Still wouldn’t stop idiots from blocking the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and whole row to try to stuff their oversized bag in the compartment. I can understand it with older people, but why people can’t do it from within the row itself instead of blocking everyone is beyond me There is a good youtube video on the subject showing the time different betwen different ways of boarding. But the difference are minimal between different ways so breaking up groups for a minute less ain’t worth it. Only thing worth doing is removing fixed seating and just let everyone just sit wherever and just shovel them on like cattle that saves kinda alot of time. Amongst other reasons, because they want to board reasonably quickly. Boarding from back to front is one of the slowest ways to board a plane because everyone has to wait for the first guy in line to sit down in order to sit down themselves. Random boarding is quicker. If you literally went back to front you could do it in like 5 minutes. You’re not “waiting” on the guy in the back. Seat 32 man walks all the way back while seat 31 lady is literally RIGHT behind him and arrives at her seat immediately after he gets to his. It’s not like they send them one at a time and wait until they’re at their seat to release the next passenger.

No she isn’t. The person behind 32A is 32B, who must wait for 32A to sit down before they can. Assuming a narrow-body jet, 31A is SIX positions back from 32A and is nowhere near her row yet. Hmm, that does actually make some sense. I’m sure there have been actual studies done on this and to some degree airlines have to be about efficiency to maximize profits too, rather than just charging first class and priority boarding a boatload. They still have to load and unload quickly to keep their schedules, so I’d be surprised if the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and way they do it now is far slower than the optimal method. If I remember right the most efficient way to board a plane is actually totally random. That way people are settling in in random locations around the plane at the same time – instead of bunched up. The problem with that is that people like being special, they want to be grouped above other people even if it make the overall experience worse. Just curious–how does the Southwest method of boarding–where you just have a boarding position and sit wherever you want–compare to other boarding methods in terms of time? It seems like it could be worse because there’s almost no semblance of front-to-back that may exist with traditional airline zones, and the middle seats are almost always taken last requiring the aisle seat passenger to stand up.
I have never understood this. Do window seats in the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and back third, then middle seats in the back third and windows in the next third. Airlines should adopt Southwest’s boarding numbers BUT with seats. Everyone has to line up in order and then go to their assigned seats. And actually have flight attendants monitor carry on sizes along with people putting bags nowhere near their row. Because it doesn’t make a damn bit of difference. It would take longer, you’d be splitting families up and sorry I’m not letting my little kid get put in a different line than me in the airport where I can’t see them. Sorry not happening. You want to board without much hassle then get priority boarding. You don’t even have to pay for it if you have good credit. Just get a credit card that gives you airline perks like priority boarding and lounge access just for having it. Or join the airline’s mileage club and redeem. Or if you don’t fly enough for any of this to make sense then just suck it up and deal with it.

Some information about Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt
Seems like the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and best thing would be to get rid of carry on bags and make you check everything. That would stop the “stowing” slowdown. Nobody wants that though. Ideally, in a 6 wide centre aisle, you would the back row to board first, followed by the 6th row, who should be able to seat themselves as the back row is getting themselves organised, and the 12th and 18th rows. Or maybe left 3 back, right three 6th, ect Like learning how to ride in a school bus as a child? Training is already there, so we have to assume it didn’t take. The real reason is because people are arseholes and there will always be someone that insists on boarding when they want. Airplanes often say they are now boarding the back third of the plane and give row numbers that are boarding now. Every single time there will be someone from the front third of the plane that will insist on boarding early.
Because of groups that fly together (they usually pick seats next to each other). Groups tend to try to board with the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and first member even though the fair thing would be to have them board with the last member. It’s so much worse this year than it was last year and I don’t know why. Mostly with 8th graders. Some 7th graders, but not as many. I give them a more structured project? They don’t want to do it. I give them something more open-ended and choice based? They don’t want to do it. I give them clay? They don’t even want to do that. What’s worse, is when they conflate “I don’t want to do this” with “I don’t have to do this.” Or the somehow even more insulting, “I’m gonna scribble on a piece of paper and hand it in as done.”
I remind them that creativity and effort are the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and main components of their rubric and will reflect on their grade if they sit around and use the period as a social hour. It doesn’t change. I know art isn’t for everyone so I can’t always win. But I try so hard to make my projects fun and engaging and right now I just feel like I’m failing. I just can’t wait for this trimester to be over. At least then I can try to start fresh with the new groups.Schools are now lord of the flies. Why do the kids do this? Because they can. What a shock that making every kid feel comfortable every second of the day while simultaneously having access to the internet in their pocket made them realize they can get away with doing jack shit 24/7.
Students shouldn’t be allowed to have their phones out in school. Teachers also put them on the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and computers way too much. Yes and no. I have been teaching mostly on paper / photocopies the whole year unless the printer is down, and i still feel like they’re not curious. We’re talking about sports now, read two articles about young Latino athletes and nothing, they didn’t want to do more, just get the questions done and over with. Even more than that sometimes they don’t even try with the questions. If it’s not a multiple choice, good luck getting some of them to put effort in giving a quality answer i agree. i definitely like doing stuff on the computer bc it’s just more organized for me personally and less to carry around. however what i HATE is reading on the computer. my adhd brain just can’t do it. our district tests for english are online and reading on that screen is just so difficult. it doesn’t even have a highlighting option
Music teacher here… It’s the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and same with us. I’m in elementary now, but when I was teaching middle and high school the apathy was absolutely pathetic. It’s the fact that we’re asking them to do something. It hardly matters what the activity is. Middle school band also. I teach general music throughout that day, and have volunteer beginning band. Before break we had about 75 in the beginning band, but after break it’s been halved…. Just because they don’t want to do stuff after school… unfortunately it is volunteer so I can’t tie grades to it, but it wouldn’t matter. They’re tired. They’re growing. So I wanted to go home and nap instead of after school band/orchestra. I hated mornings but if my friends were doing it, I’d go as well. So there’s always kind of been that. The lack of intellectual curiosity down here in K has me gobsmacked. They’re very passive learners. They’re not passive during recess or music, PE or free choice. But we had to teach them to ask questions. Like basic questions. Also consider the age at Covid. A lot has to do with the age of the kid during lockdown. I know, it’s exhausting. I agree! They are exhausted! We are a low performing school, so the school took away more special time in the spring… it’s kinda awful. It used to be an hour a week in each special, and now it’s 30 min a day. And cut PE time in half also.
We don’t want to teach to the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and test, so the kids feel that. They bought new curriculum this year and it sucks compared to the old, and we’re a little cranky about it, so your admin cuts the stuff that brings the kids back the next day. i’m a senior in high school right now and i relate in a way. the teachers will do something fun for us and my classmates will just complain saying “this is so stupid” but then they also complain when the teachers just stand in front of the classroom and lecture. like pick a struggle… it’s so frustrating and because of that i overcompensate and make sure to show my teachers my appreciation for the projects that they spend time to come up with and put together We appreciate you and students like you, believe me. If only we had ten students like you in our classes of 28-34 people it would already make a difference. i wish there were more people like me in the least egotistical way possible. we just need more students and parents appreciating our teachers for what they do. what a lot of kids don’t realize is the reason they get treated badly by teachers is because they’re dicks to them. i have never had a problem with a teacher except for last year because she didn’t follow my 504 and she was just passive aggressive and condescending but that wasn’t just to me. apparently all the guidance counselors hate her and want her fired but that still wasn’t my fault because even when she was being rude to me, i was still nice. even the time when she said i couldn’t have been sick for 4 days. i’ll admit i was slightly passive aggressive because i said “i’ll send you a picture of my trashcan filled to the rim with tissues” but other than that, i’ve always had amazing relationships with my teachers because i ALWAYS respect and appreciate them
I always get the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and “how can my kid raise their grade?” Email. Well, it would help if they did the work and submitted it, for starters! Unfortunately in a project based class I don’t really have much else to go off of I’m just surprised you get parent emails at all! I find the apathy both with students and parents. The one year I taught at a middle school I don’t think I ever had a parent respond to any emails I sent out. Why would the students care when the parents obviously don’t because it’s “just” art? :/ Unfortunately the elective teachers get the “this is my fun period so I can fuck off” vibes from the students after they struggle to achieve grade level competency in Ela/math If it makes you feel any better, they are fucking off in all of their classes, not just electives. They absolutely do not give one small fuck about anything related to an education.
Middle school math here, and yep. The kids just do not care about doing well. If they don’t have a sport to become ineligible in, they don’t turn in anything. Sub, but I was co-teaching in 8th grade LA and they can’t even be arsed to pretend to read their books or stop talking. The principal talked with them just before a break we had and they don’t care. I have subbed k-8 for over 10 years and I have hit the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and point that for my mental health I need to step away from the big kids as soon as they can find someone to cover my specific position and go to subbing only with elementary 5th grade math here. It’s the same. 0 fucks given. I’m looking to switch to an elective cause the 0 effort towards math has me banging my head against the wall. It looks like I’ll see the same as an elective teacher but at least I won’t have to do re-tests for math anymore
Middle school music teacher, can confirm. Bunch of kids sign up for the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and class thinking that it’s easy based on what they did in elementary school, then they complain because I make them play every day It’s not just the kids that think it’s only a fun period with no “real work.” I taught MS band for several years and there were regularly math and ELA teachers who would hold students out of my class if they were behind on work. It was infuriating – band is a collaborative class and when a part is missing everyone suffers! Plus they also got a grade for my class, too! It got so bad with one math teacher I had to have my principal intervene, and that teacher gave the stink eye every time she saw me for YEARS until she left, even after I transferred into the library media specialist position.
I wish I had words of wisdom for you but I’m going through the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and same motions right now with my fifth graders. None of these kids seem to care about anything if it’s not a TikTok video or a video game. At least you’re not alone? At the beginning of the year I gave NO creative choice; they had to replicate art EXACTLY as presented and their grade was blindly graded by the class. I present the art with no name, the students give a grade based on the rubric. They were BRUTAL in their grading and that somehow magically fixed their apathy. They couldn’t blame me for their grade and they knew their peers were going to be tough on them so they actually started working hard. Now, six months later I’m getting a level of work I’ve never seen before. 18 years in and this year that started as a living hell is somehow producing work I couldn’t have imagined. This is really cool and I’m really impressed you created a safe environment for this kind of student accountability in your class!
That’s awesome! And it’s realistic. My best improvement as an artist came as an undergrad when we did critique days. My classmates tore my work to pieces and I had to deal with it and get better. The only difference is, I had to present my piece, shitty or not, name and face attached. I get why you remove the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and names and I would do the same. I do gallery walls and have kids grade each other (it’s not their final grade). The kids just go “it’s nice. I Iike it. It’s stupid” like y’all I taught you more words. The first few rounds I asked for no extended, student provided feedback; they had to use check boxes on a detailed rubric to calculate a grade. The final grade given for the assignment was the averaged grade based on the rubric. They were brutal in the rubrics, and the grades reflected the level of work turned in. After a few rounds I gave sentence starters and heavily modeled the feedback. Since they had a place to start from, and were already familiar with the detailed rubrics, this step went quickly.
After that they were very familiar with what was expected of them feedback wise. They understood the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and rubric both from using it to grade others and from getting a grade themselves. The sentence starters removed the “it’s nice” nonsense. Now they receive a grade for their artwork AND the quality of their feedback. They roast each other masterfully based on the requirements of the assignment and it’s beautiful. I honestly started this out of desperation. I was so burned out from the apathy and lack of motivation that I just basically handed over the reigns to the kids and they ended up loving it. This is really cool and I’d love to implement something like this in an advanced middle school art class. But how do you deal with students who are special Ed? Do they still participate? There are some special education students who can produce wildly awesome art, but others who try their best and don’t get past scribbled looking art. How would you handle peer-grading in that case?
Except that is going to be illegal in most places. Glad you are getting good results, but if a parent around me found out that students were giving each other grades, stuff would hit the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and fan. Student led learning and peer feedback are a pretty big component of current teaching in my area. I’m sorry you’re not allowed to implement them. HS English, I gave my remedial 11th graders the option to write a very short essay or draw a creative infographic for their semester final in December, only 5 turned it in, 3 of them wrote “I don’t want to do this” and then drew pictures of clowns :/ My students all gripe about their art teacher/class too. Like bro draw your pictures and stfu lol. I tell them, not everything is this hill you need to die on.
HS Art-I have the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and same exact problem. Even the creative kids half ass the projects I expect them to soar at. Everyone destroys the materials and then complains that their brushes are crusty and the rulers are all bent or broken. I could give them the most exciting project ever, tailored perfectly for each kid, and they’d push it off and not work on it. One of the most frustrating parts of the job I feel like “one of the most frustrating parts of the job” is a huge understatement. Outside of building relationships and interacting with the students, the job is all about planning for learning, nurturing new skills, building a love for lifelong learning, seeing them have lightbulb moments, etc. We might be able to still build relationships with them if we want to talk to them about tiktok, but their complete inability to give AF about their own education overrides everything else.
I’ve honestly never had a group of students more resistant to doodling and coloring. This used to be the Michael Jordan American businessman and former professional basketball UNC T-Shirt and by the same token and fun part of English assignments but now it’s just extra work and effort. I told a kid last week, if he turned a map in like that again I’d use his terrible work for fire starter. I may work with kids with learning disabilities, but that doesn’t mean they can’t color inside the lines or know the difference between land and water on a map. I’ve had students who had accommodations for fine motor skills, this kid is not that student. This kid was lazy and thought it didn’t matter. He rushed through it to get it done and then had to re-do it or take the F. Foreign language teacher and same! A lot of the projects I do have some creative component and they hate it. Very disturbing. They don’t do anything small motor off the tablet. They color online. Therefore, they have no muscle memory for the writing and coloring motions we had. Then they get frustrated because they could just color a Matisse in five minutes online. They need to understand that comfort with using a writing instrument will be a gift to themselves. But they won’t. So they’ll be klutzes, too.
