My wife has multiple degrees and is working on another. I’m a high school dropout that got my GED a decade later. She calls me the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this smart one. She has no perception of distance/direction when driving, gets frustrated when I try to explain logical life concepts, etc. My wife and I were both National Merit Scholarship winners. We are smart and dumb in completely and wonderfully different (and usually gender-stereotype-defying ways). I graduated top of my class from a doctorate medical program. I work a high stress job making life and death medical decisions multiple times a day. Sometimes, I forget how to use a credit card reader. And I can’t get anywhere except my house and my job without a GPS. My brain only has room for so much stuff, and a lot of the basic life skills had to fall off for all that other knowledge to fit in.

Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt: A Unique and Creative Design

People are fast at things they find the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this right amount of challenging. When you’re smart, easy tasks are even more boring and you’ll be slower than someone who finds them to be the right amount of “hard.” Also from your other comment, I bet she does have ADHD which comes with a lower processing speed I think? She should definitely get tested if it bothers her! People with ADHD are often happier and more successful in everyday life with treatment. Some people work really hard at a academics to succeed. I suspect your wife was one of these. It doesn’t come easy but she works hard & it pays off. Differences in schools also add to this, but she wouldn’t have been in advanced courses at basic schools if she wasn’t mostly capable. My husband is very smart – aerospace engineer with a masters, PE, making good money. I learn new things 10x faster than he does and beat him at new board games several times before he learns and remembers all the rules. But he is very determined and dedicated and spends a lot of time studying something until he understands it. I learn faster and am also very smart, but he has a dedication to mastery that – to be honest – I don’t really have. Sometimes his slowness frustrates me, but I know he’s intelligent and capable in ways I don’t always see immediately.
There are a lot of different kinds of smarts, and having one kind of smarts doesn’t mean having another kind of smarts. We are conditioned in a way to think that smarts as measured in school is what constitutes smart. We can see these differences all over the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this place – planning, manual work, personal interactions, language learning, math, money management, etc. You can find people who are geniuses in one and absolute idiots in another, or rather they have strengths in one or some but not others. I was a pretty nerdy kid growing up, and kinda looked down on folks who didn’t seem to know what I considered basic information. I remember going over to my brother’s friends house down the street and he and his friends and some of their various family members were there just hanging out and talking about sports. They were rambling off stats and events and specific games from teams and individuals from the past couple of decades. Overall the ones I knew didn’t do particularly well in school.

About this Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt

It dawned on me. They were not more or less smart than I was, they had different interests and that drove their decisions in how to invest their time and mental faculties, and also what kind of information retention came naturally to them. That one dude has now been a delivery driver with a large company for over 25 years and also invested in a couple of condos. He has been a blue collar worker his whole adult life and has done quite well for himself and taking care of his wonderful family, and has been married for over 20 years and is sending his kids to college. That is smart and successful by any measure. I’m “book smart”, what most people think of when you talk about intellect. I was an honors student growing up, like your wife, but I also did a lot of extracurricular coursework through tutors, especially in math, English, and a few of the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this sciences. I took the ACT in 7th grade as part of an academic talent outreach program, and I beat the national average for high school seniors by 5 points—when I took it for real I got a perfect score. I won national scholarship contests. I even taught introductory-level calculus for a while, when one of my former high school’s math teachers had to take a six month leave for cancer treatments (she’s long since in remission and I was told that “my class” did great on the AP exams, so good news all around). Name a stereotypical nerd/child genius bona fide, and I probably have it.
For all that though—I’m fucking terrible with people. I’m disorganized and frequently scatter-brained. I couldn’t play chopsticks with a gun to my head, and I took piano lessons for YEARS, and tried hard at it. I’m clumsy and uncoordinated. I’m really, really horrible at doing a lot of things that the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this vast majority of people would consider easy and simple, like remembering when your bills are due, or grocery shopping, or cleaning the house. I’m not allowed to bake anymore, The Hague put a stop to it after the last time I tried to make brownies from scratch. My “real world skills” in general are just severely lacking. Schools are designed to screen for and raise up a very narrow idea of intelligence. You, and many others, get shafted in that deal. My best friend fell victim to this too. He’s insecure about his smarts—he was homeschooled up to high school, and feels like, on top of not considering himself super bright, he never got a real education. But you should SEE him talk to people. It’s genuinely awe-inspiring, I don’t know how he does it. He and I dropped out of college around the same time, both due to looming mental health crises, but where I floundered and struggled to find my way in a world where my vaunted book smarts had just become effectively useless, he hit the ground running and got into car sales. Within a YEAR, with zero experience in the industry, he went from scut work, to sales, to sales management, to running an entire department, and from there, he got poached by a high-end car company to travel around the country, teaching the salesmen at all of their dealerships how to better sell their products.
ONE. YEAR. One year. If I had a billion, I couldn’t match that trajectory in that industry. With zero experience, he walked through the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this door, and was almost immediately better than anyone. If that’s not genius, I genuinely don’t know what is. The point I’m meandering towards here is that while some people really are dumb, personally I think they’re a lot rarer than popular opinion might suggest. To very, very loosely paraphrase Einstein, I suspect that you may be a fish, while your wife is more of a monkey, and school is nothing but a series of increasingly tall trees. Your inability to climb them as well as she could doesn’t make you slow, nor does her inability to swim now that you’re out in the pond.
There are so many different strengths humans have and in schools it’s simplest to measure book smarts. Harder to measure everyday problem-solving skills. My MIL is a Dr. and Clueless when it comes to money and common everyday life. She was born in a house with one light bulb, basically dirt floors. She skipped multiple grades as a child. Normal common sense she doesn’t have. Her husband passed 15 years ago and handled it all. I try to help but it’s hard. She’s 60 so it’s not old age 174 more repliesThere’s intelligence and wisdom. I assume you have the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this wisdom, so I don’t need to explain further. Just because someone is “book” smart or “educated” doesn’t mean that they excel at common sense or daily tasks. Everyone processes things differently and have different life experiences and skills.
I was pretty good at school and graduated college with honors. I worked fast food one summer and was a bumbling, clumsy idiot. People have their own strengths and weaknesses. There are many different factors in intelligence and different types of intelligence. Some people are able to overachieve because of a hard work ethic. Some people can overachieve because of a good memory. Some people may be fast at arithmetic, but may have a difficult time with word problems or more abstract math. I was a smart kid, but I was also a slower test taker. I would doubt myself and spend time unnecessarily double checking things that I actually knew really well but was worried I would make a stupid mistake. I’m also slower at certain tasks because I can be a bit of a perfectionist.
Some people are very book smart, but lack common sense/basic skills. My sister is one of those. Absolutely aces everything when it comes to knowledge, but has zero common sense and ditzy Classrooms are a very special place. Doing well in them does not automatically translate to other environments. When academically successful people are no longer stimulated or have something to be stimulated about, their drive to do things goes down. I always heard it called street smarts vs book smarts growing up in Chicago. I was always street smart knew how work with my Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this hands. Loved history but I hating read writing ect. My brother and sister were book smart barely had to study understood everything. If you give them instructions to ikea they will fuck it up
My grandpa, before he died, had a PHd in physics and chemistry. He taught at universities in France, the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt and I will buy this US, and Taiwan. He produced gadgets for the US government that completely boggle my mind. He also had zero idea how to manage his finances, like at all. Completely unable to manage his budget and spending. And he did not have a complicated budget. He died destitute, even though he made great money from his company. Just as an example, he once bought a device for his company that cost 200K, used it twice, and sold it for 100K loss. I am very smart, my executive function is garbage though and results in my husband doing a lot of the housework because gets it done much faster than me. Another victim of the Gifted Student to Adult Who Didnt Work On Themselves Because They Thought Intelligence Was Inherent And Now They’ve Fallen Behind pipeline
My wife is an amazing ER doctor, and cannot add two-digit numbers in her head. I skipped multiple grades and failed one of my medical boards (not uncommon). When I was forced to go to a “boards boot camp” to make sure it didn’t happen again, I was joined by a bunch of my classmates …who’d gone to Harvard, Princeton, Johns Hopkins and one who’d designed missile radar systems for the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt Apart from…,I will love this Air Force. It’s not about horsepower as much as how well your brain is suited for a particular task. Is she slow but thorough? Fast doesn’t mean correct. My husband often makes comments about how long it takes me to prep a sink full dishes for the dishwasher. But when it’s time to unload the dishwasher my results are better every time. The amount of re-washing I have to do when he loads the dish washer is wild to me. He also “cleans” the house faster than I do. But he’s not cleaning the baseboards, vacuuming the return air vents, dusting, cleaning mirrors or windows. I change bedding and vacuum under the beds, I wipe sinks and counters before doing floors, he vacuums around anything big on the floor like laundry baskets or kids toys. So basically, yeah if you half ass something it’s going to be faster.
I have a college degree and a job that requires an extreme amount of detailed critical thinking, but I could get lost driving down a one way road with no turn offs. I also, according to my husband, have zero observational skills. We all have different skills and types of intelligence I find it odd you’re so focussed on comparing your achievements and thinking it should mean she’s better or faster at anything. You’re in a speed race against your wife in everything that she isn’t aware of. Maybe just let go of it and stop comparing yourself to her to find a way to feel above her. Does quickly actually have any relevance in what she does, or just to you? Same! My step dad was extremely smart. Had awards from college and helped design satellites, etc. But he had no understanding of how to interact with people or how to do simple things to keep the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt Apart from…,I will love this household together(my mom did all of that) It’s as if their brains can’t dummy down enough to use common sense or something? Or they probably just don’t want to deal with it if they consider it beneath them. I have a PhD and do cutting edge science. I am also fluent in three languages. Yet I can’t find my way in a grocery store. No one is good at everything. And I suck at a lot of things, particularly daily tasks.
One of my friends in high school was routinely the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt Apart from…,I will love this smartest person in the room, including teachers. He was valedictorian and at math/science competitions across the whole state everyone else was competing for 2nd. He’s now an orthopedic surgeon after finishing top of his class in med school and being selected to one of the most competitive residencies for orthopedics. Taking 15 minutes trying to figure out how to lengthen the middle seatbelt before giving up and having someone help him. Hopping out of the driver’s seat of a friends truck without putting it in park which required our buddy in the passenger seat to have sprawl all the way over to push the brake with his hand. Im an electrical engineer and the engineers I work with are excellent at what they do, but like my grandad would say “they couldn’t find their own asshole with a funnel”
Being “book smart” is a different skillset than being able to keep a home, hold an an engaging conversation, speak in public, etc. The skills it takes to write an essay are different than packing what you need for trip. Additionally, people who “intellectualize” things may take more time to plan – as an example, they may write out a whole list and make a careful budget prior to a trip and spend a whole day doing that before they even get to packing, while you might have already tossed everything you need into your bag and you’re getting nervous that they haven’t done anything that visibly looks like they’ve started packing. The best student i ever taught had several learning disabilities, including dyslexia. She was not “sharp” or “naturally gifted” by anyone’s standards. But she had put the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt Apart from…,I will love this time and effort into learning HOW to study, and more specifically, what studying methods worked for her. She was an absolute delight to tutor because she listened, took notes, asked questions, told me when she still didn’t understand something. Then she’d actually review her notes, and continue doing additional practice all week long, so that she’d have any given skill completely mastered by our next session. Despite always being in remedial courses through elementary and high school, she has been incredibly successful as an adult and recently completed her master’s degree.
Many “gifted” students (myself included) hit a wall when their natural talent runs out and they have no actual study habits or skills. I didn’t actually learn how to work hard to learn something until well into college, despite being in advanced programs all throughout high school. All this is to say there are different types of intelligence, and different types of learning. Perhaps your wife was naturally gifted at academics, or perhaps your wife is slow to learn bur incredibly disciplined about studying. Man, this is a pretty weird thing to think about your own wife. Have you ever had a conversation with her? Like, is she just your household chores robot and you have no other way to gauge her intelligence? My husband is well aware that I’m super smart but don’t have the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt Apart from…,I will love this executive function god gave a sea cucumber. Being good at tests and reports is a skill, like ice skating. Your wife was good at that skill. She’s not good at other skills. Like you were bad at tests and reports but really good at sounding patronizing as fuck when talking about your wife.
I can’t fix my car that doesn’t make me an idiot. She has different skills/knowledge than you do. I knew plenty of brilliant people who lacked skills I had, they were still smarter than me. You sound bitter. I’ve come to realize his brain is operating at so many different levels I can’t imagine; considering so many things about every scenario. We have all heard we use 10% of our brain. This is simply not true. Look at idiot savants, or even autistic individuals with great gifts in particular fields. Virtually every mental gift, takes something in return from a different part of our intellect/mind. Sometimes the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt Apart from…,I will love this cost is fairly small, sometimes far too large. Everyone is unique, love them regardless and be kind. Cheers! My wife has a friend who has her masters in psychology but she’s about stupid as it is possible to be. Which would be fine if she was nice or interesting or funny. Nope. She hates puppies! Like WHO THE HELL hates puppies? I’d even settle for “somewhat normal”. Nope. She has every neuroses known to man. Can’t eat things with faces but fine with meat (?), allergic to wind, asthma but only triggered by noises… crazy stuff like that.
Her husband stuck it out for about 5 years but he couldn’t stand her. She has literally dated everybody in her town and has run out of fish on plenty of fish. She is currently seeing 2 married men. Neither can stand her as a full time side piece. Her summer vacation is spent hopping across the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt Apart from…,I will love this country finding former acquaintances who are willing to put her up for a night or two which is about the maximum anybody can stand her. When she lands she pulls out a massive photo album stuffed with cash register receipts. She will spend literally hours going over each receipt and telling stories about each of them – books movies, shows. But each story is more boring than the previous (as this post is getting.Again, sorry for this but I’ve been triggered).
Every conversation or story must be 100% about her or relate directly to her. She is about as un-self aware as is humanly possible to be and literally dumber than a bag of rocks. To top it off she has a cackle that would make a wicked witch jealous. And she cackles a LOT. Like every other sentence. TLDR; Education is not the Live To Drum Drum To Live New York Yankees Shirt Apart from…,I will love this same as intelligence and intelligent people can have different abilities when it comes to the real world. Emotional intelligence, self awareness, kindness and a sense of humor are far more important traits. You are assuming academia translates 1 for 1 into the real world. The reality is that everyone thinks different and acts differently. That plays into how you are and what you do.
