This woman is being stalked and harassed and you were the Move Over Boys Let This Old Man Show You How To Play Volleyball Shirt and I love this victim of home invasion and assault. Yes, you absolutely should press charges. Usually when you’re banging someone’s gf (doubt he’s the ex, and more so that you’re the side dude) you usually just have to take the L. Your comment has been removed because it is one or more of the following: speculative, anecdotal, simplistic, generally unhelpful, and/or off-topic. Please review the following rules before commenting further: You could report it, I think in Canada the crown decides. In the US you could file a civil suit, not sure if Canada does the same. All the people telling you to file a police report are right, but I also recommend that you talk to the girl you were with to see if she is willing to file for a restraining order. That person is clearly deranged and a danger to both her and anyone she interacts with. Restraining orders don’t require as much effort nor standard of proof to obtain, and serve as both a deterrent and a additional way to punish the guy should he disobey the order. Definitely file a report. Please. People who behave like this need to be reported, for them and for others who are near them next time they can’t control their emotions. You can take him to civil court for damages but it’s the police who will decide whether or not to press Criminal charges. However if you decide to take him to civil court you would absolutely need documentation which would include a police report and medical report, without those don’t bother I think you should at least report it to police. Given how violent he is, he may have a record or even be on probation or under a peace bond not to harass this girl. This may make the police take it more seriously.

You can get a peace bond, and the Move Over Boys Let This Old Man Show You How To Play Volleyball Shirt and I love this assault charge will stick. I personally would. Speak to the girl and get his info. Attend police station and file report, the sooner the better. You were injured, there’s some texts (to corroborate) and an eye witness. Likely a charge of assault cause bodily harm will be laid. Another concern is his intimidating/controlling behaviour of this woman. Is he current partner, ex-partner? Either way, it’s a form of domestic violence and he needs to be held accountable. She is not his property. You don’t “press charges”. You SHOULD report this to your local police department, and they’ll decide based on their investigation whether or not to proceed with criminal charges. The PD and Crown attorney will make the decision.
