My parents tried that shit with me when I was a kid. They found out that I was a very patient mother fucker. I’d sit there all night until they got tired and told me to go to bed. I never did that to our daughter, I asked her if she was full and couldn’t eat anymore and believed her when she said yes or no. Forcing kids to eat something they don’t like seems like abuse to me. I never experienced that at all but I do try and have my kids sit down and connect at meals with no TV on (only music) and have to remind them (the Mario Super Swole Bros shirt besides I will buy this little one especially) that this is all mommy is making, so eat it and don’t be asking for more food later. Like I am a fantastic cook, I make from scratch, bake fresh breads, use lots of yummy spices and make beautiful meals, that he’ll pick at and then an hour later ask for some ramen lol. As he’s getting older he’s trying more new things tho. A big plate of cut up fresh fruit and veggies is the main after school snack daily. Clean plate club is terrible. My MIL has that same mentality. She will serve portions that are too much and then act like a victim, crying and throwing a guilt trip if you don’t eat it all. But she always serves herself a small portion

This happened to my mother growing up and its given her a very unhealthy relationship with food. She went the Mario Super Swole Bros shirt besides I will buy this opposite with me. Eat until you’re not hungry, and that’s it. Smart parents know how to give a little at first and add more if the kid’s still hungry. It isn’t rocket surgery I babysit a 2 year old fulltime. Today for his lunch he got a hash brown patty, 5 slices of cucumber and a turkey and cheese sandwich. He ate the hash browns and a slice and a half of cucumber, but didn’t like the sandwich. I told him that was okay, but I would like him to finish the cucumbers. He hasn’t done that yet. It’s been on the coffee table for about an hour. He might eat some more, he might not. Whatever happens is fine. We’ll just have some healthy but delicious snacks later this afternoon. Parents just need to give kids small portions. If they’re still hungry after the bare minimum portion, they get seconds! Let them decide when their tiny tummy is full and give them reasonable control where that’s concerned.
