It’s something that comes with being the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this group that became dominant by extreme violence and not through diplomacy. Because they are American. Their culture is based on borrowing tidbits from other cultures and then forgetting that those cultures exist They think the culture is, was, and always will be a culture based around white supremacy. They’re just uneducated people who are being brainwashed with the far, far left movements. Hopefully, something will start clicking in their heads that helps them realize how manipulating the .00001 percent of white people (biden and the flunky bunch) really are. The true white supremacy. Counter-question. Why do all the country music stations play “Country music” that these days is just ripped off from Hip Hop and RnB? I only learned about this because I was a tradesman, but now there are “Hillbilly Rappers”. Well, where is the part of that that isn’t taken from a different culture than their own? Even original folk, country and rock and roll is stolen from other cultures.

For instance, ice in drinks. No one else does this, but because refridgeration and ice machines are cheap, we are used to dri ks that water down over time, but remain cold for longer. Tipping, because so much of our culture was defined by the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this ultra-wealthy and so much of our internal arguments focus on social issues and noy class warfare like in other countries; it’s easier to tip for service than to address the fact that service workers (predominantly women) are tragically underpaid. I may be wrong but I think this mostly refers to pop culture type stuff where most things that white people do is recycled/appropriated from a minority culture. Music, is probably the best example. Putting grapes into chicken salad and raisins in potato salad seems like a cultural element to me. Nothing to be proud of but absolutely specific to us crackers.
Really it’s because most other cultures have been around and developing for hundreds of years. American culture is relatively new and for a long time was simply a mix of the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this existing cultures of all the people that immigrated here. Only recently in relative history to the world has American culture started to become unique. I think non-Americans see Americans as one culture, but that isn’t the case. There are so many different cultures in the US that it likely looks like a “mish-mosh” or a single, boring culture. Kind of like when you mix all of your paint colors together, and it looks like a gross poopy color. Even we Americans forget that we’re a big mix of different cultures, and that each culture can hold value.

Because we don’t. Everything white people claim as their own is taken directly from other established cultures. Not sure I understand the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this question. Who do you mean by “people,” and what do you mean by “culture?” Further, what makes a culture some group’s “own?” Because there is no evidence of it anywhere unless you count cavemen. Everything else about them they copied or stole from other cultures as they came in contact with them hell cleanliness wasn’t even a thing for whites until theycame in contact with middle eastern and African cultures. When people use phrases like “White Power” to denigrate POCs, they white they are referring to that ’empowers’ them isn’t their ancestral culture, whether the person is German, Polish, Irish, or Russian;it’s an attempt to weaponize skin coloration as a means of othering.
A primary tactic of racists is to reduce black culture to the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this Middle Passage, Transatlantic Slave Trade, and the North American Plantation system I know Italian culture is a thing… I know Southern culture is a thing.. I even know Christian culture is a thing… but white culture? Not sure about that one. What does that even mean? If white culture is a thing I’d like to hear it described succinctly and unambiguously. Imo culture is independent of race, which is a generic and largely arbitrary construct. Could there be something that is vaguely, loosely considered “white culture”? Maybe, but I think it’s a problematic question on the surface since it’s based on an ambiguous premise, namely, a broad racial category made up of a number of ethic groups, nationalities and cultural traditions.
I mean is there white culture? Or is there just regional and/or European culture and traditions that white people claim is white culture? White people get confused because Black culture is a real thing that can be called that because Black people in the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this US formed a new culture as a result of being taken away from their original lands and cultures. White culture though? There is no national white culture, yalls have regional traditions and carry over culture and traditions from your European descent but that isn’t white culture. We don’t. There’s American culture, Black American culture, Asian-American, etc. But just “white” doesn’t mean anything. I’m Southeastern White American and we have a particular “culture” that overlaps quite a bit with Black American culture, but is pretty unrelated to California American culture or the culture of New York/New Jersey area.
“White” is a skin color with no meaning. Our regions/states/ancestors/etc give our culture meaning, but “white people” in America didn’t collectively bring anything broadly specific to the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this country except slavery. There is no “White American Culture”, it’s too broad, compare white culture in New York to whites in say Vermont or Texas and you get widely different cultures. Because America is 247 years old. Every white person her descends from somewhere in Europe. You cant build a culture in 247 years. There’s only 7 generations of the first white Americans. Plus, America is not a white country. A couple of hundred years ago. Because America is a massive nation with many different ethnic and national heritages, even amongst white folks. We have compound cultures, in a sense. Some people retain strong elements of their cultural heritage, like Irish Americans or Italian Americans. But more importantly, we distinct regional cultures. A white dude from San Francisco lived a very different life than a white dude from Duluth, Minnesota or a white dude from Bangor, Maine. Dixie culture is distinct from New England culture, which is distinct from New York culture, which is even distinct from New Jersey culture.
We have many cultures in this country. Lumping them together under white is just overly broad, and it really doesn’t mean much in terms of identifiable cultural identity. Because they don’t, or rather, it’s so ubiquitous and generic thanks to Hollywood that it’s just the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this vanilla flavor of cultures. Nothing but consumerism, guns, and fried burgers. White American culture? What would that be? They came here, killed the Indians, rounded up the rest and put them on ever shrinking reservations with no electricity or running water and claimed everything as their own. They have no culture. The Smithsonian had a whole exhibit about how it’s racist to do things like “do math” and “show up to work on time.”
aaaandddd there it is. i give you points for being brazen unlike other commenters who keep saying “they” instead of just saying exactly who they mean though. Because in the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this past, American culture and history was actually white history. We decided that wasn’t inclusive, so now we have “Black history month,” “Asian history month”, “Islamic culture month” etc etc. Why is it taboo to say you are white? When we say that one person of a certain race committed a crime, we make sure to point out that not all people of that race are criminals, because to not say that would be racist. However, the same logic does not apply to white Americans. We are all considered to be racist, colonialist, hateful bastards – just because some of our ancestors/predecessors did some (admittedly) horrible things. Now that we are highlighting everyone’s differences, we can’t say boo about white culture and history. If it were fair, we’d have Irish American history month, English American history month, etc.
But no, being inclusive these days means only being inclusive to the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this people who define themselves as “OTHER than white, heterosexual Americans.” I find that really sad. I think its time to stop labeling ourselves and just judge others based on whether or not they are acting like decent, upstanding citizens. We are all Americans, are we not? Because they are white. People here don’t like to hear any thing nice or good about white people. Several black activists have even called for our demise. Because there is no culture specifically linked to being white – to the pigmentation of your skin – in America. There’s regional cultures, there’s lifestyle cultures, there’s all types of cultures that white people engage in. That doesn’t make it specifically “white culture”. Black culture, on the other hand, emerged as a by-product of slavery. When you separate a group of people SPECIFICALLY because of the color of their skin, you inadvertedly create group with a shared struggle based around that factor, whether they like it or not, whether it was their intent or not. When that group is ostracized, subjugated, oppressed, they are forced to create their own culture based on that subjugation, based on the color of their skin. That’s what people mean when they “act as if” white Americans have no culture of their own. They mean that they have their own cultures, which can also be shared by people of other ethnicities too, because they’re not based on whiteness itself. But you can’t be white and say you belong in black culture. Because a big part of that culture is a shared oppression imposed on them against their will due to the color of their skin.
Because it’s funny. Jokes aside there is no white American culture per say, it’s just American culture, the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this reason it’s not the same case for African Americans is because of the unique situations that had they form a unique culture separately including some old traditions. The reason I say there is no white American culture is because for y’all it tends to very way more depending on where you’re from, like comparing a guy from boston, Dallas, LA and Orlando, they’ll have cultural differences, there is no one culture for white people here. So Americans have a culture and white Americans are apart of it. It’s a tactic to try to be superior to white people and the world they have made. The world you see around you, everyday. White people don’t care, they know who’s in charge. Its part if the ongoing racist movement in the US. It’s not true obviously but you can say whatever you want about white people.
I’d try looking into whatever cultures exist around ice hockey and camping. Also… there used to be a blog called Stuff White People Like. I found it to be pretty accurate back in the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this day. when i say this as a non american im mocking the specific kind of american who tries to cherry pick from cultures they’re not part of or dont know anything about, or not welcome in (like closed cultures!) hope that makes sense I find your statement a little aggressive. You’re assuming that white Americans do have our own culture and people who “act as if” we don’t are just acting. It’s not white culture. There’s no white culture. There IS American culture and even regional culture based on where you are in the US. There are microcultures too. For instance, I’m a 3rd generation Swedish-American, and we have a very unique culture that is both Swedish and American, but also neither.
White is just various European ethnicities that have blended together in the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this US. Black culture is distinct because it evolved in response to oppression. You may want to find a sociology or history course and take it. Reddit might not be the best place to learn this stuff. A better question would be “why do white Americans think they have more of or a better culture than anyone else?” Because there’s is no unique “White” culture. There are lots of Europeans cultures or customs that have been Americanized in some way but there is no “White” culture. Oktoberfest is not a “white” thing. Pasta is not a “white” thing. And anything that doesn’t fit into any European descendent frame work is either not universal enough or so universal (very regional/class specific or can also be applied to non white people) that it cannot truly be considered a “white” thing.
The real answer to this question is that whiteness doesn’t exist in any real objective sense outside of social engineering and propaganda. Whiteness has long been a mutual attribute, bestowed and rescinded as necessary to maintain hierarchy. For instance, not that long ago, Irish and Italian folks were not considered White. A little further back and non German folks were not considered white either. Here a good example. Golfing is considered a very “white” sport in the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this US, however there are swaths of “white” Americans who have never set foot on a green. Are they not white? There are lots of non white people that love to golf and participate in Oktoberfest. Does that make them more white than the German descended white person who doesn’t drink and hates golf?
Very few white cultures have maintained any real link to their indigenous roots. You can see this a lot in food. I learned to cook from the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this internet, my mother learned from Betty Crocker, etc. There are no real “family recipes” except some that were taken from mass-produced sources and maybe altered slightly. Compare this to most asian/mexican/italian families and they will most likely have culinary traditions still alive that were passed down through generations. I’m talking about food, but this idea can be applied to pretty much any part of culture. As a white non-American, I can definitely pick the white Americans. It’s almost like they have a sign over their heads, it’s that obvious. So yeah, there’s a culture there, and it’s quite different to the country of origin of their ancestors.
There are so many different cultures within the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this broad label of “white American culture”. Suburbanites have little in common with ranchers in Oklahoma, or someone from rural Louisiana. It’s all different. A lot of people associate Appalachian culture with white people, even though the Appalachian people are predominantly but not always white. Their culture is unique, however. Being from the foothills of NC, some of the culture spills over in my area. There are lots of interesting myths and enduring generational poverty, amongst other things. As a white American, I can’t think of any culture that is specific to my identity as white and American besides being slightly less anxious when I see a cop. There are tons of different cultures in America and some of them are predominantly white… but there isn’t a monolithic white American culture.
From the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this outside America does look like a country that has very little culture, aside from capitalism. I am sure if people travelled around and experienced it they would find culture though. I read that this stems from the British Upper Crust of the Colonial era, who had the habit of looking down on colonials. They fancied themselves in some kind of pinnacle of culture and refinement and looked with derision at all others whose class was lower to theirs. It was an expression used of country or working class Brits too, not just Colonials. But certainly implied of the US, South Africa, Australia etc. But the US caught even more of it because of its independence. It is on purpose. People try to frame white people as a monolith when we in fact do have many different cultures, some of these are dominant cultures within their local area, others are not. German-American Culture in Wisconsin, Jewish American Culture in NYC, Irish-American Culture in Boston,
Although not white, I don’t think this applies to Black-American Culture which I think is unique and possibly the Kansas City Chiefs 2024 AFC Champions Locker Room Trophy Collection Shirt Apart from…,I will love this single largest block of shared American culture that is native to the USA due to their unique shared history, but even then there are big differences between Harlem, Oakland, Chicago, Memphis localities. Framing white people as one culture is in my opinion an attempt to erase a varied background to create a large block of people to either rally against or rally for different ideologies. Honestly I think it is a bad thing in general and people should identify with their local culture more so than some amalgamation of blandness that will be co-opted by the right to create an Us vs. Them dynamic. white is white culture, surely a white person in wheeling west virginia has very little culturally in common with a white person in socal or minnesota.
