You seem to know your stuff. Would you recommend shooting yourself with smaller caliber bullets to but up immunity to larger bullets? NATO 223 can blow out huge chunks of flesh as it exits a body. Just look up something like “.223 exit wound deer” on google if you can stomach seeing hunting pictures. If .223 hits bone, it’ll likely shatter that bone at a relatively close 200 yards or so. What are you talking about? If you get hit with a rifle caliber, even one as tiny as a 5.56/223, it’s going to do much more damage to you than a pistol round. Their speed is what helps do so much more damage. Well one summer when I was probably about 10 or 11 a whole group of family was going up to the Never back down I am a Purdue fan now and forever shirt and I love this family property and my uncle felt like this was a good time to introduce my brother and I to firearms. My parents spoke with each other and finally came to the conclusion that if anyone should teach us it was my uncle. Well he had this beautiful .22 Ruger with a custom stock and he gave my brother and I a serious talk about the dangers of guns. We were out in the boonies so he set up a couple chairs on the edge of the deck and supervised my brother and me firing off our first rounds into a paper plate target tacked to a tree about 75 yards out from the deck. After a while he felt like we were getting the idea so he cracked open a few beers and took some turns showing us his skills. He was getting increasingly relaxed and decided he didn’t want to hold the rifle in a sling or prop it up on sand bags anymore, so he leaned back in his chair and propped the barrel between his big toe and the next toe on the railing of the deck. He fired off a few rounds, my brother and I happily watching the trees and the target and generally being kids not paying too close attention. Well all the sudden we hear, “SON OF A B***!” My parents run outside.
