I have one inside and one outside. The outside one is a half feral, rescue, neutered. I have him for a specific reason-pest control outside. He has a home-with a warm, safe place to sleep, a regular feeding schedule, toys, I can pick him up. He will come to certain people at certain times. The one inside is also a rescue-declawed-yes, yes-I’m cruel-I know. He gets to sleep on top of me, wake me up, act a fool inside my house when he choices. And still abuse me, despite not having claws as he sees fit that’s like having a whole child and never letting them out of the house ever. you’d call that abuse. it’s fucked up to never let a cat outside. they need/want fresh air and sunshine just like any other mammal I apologize for what people in North America do to their cats, but I’m not the president of the united states and or the prime minister of Canada and can’t make them stop

I don’t get the Let the Moonlight be your Muse the moonlight workshop artwork T-Shirt but in fact I love this point of having a cat that you let loose into the wild. That’s not a pet, that’s a nuisance to the neighborhood. The only reason I tolerate the outdoor cat on our street is because I want him to kill any mice before they get near the houses. Can’t speak for smaller suburban neighborhoods but we have 2 cats that live in an outbuilding and keep the rodents out. They have access to a cat door to let themselves in and out whenever they wish. They are adopted from the humane society which in our area has a ‘barn cat’ adoption program specifically for unfriendly cats picked up by animal control, who are scared of people & thus don’t make desirable pets. I will say, In Singapore, some of my neighbours do in fact allow their cats to go out. Sometimes, their cats won’t even have a collar so its hard to differentiate them from actual stray cats. Reasons why, I am not sure but it can be annoying when you pet a random stray cat and then some dumb uncle shouts at you to leave his pet alone.
