No they are not trying to get a tax write-off. That’s not how charitable donations going to an intermediary works. They are doing it for the Life Is Better Around The Campfire Mountain Retro Camping Lover T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this public relations. So they can say they “raised $X for charity”. The store would not get a tax write off – the customers are the ones donating and would be entitled to the tax deduction if they chose to contribute. I don’t know why people can’t understand this simple fact. Every time I see this crap about stores asking you to “round up” there’s always half the people thinking the stores writing that off on their taxes for some reason. Yup, if I wanna donate to a charity I’ll do it on my own without reducing stop and shops tax burden like their the one who is donating

They put in a Sheetz right next to my moms house, and she went there to buy a slushy not long ago, and they asked her for a donation. Wasn’t even for any kind of charity, it was just a donation that would go to Sheetz. Lmao I wish more people would actually look into this. But easier to just “hate big corporations” when there is more than enough reasons too. Wdym I love to say no it gives me so much power I will wait until they’re done asking and I will politely decline with a no thank you I can feel the Life Is Better Around The Campfire Mountain Retro Camping Lover T-Shirt Furthermore, I will do this rush already oh the power I have muahaha Last time I was asked to tip was at this local donut shop. It’s a pretty awesome place, but you get those pretentious college kids who have nothing better to do and it makes the place just feel gross.
