You didn’t break up with him because his lack of cooking skills. You broke up with him for us weaponized incompetence and emotional immaturity. Fuck that guy. This has less to do with cooking and more with personal responsibility. Guy just wanted someone to wipe his ass and you shouldn’t have to do that. Didn’t read this whole post but yea. “Can’t cook pasta” will soon become “can’t change diapers” will soon become “can’t make you orgasm.” Sounds like dead weight. If after 8 months he didnt bother to improve at all? Yeah, he’s well past the Lady Ruby Stay Strong Lady Ruby T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this point of no return I’m with you here, pretty fucking childish across the board on his end through and through. Unpopular opinion, the average person has no reason to be completely incompetent at cooking. Especially to the degree you’ve described. If he can’t take care of himself and live on his own, I’d rather die than pick up his slack. Good on you. He doesn’t deserve you It’s called the mental load. He wasn’t sharing it on anything, which is frustrating and leads to feelings like you have.Like dude, how can you live if you can’t feed yourself? Or pick up after yourself? Or think ahead about any of these things?!? Damn right you’re shaming him for not knowing how to cook! If a grown adult doesn’t know how to turn an oven on, or has to wait for someone else to come home and feed him because he doesn’t have the wherewithal to use the microwave, that is a PROBLEM.

It’s not just that he can’t cook, it’s that he made it to this point in adulthood without even bothering to try to learn. What did he do for food before he started dating you? Starve to death? This is an extreme example of weaponized incompetence, and you are absolutely right for not putting up with it. When I met my gf who can cook and bake and all that cool stuff, I couldn’t even boil water (like, how much bubbling do you need for it to boil, you know?). With her guidance, within a few months I was already cooking the Lady Ruby Stay Strong Lady Ruby T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this basics like rice, eggs, pasta, meats, veggies, etc. Anyone can learn how to cook, it’s just whether they take the time to learn and have the right attitude. I wanted to learn so I could treat my gf, since she took care of me. Sounds like this guy was just a real piece of work. If after 8 months he can’t be bothered to help you out even with chores when you work so much, have kids to look after, and can’t do shit for your bday… he’s not worth your time. I’m glad you dropped him. You’re at a point in your life where you need a partner, not a teenage relationship with all the silly childishness that a young relationship brings.
