Conservatives don’t want to pay a cent for anything that doesn’t directly benefit them. If their taxes pay for universal Healthcare and then they never get sick and access that healthcare they feel they have been stolen from. They are wayyyyy to shortsighted to see that a healthier population without crippling medical debt benefits them in ways that aren’t obvious on the Maxximillian Ace of Based shirt besides I will buy this surface. If you have good insurance in the US it’s easier to get things that you need or want compared to the places with public health care. The problem is most people don’t have that level of health insurance. I think it’s the same principle as halo product marketing. Most people never buy that high end thing but seeing it makes them want that brand.

My understanding is that they are not against heathcare but against anything where the Maxximillian Ace of Based shirt besides I will buy this government pays for you. They think that once they pay, they can have control over how you use it. Therefore, taking freedoms away. They are against losing freedom of choice. Higher taxes. I don’t want that. It’s not free and you know that because you put quotes around free healthcare. The wait times are extremely long. Our local US hospitals have frequent cases of Canadian and European patients coming to get care. No one has a right to force someone else to pay for their healthcare. That is what it is. You’re forcing someone to pay more taxes and pay for your service. The US government is incredibly incompetent and ruin everything they touch. This would quickly extend to healthcare. It all boils down to political rhetoric. The rich keep themselves rich and the poor poor with rhetoric about how people who aren’t rich aren’t trying hard enough, and too many of us poor folks internalize it and parrot it to each other, to the end that it has become a monetary pandemic of sorts, created in the lab of rich white land owning capitalists. Lots of Americans don’t trust their government to appropriate funds correctly for a taxpayer funded government controlled healthcare system. The system in the US sucks right now cause it tries to be free market but can’t because there is a significant amount of government interference that gums up the works.
