In my honest opinion, I don’t feel these options flatter you very well. There’s a lot of loose fabric in the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this groin, and overall, they just look a tad too big for you. The shirt is also not the best pair for either of these. But, if I had to pick, I think the second pair are the better of the four. Give a slight flare a try! In my experience it gives my legs a nice shape and balances me out. My shape makes it impossible to wear a straight leg without it looking off. Some of the flare legs look like a straight leg on me. I like 3 and they’re Levi’s. They recently added super low rise jeans which I know people hate and wish they’d stay in the 90s…. But hear me out, they’re not like the old low rise. In fact they’re closer to mid rise on me. Some people have a hard time finding jeans that are high rise that don’t go up to our ribs lol I wear Levi’s mid rise and they fit me like high waist jeans. Try more of a mom style or straight leg. These are more of a wide leg and overwhelms your frame. I bet a boot cut would be great too.
Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt: Unleash Your Inner Fighter
No high rise is fantastic you need something that fits your shape. All of them looked really similar because they didn’t fit your shape or accentuate anything. And wear a plain t shirt that isn’t loose when trying on jeans next time a sweater and loose jeans make people look like big rectangles with no shape Yeah these pants definitely look like they’re made for a taller person. Unfortunately it’s hard to find petite sizes in store to try on. I think you need a shorter waist, the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this way they bag at the crotch is unflattering. Maybe a mid rise? The straight ankle is best. 3 is my favorite but I honestly don’t think that any of these pairs are doing you any favors, they just don’t look right. I agree the rise is too high. As a short short-waisted woman, i always preferred low cut to regular height or high waists. See if there are any boot cut lower waisted ones. High waist doesnt always look great on petite people! I might look for a mid rise! My legs are really short compared to my torso, you can’t really tell here because I’m wearing high rise everything I too have short legs and a longer torso. While pricey the agolde 90s has a nice vibe. I take my normal size in the pinch waist version and a size smaller in the regular 90s fit. There’s usually 2 lengths. I feel it gives me the relaxed vibe, but not too low in the front crotch. I have a similar issue. I’m not short (I’m 5’6”) but I’m very long waisted for my height so my legs are comparatively short. I tend to go for skinny jeans and roll them a bit at the ankles. I know that style is probably outdated but it works for me. I looked best in the low-rise flares we had back in the late 90’s / early 2000’s but I don’t think anybody currently makes that style.
I actually like the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this boot cut better, on the legs. But I agree with everyone else, these aren’t doing anything for your crotch area. Maybe a different brand? I would try a more fitting high waist option – these are all too long in the crotch. American Eagle has great short options. I also like Kut from the Kloth and Wit and wisdom – both good petite options Everything is way too high waisted for us shorter girls. I like American Eagle’s low rise, it’s not actually low like we did in the 00s, it’s more like a higher mid rise. idk if you’ve got hips hiding under those jeans but i found gloria vanderbilt’s amanda jeans are comfy, cute and straight leg. there’s petite lengths, so it’s a good fit for me.

I think three is the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this best. But, the fabric is kinda swallowing you. Have you ever tried Madewell petite jeans? I’m not even 5’2 and pretty much all my jeans are from them. I think they look too baggy on you. I know it’s the style now to have “mom jeans”, but in general, they are not flattering on anybody, even if you have a good body. I bet straight cut jeans would look great on you, maybe lower rise as well. Of these options, I like the ones that have the torn holes at the knees. I do think that this is not the best cut on all of them. The fabric is heavy and you have such a killer shape! Of these options, I like the ones that have torn holes at the knees. I do think that this is not the best cut on all of them. The fabric is heavy and you have such a killer shape!
If this was your only options I’d say the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this 1st one. If something that looks good on you, then none of these options. What brand/store are you trying on? I like that multiple of them look like they are button fly jeans, which are my favorite, and I’d love to know from my own shopping purposes! Generally I agree with a lot of the commenters here that the waist is too much fabric for you. I didn’t notice the crotch length in the pants until I saw the comments. I liked 1 the most but maybe something with a lower rise could work Everyone keeps talking about the rise. You can find high rise that will fit you well. Levi’s jeans don’t look good on me either. Some brands use different ratios in terms of hip to waste measurements. My favorites are from Loft or Ann Taylor and they come in straight or curvy cut. They might be worth a try. You can find them on sale if you’re a bit patient.
Why do they all fit like that? I think you need to try a different brand. These don’t seem like they’re made correctly 2nd if I had to choose, not sure what’s going on with the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this crotch area either?! Never had this issue with jeans before, but I’m tall Honestly, none of those are flattering. Petite women tend to look better in more fitted clothing. Maybe a pair of slim cut or boyfriend jeans would work. I also don’t like any. My general rule of thumb is tight fitting top which shows your silhouette should be paired with loose, flowy bottom. If you have a loose shirt (like this sweater) then you need a silhouette bottom like a skinny jean. Loose + loose = frumpy in my book. I have never understood the ripped jeans look. The third pair is the best but I’m sure you will find something better. My sister (19) has recently began dressing the same as my girlfriend (24). She doesn’t wear similar things, or dress in a similar style, she askes my girlfriend where she has bought a piece of clothing from, and within a week buys the exact same garment. Shoes, bags, even specific pairs of socks. My parents, work colleagues, my sisters boyfriend and I have all noticed. The pair of them work at the same workplace, and my partner says many people at work have began to notice and ask if they plan their outfits, as it has now got to the point that my sister has multiple entire outfits the same as my partner. My partner says this is quite embarrassing, and has of course stopped telling my sister where she buys clothes (it hasn’t stopped my sister, she just buys something very similar instead). I know that imitation is a form of flattery, but my girlfriend is a little creeped out by this. She is quite fashion conscious, so I do understand why she isn’t a fan of someone wearing exactly what she does every day. We have been together for 6 years and this only started happening within the last 6 months. My partner asked my sister if she could ‘not buy exactly the same clothes’ but my sister said, ‘she doesn’t know what style she likes, but she knows she likes my partners style’.
My sister has done this before to friends, most of whom she is no longer friends with. She buys the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this exact same wardrobe as them, and a couple of years later (after they fall out) has a complete wardrobe revamp. I think it is arguably nice, but none the less very strange. As the big brother/partner, my role in this situation is of course to take the piss out of the both of them. I’ve told my partner to be more blunt and tell my sister to stop dressing like her if it is bothering her. I have also asked my sister if she is dressing like my partner again today, if she is going as my partner for Halloween etc etc. Is there a way my partner can tell my sister to find a new style, without hurting her feelings? I have volunteered, but I have been told to keep my nose out (again, this is understandable). Your girlfriend has every right to be annoyed if she’s showing up to work in the same clothes but if you’ve been together 5 years she must have relationship with her where she can help her out? She might want some advice from a cooler older young woman?
I think this could be it, my sister also gets into relationships she isn’t happy in, and refuses to split up because (we think) she doesn’t want to be on her own. I think a lot of girls struggle to leave relationships for a number of reasons. If she’s staying in a relationship she isn’t happy in then she’s clearly struggling with self worth, which is sad. I think this is definitely an opportunity to help her (as frustrating as it might be for your girlfriend). If you look at young girls these days they all wear a variation of the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this same clothes in their groups anyway. If she doesn’t have a friend group to refer to then she’s going to do the same thing with your clearly nice dressed girlfriend. I’d love more than anything if my brother and their girlfriends were a bit more inclusive of me growing up anyway. She might want to spend more time with both of you which might really help her mental health.
Regardless, The fact she’s staying in clearly unhealthy relationships seems like the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this bigger problem here, not copying your girlfriend, which as you say, is actually quite flattening face value. I think this is spot on, even writing it down I was only looking at it at face value, and i think my girlfriend is probably doing the same to be honest. Now i actually look at this deeply, my sister could actually be struggling. Might be the time to be a good big brother… As a younger sister myself, I would have loved that the most! I never admitted it but I loved spending time with my older bros. Now that I’m a bit older the three of us are best friends, and I even help them out with girl advice. Having a good relationship with your siblings is so vital imo. You’re together for life! Make sure you take the time to enjoy it together
Made me sad reading this chain I hope she gets some help and feels better about herself never good if you are struggling and feel alone I hope you give an update at some point on the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this thread would be awesome to know what the outcome is and if she feels better after spending some time with you or whatever happens Be the big brother but maybe your GF can take on the ‘big sister’ role? She will understand things that you won’t or won’t be able to give as much advice on. If your gf takes her shopping or they look online together, your sister can start looking at things she herself likes and get approval from your gf, giving her an ample opportunity to find her own style that is approved by her current style guru. The things she wants might still be the same styles as your gf but that’s what trends are all about.
My sister always gets approval for everything she does, and i used to be the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this same to be honest. I only noticed after i got with my partner, when she would point out that i was an adult and didn’t need to ask permission to do normal things. I think moving out young helped this with me too, but my sister always askes approval for everything The reason she copies people is probably that she’s not really trusting herself to make decisions but she can trust others for theirs. Having someone she trusts give her “permission” to think/behave independently will probably help her to trust her own feelings/thoughts to make decisions. I used to be like this when i was a young teen where I had no idea what I liked and based my style, humour, the way I talked off copying people. It took me a few years until I was around 21 to start embracing my own style and realised what I liked instead of following trends. And I’m not neurodivergent lol I was just a late bloomer when it came to things like fashion.
So judging from what someone else said and what you’ve given as additional context. It sounds like your sister is like maybe quite insecure in herself and this Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this extends to relationships and so maybe she’s operating a bit like ‘If I copy this person they will like me’ (I had this happen to a lesser extent with someone I was friends with, like it was a case of us having like two fairly distinct aesthetics/interests and then they started getting seemingly really invested into trying to get into stuff I was into in a way that didn’t feel… organic? Like ‘I must mould myself to be like you so you’ll like me’ rather than being like ‘Well this person already liked me for me but also they’re introducing me to some stuff they like’ but there was also some kind of extreme circumstances at play in my case as this ex friend has really badly managed BPD)
But also your sister is still pretty young and just like shifting into being an adult and I know for me for example I didn’t really have much space/chance to really start working out my own style until I was into my 20s as I basically just didn’t know how to dress. Also you say they work together so is this like the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this first time your sister has like had a ‘proper’ job? So maybe they see your girlfriend’s style as a like good template for like ‘fashionable grown up’ Maybe if you encourage her to like think about what elements of your girlfreind’s style she likes (and maybe other style’s she’s copied) and then see if you can get her to make her own spin on it and also taking into consideration what she likes. Maybe if you encourage her to like think about what elements of your girlfreind’s style she likes (and maybe other style’s she’s copied) and then see if you can get her to make her own spin on it and also taking into consideration what she likes.
Thats exactly right, this is my sisters first ‘proper job’ and my girlfriend is in a senior position at the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this company they work for. My sister probably wants a similar career path to my girlfriend and is doing all she can (in her mind) to get herself there. I got bpd vibes as well especially if she always ends up falling out with the friends she was originally close to/trying to emulate. Like they go from being her favourite person to being split on/discarded. Although she’s only 19 so could be normal teenage friendship group issues. Maybe your partner could spend a day out shopping with your sister. Take her to the shops she likes, help her pick a couple of outfits that are your partners style but not actually things she owns. Maybe it will help your sister to develop her style more independently Some things are worth being really blunt about. She should just tell your sister that what she’s doing is embarrassing for both of them but then also offer to help her shop for different clothes that will suit her. If she’s done it before then she’s maybe just lacking a sense of self-identity and could do with guidance in that area.
Idk your sister but I think if I were to put myself in her shoes, I’d probably really appreciate if the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this girlfriend spoke to me about it. Especially if it was coming from a loving place rather than a ‘please stop copying me, it annoys me’. If my brother were to come to me about this kinda thing I’d be upset as I would have known your gf has complained about it to you, which in my eyes would be more embarrassing. She’s your family, you speak to her. It’s the rules in relationships: you have difficult conversations with your own family. Places such as John Lewis offer free, bookable personal styling sessions. There’s zero pressure to buy anything at all and they will work to your sister’s budget. The stylist will ask what your sister likes in terms of style, colour, fabric etc. Your sister could go and say she wants to try different tops/trousers/skirt/complete outfit that suit her body shape, complexion blah, blah. She’ll get to try loads and loads of things and see what she likes the most.
If your girlfriend has made it clear that it makes her uncomfortable and she wishes your sister to stop, and she has refused, then it is no longer ‘arguably nice’. In any case, perhaps you could gift her a styling session for her next birthday. Getting her colours ‘done’ and shape analysed may help her find her own style I think some of these replies are a bit harsh, she clearly struggling with her sense of self. I wonder if your gf could maybe just talk to her about how she found her own style. I’m AuDHD and physical appearance has absolutely been part of my masking, especially as a woman who ‘needs’ to look a certain way to fit in to our society. Caitlin Moran says something I will paraphrase badly, but essentially the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this reason why some women have a full wardrobe but ‘nothing to wear’ is because they have nothing for the person they need to ‘be’ that day and that really spoke to me. For those who don’t know about the typical female presentation, it can be quite different from the male. Girls with high-functioning autism are known for ‘masking’, which often involves studying how successfully social people do things and trying to deliberately imitate them. Combine that with our tendency for special interests/fixations, and it could look a lot like OP’s sister’s behaviour. Yes, as I was writing it, I was aware I was describing myself when younger too. (I’m way too old and tired for masking these days, but I did it for decades before the mask crumbled.) This is worth considering, and my favourite answer, especially as this is not the first example. It could be a coping technique to just try and ‘fit in’, if inside she doesn’t know how to behave and dress; copy someone she knows who seems popular or that she looks up to.
My partner and I have talked about it, and she does think it is weird but is trying to see the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this funny/nice side of the situation. None the less, i think it needs nipping in the bud like you say. Some people it might take some time, others not so much. It took me a very long time to be comfortable and relaxed with myself. I think my mid 30s. not excusing what she’s doing but i agree with the top comment as i used to be like this with the popular girls at school, i would copy how they did their hair and makeup and their accessories and style. because i had no self esteem and didn’t know who i wanted to be, i just thought if i copied cool people then i would be doing it right.. i suggest your sister looks at pinterest for different styles and aesthetics and maybe she will like the look of one and want to try it out. if she copies the exact outfit of a random model on pinterest that’s not the same as it being someone she knows personally and sees all the time so there isn’t any problem (although it wont help the issue of no self identity). she probably just really likes your sister’s style but doesn’t know how to come up with outfits in that style herself but pinterest could help with that
This seems like there are some deeper psychological issues going on and I’d strongly recommend supporting your sister is opening up to receiving professional help. The comment about her staying in relationships she isn’t happy in and doing this to multiple people until she forces them away is something we can all guess and comment on but you shouldn’t be taken the Michigan State Spartans all I want for Christmas is MSU Shirt in contrast I will get this word of strangers on Reddit, and instead speak to your sister directly about it. Odd suggestion, but get her to watch the film Runaway Bride, Richard Gear/Julia Roberts, it’s about a woman who doesn’t know what she likes as she copies her future husband, your sister might take a lesson from it and figure out how she really likes her eggs. I was going to say, I’ve seen this film. It ended with someone stuck in a washing machine and a case of mistaken identity. 7/10
