I didn’t take my revenge, but letting him sweat was nice. His friends laughed their asses off. And called him a dick for firing me. Shouldn’t have allowed their employee to lock the doors. Now all the old timers, the last of their loyal fan base, ain’t coming by no more. On top of that create an ageist environment forcing older folks who aren’t tech savvy to use Kiosks. As grim as this sounds any restaurant that allow employees lock doors whenever they feel like should shut down for good. Living wages for flipping burgers just ain’t going to happen. What will happen, and what we are already seeing, is automation to a) replace workers for simple tasks, and b) push work to the customer – like ordering kiosks and meal pick up.

My guess is that the layoffs are a result of a business decision to find a safer and cheaper location. Chicago is not the slum that Republican propaganda claims. Crime per capita is lower than in alot of R cities. But do please continue your boycott, it is lovely to keep out the riffraff. 2 days agoWhy are they doing mass layoff’s? Their revenue stream seems fine and people are typically employed so that they can do work, meaning the company will lose work (and by extension revenue) in exchange for some short term payroll savings. Logically layoffs only make sense where it can be proven an employee is not able to produce value (such as a failed venture/department) or where a company is so desperate for immediate cash to avoid bankruptcy. In almost any other circumstance layoffs will see a company lose money.
