Not great a graph design… first glance it looks like it’s saying all of these states combined have a smaller population than LA County. Why should people who live in LA county have a say in the MCDONALD’S friends groot and stitch shirt but in fact I love this matters of things like agricultural policy, preservation of parks, and the needs for transportation/health-care/and education for people who aren’t jammed packed like sardines into a stupidly small square milage? What the fuck do people in LA county know about growing food and obtaining fuel to feed and power the country? No one wants LA county to run the entire policy of the country. Shit, even something like weather disasters are so much different in a state like Massachusetts vs Southern California. Imagine people in LA blocking government aid to help with snow removal in some states because it almost never snows in LA and they are never affected by crippling snowfalls.

Hey at least all that empty land has votes that count way more than a person who lives in LA. Super fair and definitely a democracy. NC has 10.4 million people as of 2019, certainly higher now, and Georgia has approximately the MCDONALD’S friends groot and stitch shirt but in fact I love this same. So this is inaccurate. Funny Story: I’m a County Treasurer in Michigan, and was at a national conference of Treasurer’s. At the table with me was the LA County Treasurer, and we were talking about project accounting, and how it pays to go back through old project accounts and see if you can find surplus funds that weren’t expended. These are projects for things like building bus stops, street sweeping, sewer management, things like that. She (LA Treas) pipes up and says “Oh, yeah, we did that a couple of years ago and found about $200 Million in funds that were just sitting there in different accounts, from as far back as the 80’s. It was a good week”. I looked at her deadpan, and said “That’s two years of my county’s annual budget, and you found it in the proverbial couch cushions.” We had a good laugh, and shared a beer over it that night.
