the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this left-over frustration is being projected on “a company”, on “foreigner”, on “the devil” or whatever delusion people chose to sleep at night. Adam is not wrong, but what happens is that Adam gets mad at CNN for not pointing out the corporations and feels that that is enough so he doesn’t have to change ANY habbit. Because, why bother to change if it’s others being the problem. I,m gonna put on my NIKE’s, eat a steak from the other side of the world and complain about big corpo on my smartphone. As long as i have a “company” to blame it does’nt matter what i do, i can just be their customer AND have someone to blame! I am so fucking sick of seeing that argument, it is so bloody stupid. WHY DO YOU THINK THESE COMPANIES ARE PRODUCING POLLUTION??? It’s for consumers! It’s for you! Idiots acting like people just open up big pollution factories to make pollution. Cant remember how many times I have seen people on this site use this exact argument. Ah yes, deflecting personal responsibility and everybody praising it because it allows them to do the exact same thing and just complain about big corps while doing jack shit to help. They say “what you can do”. They only forgot the most important one that is “vote for a government/president that put this subject as a priority”.
Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater, long sleeve tee
Then it’s true that the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this impact of one person is almost not influent, but it can affect the neighborhood, then the city if small etc. For bigger results you need politics. Individuals should do what they can. But personal efforts won’t work if massive contributors are let off the hook. I love the line “eat less meat”. Yeah, simple as that, right? It’s because these chuckleheads simply look at output figures and that settles the debate. So here is a huge spoiler to those fine folks at CNN: Farming takes a lot of land. You need a huge amount of land to run a commercial farm that literally provides the food your nation either consumes or sells in return for an economic boost. Crops need water to grow. Water needs rivers. They need canals to channel the water to where it needed. They need millions of dollars worth of personal investment from farmers to put up irrigation. They require extremely expensive farm equipment to cultivate the lands. They use a lot of water. They use a lot of pesticide. They use a lot of fertilizer. If anything in the system causes a hickup to the supply of the aforementioned needs, your crops will fail. Meanwhile, cattle farmers and sheep farmers can take barren land and run a business off it. Just supply some drinking water and your little sheepies can go into the field and eat the little bushes. While you still have cattle theft, coyotes and disease to deal with, it literally is possible to run the farm on bare bones. You can run a ranch in an area where a fruit or vegetable crop would be impossible.
Then you get to the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this other problem: Starting a citrus farm in Minnesota in suicide. Likewise, starting a banana farm in Nevada or an apple farm in Arizona. You will lose your shirt and you will be clobbered at the markets. Fruits and vegetables are bound to the climate and in order to supply a balanced diet, you need to source your veggies from all over the country. So are we factoring in the cost of fuel to ship all of these goodies? Are we factoring in the CO2 emissions from the company that makes the plastic irrigation pipes? How about the fertilizer? How about the pesticides? Are they telling me these are less harmful than cow farts? Here is the truth of the matter: if you take out meat production, there is literally no way to increase fruit and vegetable yields to make up the shortfall – this means people starve. No, it’s not hard to increase vegetable production up like that, no it’s not even very hard, it is very literally impossible. So next time someone feeds you that line how eating vegetables is better for the environment, just ask if they include pesticides, fertilizer and fuel as part of their claim.

People always love easy solutions such as “corporations are responsible for the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this emissions, so I dont have to consume less/better”. They produce for consumers (e.g. meat industry). People just dont want to admit they are part of the problem. PSA: for those who don’t know, a jumbo jet has about an order of magnitude better gallons per miles per passenger efficiency. The real statement should be: do not travel long distances like you have Rick Sanchez’ teleportation gun. Do not live a life were you have to commute over distances that would have taken people 3 months to accomplish 100 years ago. And second PSA which is probably not going to get appreciated, but corporations exist solely to provide services. I’m not saying they aren’t to blame – I think they are – but the reason why they exist is because people buy their goods and services. No corporation on earth exists that just sits there and emits CO2 but doesn’t serve consumers…
Corporations need to clean up their acts. And people need to stop buying stuff that’s insanely harmful to mfr, so that corps are not motivated to make that kind of stuff. And if we taxed the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this sh*t out of the billionaire class they would not be able to rack up personal emissions profiles that exceed those of small nations. This factoid is willful misinformation. It credits the airlines with creating all the pollution and the passengers with creating none of it, oil companies with burning their own oil, and so on. The people pushing it never follow up and try to stop corporate pollution, because they barely believe their own claim. It’s just an excuse to do nothing when asked to help. Like most of us have a choice. Do you think everyone can afford an electric car or has sufficient transport infrastructure to go to work with a bus or train? A train ticket is about 10x the price of a plane ticket. That’s not people’s fault if that’s the case. You can thank the government and the corporations. Ok, but that isn’t what that CNN post was saying. It said that these are things that individuals CAN DO to help. Not blaming them for climate change… I’m pretty sure everyone knows at this point that most of the climate change issue is about corporations and nations.
– I will not swap my car for a bus or a train. I find it convenient to travel by car and its comfortable and because I can do so. Yup, middle fingers to all those pathetic people suffering (and even dying) from the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this effects of climate change in developing countries even though they’re the least responsible for them 🖕🖕😊😊 I’m getting tired of doing my tiny part when I see people who really could have an impact just giving the planet the finger. Both are correct. But what-about-ism is still not helping the situation vote with your wallet, do something about it. While i agree with what is said here, iam still wondering, These Companys produce goods we want to have? Right? They not just polluted the planet without a reason. So we are kinda still part of this? And a bus ride is not less poluting than a plane trip. A train is, if it is an electric train and the electricity is not produced by coal. So if you live in the US, take the plane. That’s so far from a clever comeback it’s not even funny. These 100 corporations, do you think they’re emitting greenhouse gasses for fun? Because they want to see the world burn? No, they are producing meat, fuel and other products we consumers choose to buy. We as consumers have all the power to pick what products to use, and time and time again we choose the option that is fast and easy but leads to more greenhouse gasses. Blaming the companies who produce these products is like blaming the weapons manufacturers for all the gun deaths.
Now, to continue that analogy, I’m not saying weapons manufacturers deserve none of the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this blame for deaths caused using their weapons. It’s a complex problem where capitalist greed, spineless lawmakers and a hostile population prone to violence all bear some of the blame. The exact same is true for greenhouse gas emissions. When a news source points out that you as an individual actually have immense power to control how much greenhouse gas you emit, and give relevant tips on how to do that, nothing is less helpful than some asshole trying to shift the blame away, because it will make people stop trying. Lying to people and telling them that they have no responsibility and agency when they actually do pacifies the population and makes sure that an otherwise completely solvable problem remains forever. People like Adam Johnson are a big part of why we haven’t come further with solving green greenhouse gas problem.
Reminding you that those corps produce shit like for example fuel, which you should consume less to put preassure on the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this market so market has tocome up with something less shit. Pointing fingers at others when your actions is needed is as coward as it can get(aside from doing it whilst carrying concealed because your whole nation is paranoid as shit) Those corporations are mostly producing consumer products such as meat and transportation fuel. You can lobby your politicians and change your investments, and maybe it will change things (doubtful), but you can definitely change your consumption patterns right now, and it will definitely change things. Also, instead of blaming people who book a flight and share a plane with dozens of others, maybe tell politicians and rich people to stop flying across half the globe on their own in private jets.
…and those same corporations are owned by corporations that also own CNN (see also Fox and all others); it’s no coincidence. Stop watching the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this corporate news. Well yes but they sell their stuff to people… individuals in rich countries need to make different choices, but the ones who really need to step up is the rich folks. No more private jets, no more luxurious yachts, no more going to space for funzies. Tax the rich and outlaw their extremely polluting lifestyle. Sort of like how the government NEEDS unemployment to keep inflation down so actually causes said unemploment to the tune of around 4 percent then has the utter gall and temerity to go after welfare recipients or in their words “dole bludgers”. Can anyone dispute this ? Always pisses me off when anyone tries to blame individual choices or habits as the reason for climate change when even if they managed to convince most the population to change personal habits it would still be insufficient, as corporations are the ones doing most the damage and the only way to change that is through new laws in all countries and strong punishment that isn’t just a fine and a slap on the wrist. If you fine something like this it just becomes the cost of doing business.
the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this more the serfs reduce their carbon foot print the more the corporations can increase, without the country incurring penalties. To be fair, those corporations advertise on CNN so… It’s the same as political ads with absolute lies. They pay the same as truth per spot. the whole “litter bug” thing was a created by a group of corporations like soft drink and fast food conglomerates who dont get me wrong, please dont litter, but dont think the insane about of trash that is all over the place is because of larger system at play. Every time i see that someone brings up the big companies stand for most of the pollution is shake my head and die a little inside. The fact that big companies pollute the most is still not an excuse for the everyday person to not take any steps to improve their own wasteful lifestyle. Weird thing to bring up when someone wants companies to take steps to improve their wasteful processes. Almost like you think the companies are totally innocent, but like companies are made of evil people too, it’s not just the idiot masses… This study is misquoted a lot. 100 companies have emitted 71% of green house gases since 1982. Livestock represent 14% of global ghg emissions at this moment. Switching to a no/low meat diet is 100% necessary for a sustainable future. Personal transport also represents a large portion of global ghg and walking/biking/public transport are especially low hanging fruit to meet clmiate needs. As humans we all need to contribute. You can’t use misquoted headlines like this to absolve yourself of responsibility.
It’s always been clear to me that the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this working class has no power and therefore no responsibility to fix society’s problems. Society’s problems are the responsibility of those with power to fix. It’s the wealthy that are to blame. ‘Journalism’ gotta be the only job I know that you can consistently be incompetent, but still be successful If only we as individuals had a way to designate a representative who would fight for our best interest in governments. /s Seriously though America stop the blue vs red game and start forcing politicians to do what you want not what the biggest donor wants. Reminder that the best thing individuals can do is not have kids. Not only is this better for the environment, it’s also worse for capitalism because you’re not giving them more workers. Agriculture is part of the problem. By the public making small changes in their diets those can be partially addressed.
Yes, particularly with the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this first baby. I used to work in animal rescue and there were so many new moms rehoming their pets for no particular reason except the general worry that the baby might be exposed to danger (some examples that don’t involve attacking: Dirtiness, parasites, accidental smothering, knocking over/being “too rough’, nipping when stealing food from their hands). Many seem to go through an overprotective phase where everything is a possible threat. I assume it’s some kind of evolutionary thing. I’m expecting our first in April, and I have a lovely orange cat who shows affection through nibbling. I think a few squirts from the water spray bottle will be enough to dissuade her from doing that to the baby, the same way we dissuaded her from showing her brand of love to the house plants. I do believe one can’t leave a pet and a kid unattended until the kid is quite grown, though. My cousin’s two-year old pulled her boxer’s tail, and he ended up snapping at the baby to show his displeasure, which resulted in a gash over the head and a few stitches. It’s an otherwise lovely dog, but animals should never be put in that position.
I’ve always had dogs so that’s my reference, but in a pack it’s normal behaviour to display displeasure with growling and eventually snapping at a puppy. They aren’t trying to attack the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this puppy or anything, that’s just how they discipline. No. We take reasonable precaudtions where we don’t leave her alone unsupervised with the animals, but we are not concerned with them hurting her intentionally. We do have one big dog so once she’s more mobile we will have to have closer supervision but it would be accidentally knocking into her, nothing aggressive. When we introduced them, we took precautions and had the dogs on leashes and used a squirt bottle to teach the energetic one to stay out of her face. We haven’t had issues since but continue to supervise
Yes! I was an ER nurse for 15 years before I had my first baby. I have seen so many horrible dog bites to kids. My anxiety was super high after having a baby. We gave our dog to my parents when my baby became mobile. My anxiety could not tolerate it. Even 3 years later I don’t like my daughter to be near dogs especially touch them. I was very careful with my cat and my baby. I kept seeing with my mind’s eye the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this sharp claws ripping that soft, soft skin or the teeth making holes… I didn’t trust the cat with my baby. I never let them be alone together. When the baby was small, the cat avoided her. Maybe buffed her head on the baby’s belly very friendly, but always moved out of the way if baby tried to grab tail or fur. And if the baby made noise, the cat just left the room. But when baby was… maybe 2 years? Then the cat seemed to decide baby was big enough to be raised properly. Cat let baby pet her and didn’t move away like before. But if baby was too rough, the cat would grab the hand or arm with her teeth! It looked terible and scared both me and baby. But there was no bite. Only “information”: I don’t like what you just did! The child quickly learned.
Nah, we’ve had lot of pets and all of my kids grew up with them since they were babies, and let me tell you that dogs are very gentle with them. My kids especially loves our Rotties and German Shepherds and they were all so careful around them I used to work in a sports centre and a nice woman used to come to the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this gym. One day she popped in for ten minutes to collect something and left her rottie tied up outside. He was a lovely dog (smelly but lovely). Anyway I was just standing by reception when another woman came up to complain about the “dangerous dog” tied up outside. Just as she said “it could attack a child” two kids of about 8 and 9 came racing round the corner, saw the dog and jumped on him, forced him to the ground and proceeded to wrestle him. The dog loved it, the kids loved it. It turned out they lived next door. The “dangerous dog” woman just walked off. Dogs don’t act in unpredictable ways. We as humans are arrogant and ignore distress signals often from our pets. A human child is a considerable danger to an animal in most cases. It is never surprising when an animal being trapped or harassed acts like an animal. Supervision and being realistic about your pets comfort zones is important.
Unless your dog is unstable now then you shouldn’t have a problem. Stable dogs do not change to become unstable without some external force acting on them illness, tumor, trauma. Watch the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this child/animal interactions and know your dogs tells. Dogs give body language warnings and you should know those well. Children should be taught to be gentle with dogs from early on • you subconsciously already think the dog might harm someone but you don’t care if the dog attacks anyone else, only your own flesh and blood • you don’t think the dog would harm anyone and therefore this is an irrational thought and you need to speak to your doctor I trained my cat not to go in my daughter’s bedroom before she was even born. Even when my daughter was older, and tried to coax her in, she would only lay in the doorway.
I’m having my first baby in a few months and have two dogs. I’ve got no worries at all. My dogs are incredibly soft and loving and baby won’t be left alone with them at any point for months and months. And even when that time comes it’ll be for seconds if anything. I’m going to introduce them slowly and calmly and have lots of faith in them adapting to their new friend in no time. I’ve got a cat. I was worried as I’d heard stories of cats sitting on and smothering babies (no idea if these are actually true) so bought a cover for the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this crib. Since then I have mostly found that the cat loves sitting on baby stuff and in the cot but absolutely not if the baby is there, or at least not for very long. We usually shut him out at night just in case anyway.
Amazingly despite my now toddler being incredibly drawn to pulling cats tails, he has never been scratched by my grumpy cat (though he really deserves it!) I don’t think she’d do anything, but I’m also aware she’s an animal and it will change the Let’s All Go To The Lobby Bar The Roosevelts Shirt besides I will buy this dynamic of the household, so will take some adjusting. The plan is to not leave them alone together and to control as much interactions as possible. My dog is pretty protective of my husband and I, (particularly me), so hopefully this will extend to the baby. But she is also a rescue so I tend to be cautious just to be safe. Animals can tell the difference between adults and babies/ children (not just human ones- animals can also tell a baby animal of another species) and they generally are gentler and more careful with babies of any kind. Not always, and you certainly should never leave a baby or small child unattended with an animal, but in my experience (I have 3 children, all teens now and they have been exposed to various animals including our own pets) a dog will automatically know that’s a fragile little baby and will treat it as such. Again- not ALL dogs will react that way and some will need more close supervision than others- but for the most part dogs tend to see their master’s human baby as their new baby.
