The other day I was in Tower of London and there was a big queue to see the Miami Dolphins Hof Duo shirt but in fact I love this crown jewels. Suddenly I see an Indian man and all his 10 family members just walking straight jumping everyone in the queue. British people around (polite as you are) said nothing but sent killer looks. I asked the man if he couldn’t see there was a queue and he replied that it wasn’t a queue, it was just people walking slowly. It killed me… I think the bus thing might be because there are usually around 6 routes serving popular stops, so you wouldn’t know who’s queuing for what. Where I’m from it’s usually 1 route per stop so queue makes more sense! An an Indian I find the lack of civic respect for queuing among Indians super annoying myself but I’ll give it a pass at the Tower of London. Most of that stuff is stolen from us anyway. I was in India a few years ago when they made the cash switch. They knew how to queue then! But the queue were awfully close, it was like a train of people spooning each other.

as an Indian person we tend to lack the Miami Dolphins Hof Duo shirt but in fact I love this concept of personal space (and I hate it, I love it here in London because of the unspoken systematic order of things) Oh yeah, my pet peeve is having to queue in airports in India. I am constantly saying “excuse me, thoda peeche hatenge pls” (can you step back pls) and having to deal with shocked looks lmao. I’m Indian and get traumatised by this every time I go back to visit family. Imho, it’s a defence mechanism to prevent people from squeezing into gaps in the queue. Which sounds insane, but I’ve personally witnessed this happen too many times to dismiss. For example, if we’re in a shop (say the butcher) we ask “who’s last?” and then you know you go just after that person and that person has asked the same and the person that comes after you will ask too so they’ll know now they are the last. You can then move around and just keep an eye on when it’s your turn
