They are leveraging their machines and time as collection point for said charity. They probably have separate donation channel they go through already. Billionaires pockets, not even the workers of the company. Why the fuck would I give money to a business,. just do they can use MY MONEY TO DONATE IT and be exempt from tax????

Now come tax season, they can say “we donated X million dollars to charity this year” for insane tax write-offs with no impact on profit. I used to work for a charity that partnered with Whole Foods to do this. You’re partly right. Two things, tho: 1) Whole Foods can afford writing a giant check. However, WF has to weigh the possibility that every other charity is going to go to them thinking that they will dole out checks if asked. Not a good look for the investors, or the charities. 2) It raises awareness. Now you may not think that awareness is that important, but I assure you it benefits the charity in more ways that eventually lead to more donations down the line.
