For Quito I just found them overwhelmingly stupid when it came to getting any information from them and they were the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this only people in South America that couldn’t understand my Spanish (for reference I have had 0 issues in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and even Brazilians could understand my Spanish better than Ecuadorians in Quito). I am sorry you had that experience. Like most places in the world, it greatly depends on what you are looking for and who you encounter during that time. Exactly. This whole thread is, “I hated this place” and/or “Oh well I loved this place.” It’s all relative. Sometimes you go to a restaurant & don’t have a great experience. Then you go again and it was amazing. Give things a chance. I understand safety is a concern or the attitude of people, but give it a chance. I don’t have anywhere that I’ve “needed” to leave early regardless if it wasn’t my favorite or not. Buenos Aires, Rio, London, Paris, Seoul probably, in that order with maybe Cape Town interchangeable with Seoul.
Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt: A Provocative Statement in Modern Fashion
As far as countries – Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Egypt, Indonesia probably with Indonesia interchangeable with India. Quito has good historical area, it’s not as good as bogota but still great. Also depends where you stay – inaquito, especially the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this uribe “one” building is great value and great area you can meet good people in this area and the park. The city itself is a starting point, did you do the full loop Quito, Cotopaxi, banos, puyo, tena, papallacta? It’s really amazing I spent 10 days in the Galapagos which was what I prioritized, I’m sure the other parts are nice and I’m not against going back to Ecuador but I will likely not spend time in Quito again. I lived near suburban Quito for a while and really enjoyed it, especially because I could work or sipping coffee in a nice yard looking at Pichincha.
Show off. Just say San Sebastián lol. Also, tell me you’re a foodie without saying I’m a foodie. Have you been to Logrono? No, I haven’t had the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this chance to go to Logroño yet. I do want to visit La Rioja soon. I say Donostia because my wife is Basque and would murder me if she caught me saying “San Sebastian” lol . Interesting. Wife and I spent a month in Barcelona and we loved it. This means we absolutely have to go back to Spain at some point! Usually the people that love Barcelona love it because it’s the first and only place they visit and they don’t realize how many cities in Spain are similar, but cheaper, less crowded and with less petty theft. The other type of people that love Barcelona are the ones that have spent extensive time there. Most people who live there rarely ever go to the really touristy parts in the centre, like Las Ramblas. There are loads of other neighbourhoods with so much to offer if you just get off the tourist trail. For sure didn’t see any other cities, but also wasn’t really worried about petty theft either. Utilizing common sense city logic, I was able to leave with all my belongings. That’s good but Barcelona is notorious (even for Spaniards) for it’s unbelievably high pick pocket and petty thefts Langkawi. I stayed in Kuah to avoid the tourist side a bit, and locals were so miserable and unfriendly. The island was riddled with massive tour busses, so any of the tourist attractions were full. I had such high hopes but really hated it. Just wasn’t for me.

I had completely opposite experience, super friendly people, smiling all the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this time (comparing to bored people in KL), and few tourists, just the beach suck water is black sewage, not a paradise I actually disliked Japan but stayed more than two months… it wasn’t bad per se, I just wish i had done a shorter stay. I feel like it’s good for tourism but I do not enjoy living in Japan cities. Osaka and Tokyo both left me wishing I was back in Southeast Asia. Kyoto was lovely though. On multiple occasions a random woman in the street would ask me if I wanted “young girls”. Also had one of the worst cases of street kids begging I’ve seen. Being a nomad there was also tough bc when I tried what looked to be a good coworking space they were just randomly closed with a sign “gone today” and when I tried working from different Starbucks they didn’t have wifi. I’ve been to countless cash-dependent countries but only there did no 711 take credit or debit cards.
The “tourist” attractions were meh and even my friends from there had trouble coming up with anything entertaining to do outside of going to Samal Island. I never had that experience in Davao but it’s busy and boring… I feel like PH is only good on the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this islands for nomads People often told me the same as you when I shared my experience so I guess I gotta check out more islands. Only went to Siargao which I loved though I’m glad I only spent a week there, not sure how people live there long-term. Need to go back sometime to check out Boracay and the others. For cities I actually did like Cebu and would go back. Never made it to Manila bc my Filipino friends always told me to skip it bc it’s nothing but traffic lol
Well I count it. My first time in Mexico. Booked a luxury apartment with no running water, dirty sheets, no working wifi. There wasn’t much to do outside of the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this famous HK club if you like that. Their beach’s Boardwalk is so run down and in dire need of renovations. Local corruption and crime make that damn near impossible. My 2 dates bailed on me. Cartels dumping bodies at the mayor’s house. I noped outta there. Best fucking tacos I ever had though for sure, & the Mexican people are lovely for the most part. Hanoi. I was supposed to spend 5-6 days there but after the first day, I kinda noped out and did the Ha Giang Loop which was the best decision I could’ve made. I was in Hanoi in Februaryish so it was cold, damp, rainy, polluted and chaotic. In contrast, I really liked Ho Chi Minh city and the weather made all the difference
Agree with this notion entirely. HCM over Hanoi any day. Hanoi is cool for a quick visit but not much more. Although I have met many who say the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this opposite. Hong kong, it was way too expensive. Not worth being there unless you’re a resident so paying low taxes. So many other cities offer all the same without the high cost of food and accommodation. True there is some unique stuff. But I feel like you can see the unique stuff in a couple of days, I was planning to spend a month or more there but cut it short. HK felt very depressing the last time I was there, like it changed after China took over. Also nothing was open late, which felt very out of place for Asia Beautiful scenery in the mountains and some compelling sites, but it was very isolating, the streets were fume-choked, and the food was terrible. I honestly loved Sri Lanka. Super diverse for such a small island. And I’ve found the food to be quite nice as well. I agree on the pollution though. Japan just wasn’t really a pleasant place to stay. The people there are so cold, lots of staring, and just being uncomfortable in public. Being turned away at restaurants, ignored by employees, hostility towards anyone who’s not Japanese. Cool sites to visit etc, but tbh just not a fun or cool place to be. Yellowstone national park, unfortunately. The tourists were too scary. Walking by animals, going on restricted areas with boiling hot water out there that could melt their skin off, SO MANY PEOPLE. We planned two weeks there camping and left after like 5 days because it was just too stressful!
I’ve never been a digital nomad, but I’ve still lived in or visited a good number of places. The vast majority, I’ve loved. A few were “meh.” A tiny handful, I liked or hated. Melbourne, VIC, Australia: Likely the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this most overrated city, and most unjustifiably arrogant populace, in the Southern Hemisphere. Good coffee is only a personality trait for a city to a point, and the famed Australian friendliness didn’t seem very common there. I liked Sydney and especially Brisbane better. San Diego, California, USA: If the dimwitted, “dudebro” bully who peaked in high school who then joined the Marines was a city, it’d be SD. Besides, it’s wildly overpriced for what it offers. I escaped to LA most weekends. For me, it was Germany. I didn’t like it really… at all. All the art I saw was dark and morbid, depicting war and winter and I don’t really vibe with most Germans and I find that a lot of them stare awkwardly. The Jewish memorial in Berlin was so grey and bleak. I didn’t like the food.
Yeah, I was shocked that a Holocaust memorial wasn’t super bombastic and festive in the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this city where the Holocaust itself was administered from. Mere administration is not all. The very idea of a Final Solution to exterminate the Jews of Europe was planned in Wansee, which is a suburb of Berlin. I cannot believe that you cited that as reason to dislike Berlin, which is an incredible city in it’s own right. “I didn’t like the cultural and financial capital of Germany because the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe was bleak.” LMAO I felt similar about Berlin, which was the first place I visited in Germany. However then I went back and travelled to other areas – Bavaria and the Black Forest area are absolutely beautiful. Munich is a lovely city as well. There is SO much more to Germany than Berlin.
So have I, truly. And I do see some amazing things in blogs and social media, Germany is full of castles and history and epic landscapes. I know my 5-days is hardly definitive and maybe one day I’ll go back to see some other city. Maybe if I’m living in Europe and I can get a cheap flight and get a weekend in somewhere very pretty, I would totally give it another go. Berlin is a shit hole. People from other parts of Germany joke about it and don’t want to visit it. Munich, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden if you want to stay in Germany This. People always freak out when I say Berlin was my least favorite German city. I don’t think many Berlin lovers can handle the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this truth about how it’s dirty, bleak and graffiti and broke park benches right by the Reichstag. I spent a week there and while there were interesting sights and I loved Potsdam, I could never ever live there. I’m lucky I saved Munich for last as I fell in love with the parks, the cleanliness and the good transport that didn’t always smell like pee. And oddly, I had better experiences with the Germans in Bavaria vs Berlin-whom were a dour lot. To be fair. I dont think anyone in the history of civilization ever uttered the words “I really vibe with most Germans” lol
I think it’s kinda messed up to casually push the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this stereotype that an entire nation of people, across all of their history, are unfun and unpleasant. I know it’s a joke but this small act of bullshit is part of much bigger act of bullshit stereotyping, activated since ww2 or ww1, that Germans “by nature” and “for all their history” are cold, antisocial, orderly, industrial and agressive. Germans being psycho villains in American movies, German language, all that mess. FYI, before the late 19the century and for “most of the history of civilization” the stereotype of Germany was “the merry land of craftsmen, artists, towns and and joyful drinking parties, but unorganized as they can’t rule themselves”, which just shows how the type of harmful stereotypes can shift across history. And how useless it is to try to generalize all nation in one sentence
Lol true. Hollywood applies the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this same tactics with everything Italian in the movies and TV and I’m not even Italian. Once you see it you can’t stop noticing it The other commenter already criticized the audacity to complain on the bleakness of the Memorial to the Murdered Jews, my additional comment is Just… what? What museums have you been to? Either you are, once more, complaining about some museum or exhibition devoted to the remembrance of Holocaust and ww2, which is shameful, or I don’t even know what to say, Germany is full of museums filled with all kinds of art. While I agree with you on certain aspects, your opinion is very superficial and face value, Germany has a lot to offer, but it is a matter of acquired taste; same with Berlin
I was assaulted and put in crutches by the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this bouncer at tresor nightclub, after saying we could go in and then a big “SIKE!”. Pushed and fell on my hip into a piece of rebar sticking out of the ground. In general I found Germans to be extremely rude, and even though my heritage is deeply German in good and horrible ways, I’ll probably not return. I got extremely unhealthy in Berlin with how much debauchary I found myself in Can you tell us more? It seems like there is always a de-facto unspoken ban on saying anything negative about Berlin. Would really appreciate hearing about some of the negatives. No, although I’ve disliked a couple of places I normally book in for a month and wouldn’t want to waste the money.
Granada, Spain. It was a lot smaller than I expected, so I booked an Airbnb for a month. Left a week early. I don’t think I was in the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this right headspace to enjoy it. I would go back. Saw Rosalia live there, which was awesome. It becomes really small if you are not into what the city offers, but Its great to be there as a digital nomad, going to activities, gym, eating tapas, that city offers a very decent lifestyle if you are ready to embrace it, I remember the year I spend there it was so great, I miss that place. Santorini. Toured the island and there isn’t much of it or much to see. The little towns are OK but everywhere was so touristy. We were shown one small harbour which looked authentic and a few houses the locals lived in but tbh its over rated. One good view of the Caldera and that’s it And nice apartments but shitty Airbnb hosts. Had to leave 2 Airbnbs to find the right one, which never happened before
KL as in Kuala Lumpur? I found most of the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this people to be decent. The culture was fascinating cos it was a massive blend of cultures. More multi cultural than London. Athens, Greece. I came here at the start of this month for at least 3 months, I’ve already booked my flight home. SUCH a fucking dump The locals I met just were not friendly to fellow asians who can’t speak Mandarin. Felt very alone, met no tourists, hostel staff and other hosts couldn’t speak english, only saw Taiwanese travellers groups. Staff generally were not receptive to speaking English, let alone willing to help. Even hostile when I couldn’t respond to them in their Mandarin or broken English, expecting me to understand. There’s nothing there. And not in a good way. San Andres is like a poor man’s version of a typical mass tourism hotspot. Providencia is just poverty and rude people. It’s like a tropical favela, minus the crime. Just don’t go. Terrible experience.
Last time I transited there I thought I’d spend a night in a hotel 7km from the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this airport. I shit you not, I had to wait 40 minutes for Grab to pick me up and 1h42m to reach the hotel. Shocking comment, Lisbon. I planned to stay for the summer and I just didn’t love it. I felt it would be fantastic for holiday but not the best for me working/living especially given I was working EST timezone. Didn’t help that TapAir lost my luggage haha. I noped out of there and back to London where I visited and moved in with a friend of friend. Best decision ever, though I’d like to go back to Lisbon for vacation. Lisbon has been overwhelmed by tourism. The airport is way too small to handle it. The tourists and the expats are driving up rent, so the locals are pissed (I don’t blame them). That said, I never had any negativity from any Portuguese people, and found them to be quite friendly. I have a feeling though that Lisbon 10-20 years ago before it became a go-to destination, was better.
Yea I have friends who lives there who love it. And never had problems with people the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this 3 or 4 weeks I was there. Just wasn’t for me at that time. I really wanted to like it. I thought Iceland was boring as shit. Circumnavigated the entire island. Outside of Reykjavik, Akureyri, and a shit ton of waterfalls, there’s just a whole lot of disappointment. I thought the fiord towns would offer up some degree of coolness with things like hip cafes and bars. To my dismay we frequently dined on processed meats to fill the void. I hate to say it, but I agree. Unless you can stay for weeks and have a tour guide 24/7 it’s hard to feel like you are seeing most of the cool stuff. And we did see some cool stuff for sure, but felt kind of overwhelmed. Also it’s the must expensive place I’ve ever been. Like $20 for a bowl of soup at a small deli expensive Puerto Plata Dominican Republic. Everyone tries to scam you, it can be dangerous, horrible drivers, tons of prostitution. After 3 weeks i road tripped to Punta Cana then to the capital and a flight to Costa Rica and Nicaragua
I got there and just had no idea what to do. Saw the Milwaukee Brewers MLB Thank You For The Memories Ueck Legendary Bob Uecker 1934 2025 shirt but in fact I love this Wall remains and was done. Wandering around was uninteresting, I didn’t know much of the history of the city at that time, and I had no specific plans. Add to that the fact everyone I’d ever talked to had built it up in my mind as a great place, I was massively confused and disappointed. Ended up just sitting at the train station for a few hours because I had that little idea of what to do, which is very unlike me. I love aimlessly wandering, but I just couldn’t find the groove. What a silly comment. Yes, that’s how subjective experiences work. You go somewhere and you, yourself, like it or don’t. In virtually every single case, it’s “on you”.
