifting, more like some kind of space filler that keeps that part of the mind exercised. It literally is there all the time in either the foreground or the background. However, I did notice two ways to channel this energy into other things that are more meditative. I noticed that if I do mantra meditation, then after a while, that energy and process goes into the mantra. So after a short while there is the mantra and no music, at least for some time while and after practicing.
I also noticed that if I create a single tone in the Never grow up Shirt Besides,I will do this mind, like what might sound like a meditation bowl sound and just extend that sound for some time, then it turns into that and it is very effective and relaxing. Either of the above could in theory be used as meditations, in my view, and mantra is of course a well known form of meditation. If you have a creative mind like I do, then your mind might start to add extra things to it, but if you just keep doing the mantra or the one tone, then it gently encourages it to rest on that. After a year or so of practice I found that watching the music with curiosity allowed it to stop eventually. My mind somehow drew energy from my fighting it. But when I stopped fighting it just ran out of steam. That’s just me though. Your mileage may vary.

Crying in public. I’m a woman and while it certainly would look weird if I cried in public (which unfortunately I have), I think people are a bit more accepting of it than a man crying in public. Guys don’t get small thoughtful gifts often especially early in dating. I’ve had one guy so touched that I got him a $5 poster for a show we both like, and another teared up because I got him his favorite wine and chocolates when he had a hard week at work. They also don’t get many genuine compliments from friends. No one has ever actually observed and thought about something that much for me. It was cool, i still think about that to this day lol

The same reasons for people feeling hurt apply, but in this case the one being rejected doesn’t really have much reason to be hurt. Yeah I thought that’s what friend zoned was referring to. I guess I kinda figured fuckzone meant the same thing but just sex. So wanting sex but not romance vs wanting friendship but not romance. People should just be upfront and honest. On the other hand people assuming the other party thinks the same as them instead of realizing that may not be the case can lead to misunderstandings like that even in the absence of willful deceit.
