A couple summers ago my friend went on vacation to Colorado with his family. Every Snapchat he sent had that exact filter on. He was there for like a week and sent a LOT of snapchats. I’ve seen this guy’s pictures on here a few times. I’ve been wondering what his face really looks like. That is NOT what I was expecting. Remember that magazine cover with Lady Gaga in the pink dress? Yeah, the stark difference between the original photo and the finished product is normal. The obvious body dysmorphia really bums me out on this sub sometimes. Dude’s got a nice face already and he’s in shape, but he’s gotta photoshop himself into an uncanny monster that would be terrifying to encounter an empty street. Makes me sad for him really. What’s with these people? As body dysmorphia increases, photoshop skill decreases. It’s just so sloppy. I can imagine them trying to fool someone with that garbage in real life. “What? That’s definitely me. I just had a good night’s rest that’s all. Anyway, let’s start the shoot. What do you mean I’m fired and banned?”

And he’s not a bad-looking guy. It’s sad that people feel like they have to manipulate their photos so much. It’s so so creepy seeing these doctored photos, is it not considered some type of mental illness to create images of yourself like that and post the online? It’s disturbing. I hate how all of these people are not bad looking people but they all are influenced by other societal standards to alter themselves into some plastic doll on the internet for the slightest bit of internet clout. There is nothing wrong with the real you.
