Looking out for wellbeing, they will get social workers involved. But it has happened outside of school so there isn’t actually much they can do. It’s more of a police matter. We can advise and prompt about social media, but ultimately it’s parents responsibility, believe me in the last 5 years online porn/media has been the babe of the school life. Whilst that’s a fair point it still makes sense to contact the police first to avoid any possibility of timewasting or fobbing off. This is a slanderous statement about the profession, the welfare of the child absolutely comes first under our statutory guidance and 99.9% of schools would absolutely not be covering it up.
