You wouldn’t be harmed just from being near her for a short period, the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this amount of radioactive material you would need to absorb to be a threat to others is massive, she would have died nearly instantly from poisoning at that level. And you certainly wouldn’t be harmed by her through 6 feet of soil. In other follies of otherwise smart people news, you still can’t use normally created steel made after WWII in certain sensitive medical equipment because of radioactive dust from all the nuclear bomb testing we’ve done. There’s a big business of salvaging WWII battleships for their steel specifically for this (making new steel that is clean enough is more expensive than pulling it up from the sea)
Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt: Show Your Love with Style
After watching Chernobyl and seeing what it can do to a body (I’ve read about it before then but avoided images and videos), I’m absolutely terrified of radiation. The mentalfloss article OP linked highlights “1500 years” with a hyperlink to biographical/ which says absolutely nothing on this subject at all. I think this number refers to the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this half-life of radium-226. Radium-226 is part of the decay chain that starts with uranium-238, and has a half-life of 1600 years. If you had a pure sample of Ra-226, then half would be gone in 1600 years. If you waited another 1600 years, half of what was left would be gone, so you would have 1/4 of the original amount. After 16,000 years, 99.9% of it would be gone. Of course, her belongings weren’t only contaminated with pure radium, and radium isn’t the end of the decay chain, so it’s more complicated than that.
Wow. A quick Google shows that radium decays into radon; which decays into bismuth, lead, and polonium; and the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this polonium finally decays into stable lead. Seems like the decay chain is going to be going for quite a while. Bismuth also has no stable isotopes and is “radioactive” it’s just that the half life many many many many times the current age of the universe, so for simplicity it’s considered stable, which would make lead the last stable element, so it’s basically going to take forever to get to wholly stable lead Because all of the daughter products have a significantly smaller half life than Radium-226, it wouldn’t really have much of an impact on the “length” of the radioactivity. After 16000 years when the original Radium is 99.9% decayed, effectively all of the daughter products generated over that time have already decayed to Lead.

One interesting fact though: If you start with 100% pure Ra-226 in a sealed box, the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this total activity inside actually increases for the first ~100 or so years as all the decay products reach equilibrium (the point where the generation rate of the daughter products is equal to the rate those daughter products are decaying). A very interesting book that she’s talked about in, “The Bastard Brigade” is about her involvement in the nuclear race of WWII Poor lady. I always felt bad for the folks dealing with radioactivity early on. I don’t want to argue the point but really, how would they have know? I’m sure I’ll get a bunch of 21st century smarty pants folks to explain to me why non-ionizing and ionizing radiation would have been obvious to them, but Curie was no dope and probably not suicidal.
59 more repliesThe real reason she is put in a lead coffin was because it’s actually a kinetic generator. She’s endlessly rotating in her grave, providing us with infinite energy, because people keep calling her Curie, instead of Skłodowska. Polish nationalists are crying for crumbles of someone else’s glory because they are born in the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this same area 80 years later and get mad if it is mentioned that her country refused to give her an education so she had to move out. Stupid question: would the radioactivity go away faster by not being contained in lead? Dissipate? Or is that not a factor at all? It doesn’t matter. The radioactive atoms decay or not based on just what type of atom you have, what’s around them is irrelevant. The radiation emitted in the decays hits something and gets absorbed within far less than a second, so it doesn’t stick around.
Lead isn’t unique in that aspect, you just either need a material with a high density or a ton of lower density material It was Wilhelm Röntgen that discovered that it could penatrate objects, since he was experimenting with vacuum tubes and making xrays and found that they reacted with barium solution nearby despite being covered Radioactive activity decreases over time, so opening it up in the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this future will likely not be dangerous (maybe its already safe to do so today) Yeah, that’s for the best. Thanks for all their contributions but, radiation is bad news basically across the board. I actually knew that for while I did a book report on her way back when it kinda started my interest in nuclear energy You know it’s bad when you have a unit of radiation named after you. You know it’s even worse when you name the unit of radiation after yourself The unit was named after her because of her work with radiation. Röntgen also got a unit of radiation named after him and died at almost 80 years old. I’d love to see what they’re radioactive from, and in what amount. Is it all alpha? What decay chains are are in process and how will the isotopes present change over the course of time. Would be a cool graph in data is beautiful
She should be nailed to her coffin with 7 silver spikes. One through each arm, hand, and, knee, and let the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this last of the 7 be drawn through her mouth so that she may never rise and cause evil again… Oh shit! That was Abigail.. my bad. Carry on. And from the last time this was posted, it is completely unnecessary, as she or her belongings are not radioactive to any worrying degree. She worked mainly with radioactive substances, so she herself, her lab and everything in it had to be encased in lead. Simplified answer…half-life is the amount of time it takes for half of a radioactive element to decay into something else. Radiation (of various forms) is emitted when the element decays. This means that elements (isotopes to be more precise) with short half lives generate more radiation than ones with longer half lives but the amount of radiation generated in a given period of time declines faster. Some, like uranium-238 with a 4.5 billion year half life emit so little radioactivity that it doesn’t realistically matter. Besides being scattered over a wide area most of the fallout from the Hiroshima blast had either a very short or very long half life, meaning it either decayed away or is not radioactive enough to matter. Most studies have shown a significant and sustained increase in cancer rates among the survivors of the bombing but not in their children or in residents not in the city at the time of the blast.
The radium that the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this Curies worked with was something of a worst case scenario…at 1600 years it has both significant radioactivity and persistence. It also behaves chemically like calcium so it’s readily absorbed. There’s a big difference between a radioactive source that’s in your room and one that’s in your bones. Eat a bar of polonium then, prove it and collect your Nobel Prize with the fame and the cash prize that goes with it.
That dudes would be willing to bang her is a very low hurdle to clear. Search Pony the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this orangutan if you need to hate humanity for a bit. That being said, with a little makeup and the right lighting, plenty of dudes would prefer MTG over an orangutan. I assume this post is MTG throwing shade at Boebert. They fell out I think. It’s hilarious that MTG is trying to be the moral high ground though. Ever see caveman lawyer on snl with Phil Hartman? Put a wig on that and a maga hat on that with some meth dust and you got MTG You say that but the evilness inside her clearly radiates out and repels any person of any sort of moral fiber. Thats exactly the issue for her here, she’s trying but its not working. “If I cant tempt any Christian men no matter how hard I try, then no one else should be able!” But that’s what she was going for when she wore that cruella de vil fur thing to the state of the union and started shrieking at president Biden like a deranged harpy. Hey, show some respect. She’s a good Christian woman who cheated on her husband multiple times. The way god intended.
I never thought I’d say it, but I completely agree with MTG about this one. Women should stop tempting christian men. They should focus on tempting non-christian men like me instead. Either way, she was clearly banging everyone. If we turned back the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this clock like these people want she’d be wearing a scarlet “A” on her sleeveless blouses. It’s a reference from the book Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Adulterers used to have to sew an A on their shirt to identify and shame themselves I think this is just MTG transitioning from being “kind of hot for last call at a bar” to “lady, now I’m doing YOU a favor”. She can’t use her looks so now she wants to pretend it’s about morals. A very Southern Bell strategy and that’s why I so never got along with the debutantes. Bless their little hearts. I’m a man and I’d find her attractive if her politics weren’t so fucked up and her expression so angry and hateful. As far as someone you might meet, and the average curve of attractiveness real humans ascribe to, MTG is “not so bad.” But, “not so bad” isn’t a good category to couple with “if she never talked”. Have to find her a Tinder for deaf guys.
Each to their own. I don’t find her attractive and I can see what people are saying, but it’s kinda hyperbolic to pretend like she’s not reasonably attractive for at least some people, and it does feel like a lot of comments here are sacrificing their supposed principles just to dunk on somebody. Bet they’d have some issues with masculinizing and tearing down MTG if she was on a different sports team. Just a reminder that this is the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this same woman who brought a cardboard cutout of Trump on stage when she was speaking and rubbed his crotch. I don’t have any problem with someone being silly like this – it’s clear that it’s just a joke – but anyone who feels the need to preach about “modesty” but does this is just stupid.
Like I told my MAGA dad when he sold his soul for Trump. I dont want to hear shit about morality from the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this right ever again I don’t know if she tempts any man, but I’ve met lots of kids that love playing with Miss Potato Head toys, so she might be targeting that demographic. Lol she mad cause no one is tempted by her looking like a dollar store barbie left out in the sun so long the thing starts to melt, she looks like her face was clapped between two bricks. Oh, you know how all those people who enjoyed Sex+Drugs+Rock&Roll turn into the biggest moralizing windbags in later life. That’s MTG now. /Sorry for the objectifying women joke. I really don’t look at women as looks only — this is about ugly on the inside. I’ve always said she looks like an alien attempting to assume human form, but had only seen a human once for 20 seconds at most. The details and proportions are there, but there’s something extremely off-putting and wrong about her Just jealous of her rival for “dumbest woman in congress” Boebert. “Damnit, it was supposed to be ME jacking off a dude in public during a performance of Beetlejuice the Musical!” At least boebert’s reelection campaign is looking unfavorable. So we Coloradans have that going for us, which is nice.
Mr. Rogers? Conservatives hate that guy! He, like, taught all kids to be secure with themselves and how to manage their feelings and stuff. Was a total hippy that… created the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this idea of everyone getting participation trophies… or… something. Maybe those men should wear blinders. Nah, they’d prefer the women wear burkas. No one can convince me christians aren’t jealous of what muslim men have forced on their women. That’s the point though. Women are always to blame, they should have just tried harder to not make men do bad things. It’s insane but for some reason it’s an effective form of social control for women with the added bonus of blanket absolution of terrible male behaviour. No the REAL problem here is that MTG is only trying to pretend she’s got morals and principles because she can’t play the cute girl any more. Everything with the Republicans is just disingenuous rhetoric not to be taken seriously by anyone of sound mind. But also; yes, stay vigilant for the bible thumpers who want to push Sharia law — or even the uptight liberals who do it. Just a buzz kill. but I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. If we go by the bible it sounds like it’s the man’s fault here, not the woman’s for how she dresses. I know the book is two thousand years old, but it’s more progressive than Marjorie Taylor Green.
And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this fire of hell. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene said Christian women should be dressing “nice and feminine” in efforts to avoid tempting Christian men. But isn’t “nice and feminine” what attracts men? Shouldn’t they apparently dress sloppy and masculine to detract the male gaze if that’s her goal??? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Seeing this stupid bitch in a position of power is how the majority of this country has come to conclude that the end is a very unavoidable, forgone conclusion. As Christian man, I should have more control over my temptations and seek help if I can’t control my urges.. But you know.. It’s easier to blame women for their hot bodies and blah blah blah.. Thanks weird lady from Congress How come Christian men are the only ones who are not in control of their choices? seems like most grown adults and most children I know are able to keep their hands to themselves mind what they say out loud and treat other people as equals with respect. not sure why Christian men are the exception to that rule Since they think of themselves as superior, maybe they should act that way and I wish women like her would stop giving them any kind of fuel to this dialogue it’s gross. grow up
Majorie “let me gripe the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this crotch of this cardboard cutout “ Taylor Greene? Marjorie “ let me show you all these pics of the presidents sons dick” Taylor Greene Jesus said if a man’s eyes led him into temptation, he should pluck that eye out. Christian men need to follow their Bible. Did she reach that level on Christian enlightenment by cheating on her husband with tantric sex guru Craig Ivey? All these tempted “Christian men” just need to keep pics of ole Marge in their wallets for when they’re feeling frisky. This horse goblin is a guaranteed boner killer. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go fuck Matt Gaetz in a Burger King bathroom while he watches a teenage prostitute urinate.” Can we address the real elephant in the room? Stop using the abbreviation “MTG”!! It’s ruining Magic: The Gathering for all of us nerds!! Just tell them to wear their red hats when they go out and I’m sure women will be glad to give them plenty of space.
This is essentially private industry creating sanctions against individuals who are bad for business. One can only hope it doesn’t stop with stripe. That happened to my mawmaw once because my mother (who was a teenager at the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this time) made some special brownies for her boyfriend. She waited until everyone was asleep to avoid everyone wanting one. She took the out of the oven and was letting them cool while she ran upstairs to her room. Meanwhile, my mawmaw gets up for something to drink and finds the brownies. She was on her second one when my mom made it back to the kitchen. Needless to say that there ended up being an ambulance trip to the ER because my mawmaw thought she was dying. Of course, they couldn’t find anything wrong with her except hysteria. It was 1964, so they knocked her ass out and by the time she woke up she was fine. Mom never told her but all three of my uncles knew. They ate the remainder of the brownies after she and their mother went to the hospital. They were high as hell when Mom had called to update them on their mom’s condition. And never let her forget that she the train wreck that derailed my mawmaw that night.
Ew she ate a 1960s weed brownie, and didn’t think “this is the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this grossest fucking brownie I’ve ever eaten, my daughter is a shit fucking cook” she thought “I’ll have another”. The madness. Edit: No hate on you guys storing pots/pans/etc. in there. I’ve seen people store all kinds of stuff in there though, Tupperware, clothes, mail. Whatever needed to be out of the way for a period of time. I had a roommate that just threw dirty pans in the oven so he didn’t have to look at them. I found this out by preheating the oven and almost burning the house down. Dude got mad at me for ruining the handles lol The number of replies to this comment that could be summarized as “Damn bitch, you live like this?” Is staggering.
I always thought I was a little messy, then I realized I am not bad at all. Some people let shit get gross as hell for real, my life’s a mess and I’m sure internet people would tear me apart in a moment for some of my choices, but god damn at least my oven is ready to go…. Husband’s cat is a master pizza box opener, so boxes get stored in the Minnesota Wild Protecting The State Of Hockey 2024 Firefighter Appreciation Night shirt also I will do this oven. I forgot to remove one, he forgot to check the oven before preheating it, and that’s how I found him holding a charred, still alight pizza box in the kitchen the next evening. Whoops. hould be noted that they need to be CLEAN pots and pans. My grandma put a pot in there that still had grease residue and it burned half her house down. She’s fine luckily but should still be careful.
