People even look very different (especially in the case of Bandung). Also go and check out the the Gunung Padang site! That was actually really impressive to me.

I found that I mostly disregarded travel advice from Indonesians in Indonesia during my 2 months there. Their idea of fun was quite different from mine. The best food I had in Jakarta was some random fried duck place that rocked. I tried a lot of Indonesian food there and found it to be average at best.
