I’ve also been “off the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this sauce” since May, I feel like I look 10 years younger, I’m down ~45lbs, I have the luxury of never being hungover or having “hangxiety”, I sleep better & I genuinely feel like a happier and healthier person overall. Life is very cool sober, and there’s a lot of folks who don’t drink out there who have active and fun social lives. Honestly, know yourself and the risk. Reddit treats alcohol like it’s something that will ruin your life after the smallest drop, which it absolutely CAN, but it’s also a little dramatic at times. It’s not great for your health, obviously. It’s also not the end of the world to drink sometimes in moderation. But if you feel like you have addictive tendencies, or you’re starting to fall into a habit, stop and never look back. You don’t need it, and you’re not missing out on a huge part of life. You don’t have to drink to fit in if you don’t want to. But, it can be nice to have a drink now and again and it can be fun while socialising. You’re not destined to be a lifelong alcoholic if you have a beer every now and again. Having your first drink is not like trying heroin (DON’T), it’s important to be realistic and understand the nuance
kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt: Get Cozy in this shirt
I don’t drink and I have a very full life and am missing nothing as a result. (plus I have more money from not drinking) I never intended to start drinking until last year when I started bar tending. Figure I should at least know what the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this drinks I make and pour are like so I can make recommendations and such. If I didn’t work as a bar tender I’d probably still be a sober guy. I’m not an alcoholic or anything and I don’t rely on it to function, but to not even start drinking if you have no interest in it is the best thing you can do. I was in the same situation as you in high school where lots of people around me would go to parties and get drunk and such but I didn’t care for it. Same thing for a year and a half of university (which is obviously one of the biggest places for parties and drinking when you’re young), lots of dorm parties, my roommates would occasionally have buddies over who would have a beer or two but I just didn’t care- not that I was evem pressured by them to drink at all. They were chill guys When I was younger all my friends would always ask how I have so much money saved. it was purely from not drinking and going to clubs.
I’m 24 and four years sober. People laugh at me for “giving up” so early, as in I was supposed to get drunk all the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this time in my twenties. But this is Canada! I got drunk when I was 15 and couldn’t stop Then I was diagnosed with autism and I realized two things: 1, I am a ridiculous lightweight. One beer felt like 5. I couldn’t control myself or just be slightly tipsy. I couldn’t even enjoy one mimosa on Christmas Day because I was spilling stuff and saying embarrassing shit. It’s the same with weed, psychedelics, amphetamines… everything I’ve tried hits me much harder than anyone I know. 2, it was the only way I’d feel normal. If I’m being awkward or embarrassing or silly, blame the booze. Everyone is drunk, nobody is judging. It made socializing much easier and lowered my anxiety.

About this kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt
Then I started going to school drunk. I carried a flask of vodka in high school and probably reeked of it in class. I thought I was cool, but I definitely should’ve just hung out with better people. I felt dependent on it and like it was a gift I could enjoy every day. But again, couldn’t handle it like normal people which I didn’t realize. Not drinking has been the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this best decision I’ve ever made. I was depressed when I drank. I’d SH and cry while drinking alone in my room as if it was a fun activity. I’d probably be dead if I stayed that way. Not drinking saves you so much money, and gives you excuses to get tasty drinks like soda or coffee instead. You get to ‘treat yourself’ or even reward yourself for not getting alcohol. You get to be on a bit of a high horse too. Being sober is like being vegan or doing CrossFit lol. Keeping track of sobriety gives you bragging rights and reaching your goals makes you happy. It’s a huge achievement. Don’t do it buddy. There are zero upsides to drinking. If you want to be more relaxed and know how to talk to people, you just need to practice. Spend money on Toastmasters if you’re nervous talking to people.
Answer: yes, it is a good idea to not start drinking. It has taken me 18 years to lose the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this beer weight I gained in college. Being able to enjoy events and situations without alcohol is big, a lot of people NEED it to even enjoy themselves at a party for example. Biologically speaking, alcohol damages your body every time. The thing to think about is the social aspect. Low social life/isolation will kill you far quicker than light even moderate alcohol consumption. You say you’re “not really into parties”, why? How many have you been to? And how many different types of parties? Because parties and party like events are good fun whether you have a drink or not. They’re what you make of it, if you find 18 year old high school parties boring or unappealing, then make them fun, take the initiative to do something different at the parties. If you don’t want to party because of fear, that’s not a good enough reason, in which case you should (within reason) so that you can see what you actually like/dislike about them. Alcohol gives you cancer anyway. People just drink it to lower their inhibitions, but there are obviously healthier ways to build confidence than to pump toxic chemicals into your brain.
You’re not lame. You’re being wise. I didn’t drink in college. My dad was a drunk, and after seeing that firsthand, I was like “No, thanks!” People in college do tend to go to parties to drink, but not all the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this time. Just find friends who don’t pas out drunk all the time. For the nights that they did want to drink some and have fun, I was always the DD (designated driver). Even if you go to a nice bar, you can order virgin drinks (like Piña Colada w/o alcohol). Or even just a soda. Restaurants often have specialty drinks like lemonades and just use that opportunity to try one of those. 30yr old here. I’m Australian and I’m not a fan of drinking. In Australia there is a perception that everyone drinks and you have to enjoy it, but newer generations are waaaay more accepting to those who don’t fancy alcohol. There are other drinks available in a social gathering, and mocktails are super delicious. Also, alcoholism runs in my family due to addictive behaviours and I don’t want to accidentally fall into that. I personally hate the strong bitter taste of alcohol, and i don’t really like the buzz people seem to love. That being said I drink like once or twice a year in a social gathering that has good cocktails cause they’re super sweet and cover that disgusting alcohol taste.
Basically, if you’re not into it, that’s actually really good. Your friends should accept that you don’t drink. There is a mountain of evidence to suggest that very bad drinking problems are largely genetic so look at your family history and make decisions accordingly. 34-year-old here who doesn’t like to drink either. Your brain cells will thank you for it, and your liver will love you forever. Don’t be another drone that slowly gets dumber every day just because society says you should be drinking like everyone else. It’s not a great idea. The benefits to risks math just does not work out. Best case scenario you drink “normally”. It will probably be fun for a while. However, even at that level alcohol increases your risk of heart disease and cancer. In the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this worst case scenario you could become addicted. In which case you would do even more harm to your body, and probably ruin your life in the process. It’s a lose lose situation.
When my cousins and siblings reached 18 I always bring them out and buy them some alcohol so they will get a taste of it and understand alcohol with me monitoring them. Then they do whatever they want afterwards, it’s important to understand just how dangerous it is. Not to be an adult about this, but if you don’t wanna drink, don’t. I guarantee you will not give 90% of these people a second thought five years from now. If you are at a party, you can always put your non-alcoholic beverage of choice in a red solo cup to avoid the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this “why aren’t you drinking?” of it all, but again, do what you feel is best. It sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders. I’ve spent thousands of dollars on booze in 17 years. I think what I could have bought or where I could have travelled with that money. Many people once commented how young I looked for my age when I was in my 30s. Not so much these days. I’m almost 100% certain that alcohol accelerated the ageing process for my appearance, but what do I know for sure? There’s no way to prove it.
I could have had just as much fun sober as I had drinking. More perhaps, since I could have driven and maybe remembered more the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this next day. Not to mention feeling better the next day. It messes with sleep, and as a man who has had sleep problems since I was in my 20s, let me tell you sleep is valuable. There are so many more reasons to avoid alcohol than there are to drink it. Two years ago, I began cutting back on my drinking and I can already tell you I’m feeling better physically and mentally, overall. I’m looking forward to getting back to my pre-drinking-days self. It may be considered lame by those that love to party. But those aren’t your friends right? And you don’t have that interest in common so who cares right? There’s plenty of ppl out there that have as little interest in drugs or drink as you…lame tho they may be. (I’m kidding…sorta. Sorry I’m one of those that likes to party)
If I could take back every $$$ I’ve spent on drinks and instead invested it. I wouldnt be having a hard time getting a downpayment for a home. If you know how to have fun without drinking. Then I would say do it. You don’t need alcohol to enjoy apending time with friends or having fun. Wish I knew this when I was 18. Now I’m 30. Yup; don’t do it. There’s no real payoff in the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this end….you can kill time and socialize over a Pepsi just as easily as a gin and tonic. Particularly if you feel like the addictive part of you is there, this is an important self-awareness to pay attention to! And one most folks your age are not even remotely aware of; so good on ya. I’ll keep it a buck, don’t do anything you don’t want too. I barely partied when I was younger and I don’t drink often aside from partying it up last year every weekend, but that’s because I was in the right place in my life to have some fun(27 years old, make good money, bills paid and living comfortable). If you do choose to be responsible and do it when YOU’RE ready around GOOD people who will watch your back and make sure you don’t do anything stupid.
When I was 18 I had no desire to drink or try drugs. Best decision ever. Saw so many people die over the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this years, especially alcohol related. I (39M) never started drinking, zero regrets. I have tasted a few different kinds of drinks at different times, never enough to feel anything, but enough to know that the taste is awful. I’m 68; I drink little enough that every doctor I’ve had just marks “Non-drinker” on my forms. I don’t feel I’ve missed anything by it – and compared to some of my friends I’ve saved a ton of money (that I’ve spent on other things that interest me a lot more than drinking, like board games). I mean drinking in and of itself isn’t bad, but kids tend to do stupid shit, and alcohol inhibits stupid shit, so it’s not a bad idea to not drink. I enjoy a beverage on occasion, but I’m just as fine not drinking. Events centered around alcohol consumption get old quick, so you’re not missing out on much.
Avoid booze. There are zero benefits to drinking. Wish I have never started. You are healthier, you save money and you aren’t missing anything. Just tell people you don’t drink, good people will respect it, and those that dont, you don’t want them around . Don’t do something YOU don’t want to do. However, if you do decide to drink, ask if you can drink with your parents or someone you trust in a low threat environment to get a feel for it. It’s what I did. I learned really quick that 2-3 drinks was acceptable and sometimes enjoyable, 4-6 is borderline, and anything more than that in a night was a mistake. It helps to understand and stick to your own boundaries if you do it in a safe space first.
Yes, you’ll be a bit of an outcast if you don’t. That goes double for your 20s and 30s. And alcohol really kicks ass in moderation. But if that’s not what you wanna do, fuck it. Don’t let anyone give yiu shit about it. You’ll be missing out on a side of yourself you might really love, but the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this downside is that you may love it too much. Im 21 and have been an alcoholic since 18 but started at 14. If i could go back and change one thing about my life it would be to never drink. 3rd day sober today in over a year and hoping to stay clean What’s lame is doing things to appear a different way to others- sticking to who you are or want to be isn’t lame and people who shame you for doing things different to them just show you what a red flag they are as a friend. Be yourself, if you don’t want to drink, don’t; but don’t feel ashamed, it’s actually a strength most people don’t have.
Literally the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this best decision. I gave up alcohol this year at 39 and I’m so glad I did. Never liked it all that much anyway. I just didn’t want to be left out. Good for you! It’s definitely not lame. I used to drink A LOTTT in my teens & even at 20. I lost my brother when I was 21 due to his own alcoholism and I pretty much decided then & there that I was basically done with alcohol because it broke me to continue consuming the exact thing that had just taken my only blood sibling away from me. That was January 2009 and I don’t actually think I will ever recover from that. My husband also doesn’t drink because alcoholism runs in his family from his younger brother & dad. We’re both 36 1/2 now and we might drink once a year, if that. As of today’s date, neither of us has drank since New Year’s Day 2023. We don’t miss it, and we don’t feel like we’re missing out due to not drinking.
Yes. In my humble opinion, not starting a known addictive substance, that is otherwise a gasoline additive, is probably best not to start. Yes. It is a fantastic idea to not start drinking. Sobriety is not lame. What’s really lame is getting a DUI, getting arrested, crashing your car, accidentally getting someone pregnant, starting a fight and getting the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this shit kicked out of you, choking on your vomit, and paying a shit ton of money to engage in these fine activities. Like smoking, drinking can become habitual, bad for your health, and very expensive. Smoker of 20+ years, and daily drinker for the last 4+ years. Last year I was spending at least $350 a month on cigarettes, and alcohol a month. I get my stuff cheap, and drink at home. I have heard of smokers/drinkers spending upward of $500-700 a month. Public drinking is even more expensive. You risk gaining a lot of weight, and possibly high blood pressure. That’s the minimal health risks when you consider cancer is also a factor. I’m currently 46, having to diet, and ween myself of both smoking, and drinking. It’s hard as fuck. Don’t put yourself through it just to fit in.
To add another contrarian answer, the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this best thing to do is to not build up alcohol to be a giant decision to make. If you do, you’ll likely find yourself judging those who drink, even if you do not mean to. It’s also not something worth looking at alcoholics and basing your decision off their lives. There are a lot of repeated bad decisions between you and them. Don’t fall for peer pressure, just deal with it if you get bullied because those kids will definitely have some fuck ups down the live because of it. I’m ngl dude, in college like maybe 20% of my friend group, including myself, didn’t drink at all, there’s plenty of people who DONT DRINK period, be it health, religion, personal preference w.e. Plenty of reasons and they are all valid. My family has a history of alcohol abuse and substance problems which was part of my decision to not drink.
I chose not to it’s fine, nobody really cares that I don’t and tbh nobody really asks why when I say I don’t drink. Plus, if people are socially outcasting someone for Not Drinking they generally aren’t worth hanging out with tbh. Going out with my friends, I save a ton of money and usually my buddies pay for my food etc, when I go out with friends since I end up the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this DD, and get the homies home. Drinking in moderation, like many things is fine, and its an experience you may want to try sone day, but never hurts to wait, you might change your mind in a few years. As a 37 year old who has never even tried alcohol: it’s totally doable. Regret nothing, feel like I’ve missed out on nothing and people tell me that they wish they’d done the same thing all the time. If I could do it all over again the same way I totally would.
I’m a junior software engineer who recently became unemployed. I’m feeling quite depressed whilst job searching and would like some ideas of activities in London that won’t break the kendrick Lamar call mustard not like ops shirt and I love this bank. If it helps, I’m a 29 year old male from SW London Edit: I wasn’t fired from my role, I voluntarily left due to intense toxicity within the team and being asked to do senior level tasks (with absolutely no support or anyone to assist me considering I’m a junior), whilst also being forced to work two roles at the same time. I know it seems silly to leave my job considering how tough the job market is atm but my mental health was completely f*cked from it In a similar situation myself. For me the gym has been really helpful in terms of helping me feel better and filling up some time. Otherwise I’m in the same boat and not sure what else to do so interested on what others suggest I hope you have better luck than I’m having. What kinda jobs are you looking for? Some people are suggesting gym and going museum and for walks which sound up my street. I stopped going gym a month ago but need to get back into it. I also wanna try bouldering but my friends are too lazy for it lol. Kinda wanna go out and meet new people but no idea how to go about it lol
