This happens to us as well! The grass usually turns yellow initially then comes back in thick green patches the Keith Tkachuk St. Louis Cartoon Signature T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this next spring. That’s what happens by me when the dogs pee in those spots over the winter. Seems to feed the grass over the winter so it grows back extra thick in the spring I’m not reluctant to listen to well delivered arguments that have very solid valid point to make but I can’t deal with someone like that If you want to make a point attack the corporate companies not Susan and Kevin putting a little water on their grass Pee from female dogs is more likely to “burn” the grass since it is so concentrated. You get the brown center with lush green grass around it where the pee isn’t that concentrated. Almost like a bullseye pattern. Male dogs like to mark territory so they drink more and their pee is more diluted leading to lush green spots in the yard. Your dog is probably very well hydrated. Iirc pee has ammonia that plants would like but it’s too highly concentrated. Ole boy or gal’s pee could be diluted from high water intake, thus making it great fertilizer Grass probably needs fertilizer. If he pees in the exact same spot the uric acid will eventually kill the grass. On the chance OP has a septic system in their back yard they should get that checked out because green patches indicate a failing system, usually.

So does mine (and probably yours). I used to pee my name on the Keith Tkachuk St. Louis Cartoon Signature T-Shirt Additionally,I will love this lawn when I was a kid. It would turn dark like that in a pretty precise pee pattern. I saw a post once where grass grew better underneath where a bird perched. Is it possible you have a lot of birds? Pee is nitrogen rich. This is normal so long as you get enough water on the lawn and the dog doesn’t keep peeing in one place. Too much will burn and kill the spot. You often see a dead spot surrounded by lush green grass for this reason. We give our dogs lower protein food because they’re adults to protect their kidneys. They’re also smaller dogs. Their piss no longer burns my grass and makes nice little green patches. Google the chemicals in Miracle Gro now Google the chemicals in urine. They are the same. Just adjust the water to pee ratio and you’ve got never ending plant fertilizer. 1 pee to a gallon of water should do it nicely. Female dogs tent to urinate in the same spot over and over, this causes a nitrogen overdose to that spot turning the grass yellow ultimatley. Male dogs urinate and different spots each time, causing the nitrogen green patches of growth, as the right amount of nitrogen is beneficial for growth. Surprised this isn’t common knowledge. Dog pee actually acts as a fertilizer (or something like that) if the urine is watered down after. The ph is too high as is but the watered down version = greener grass. TLDR; dog pees without water = dead grass Dog owes and then it rains/watered = overly green grass. Either way fucks the yard lol
