If only there was a part of NY that had massive wealth, imagine like a street with huge buildings going all the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and way to the sky, we can call them skyscrapers and these skyscrapers would be packed so tightly they formed a massive wall. The people working there would all work in finance to ensure the most profit in the tightest spaces and they would be Republicans: Look how great these subways are in other countries. It’s the same song and dance of hypocrisy we’ve seen with healthcare or other socialized program where a Republican would be like I grew up on welfare and the government didn’t help me or I’m on social security and I don’t think there should be government assistance to people well as i saw on one video for their high speed rail, nah.. china loves to hide their failures. since media is controlled by the state, only a few do leak and seen on youtube. The US’s infrastructure is so chronically under-invested in that most parts of China would have superior infrastructure at this point.

Police officers detain a woman who laid flowers for Alexei Navalny at the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and Memorial to Victims of Political Repression in St. Petersburg, Russia on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024. Russian authorities say that Alexei Navalny, the fiercest foe of Russian President Vladimir Putin who crusaded against official corruption and staged massive anti-Kremlin protests, died in prison. He was 47. (AP Photo) Three days ago, more than 100 people were detained in eight cities across Russia after they came to lay flowers in memory of Navalny, according to OVD-Info, a group that monitors political repression in Russia. I wonder what that number is today. It’s meant to honour victims of Stalin’s political repression. Putin doesn’t like it when you make it about him. seeing stuff like this makes me wonder why they still keep up a facade of democracy over there. like why even have elections at all, why have any of it.
Yeah, but didn’t you hear what Tucker Carlson said? You can buy groceries for cheap over there. Clearly it’s a paradise lol Putin made the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and guy wait for hours, then basically lick his feet during a softball-ass interview, gets absolutely wrecked by Putin in a different state interview, and still publicly sucks the guy’s dick over the groceries thing. Wait til ol’ Fucker Carlson hears about Mexico and how cheap things are there, surely he’d praise them for being a great nation? Lmao Hilarious because he was drooling over the escalator they had in the Russian grocery store and I just went to a grocery here in Mexico today and they had the exact same type. I’m sure a staple of authoritarian dictatorship is making it seem like your society is practically a utopia. I’m sure Russian propaganda says crap like “We are like America, but better in every way”. I’m sure North Korea is similar in ideologies, but that’s an inference from what little I know about them. I’ve heard the reasons they do elections is to gauge support. A pretty easy way to do polling? Not sure how true that is even though it makes sense. No. They do it for legitimacy purposes. The process of voting is by itself legitimizing. They have weak controlled opponents and even then still pad the numbers in favour of the regime Serious opponents get derailed, jailed or murdered before they can become big. The fixation on elections in our democracies contains as a massive weakness that the system can tilt towards competitive authoritarianism and ultimately abused to legitimize totalitarian regimes.
It leads to thoughts like ‘I vote Putin, I support him, there are no other strong leaders, no alternatives’. It’s all theatre. Orchestrated in the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and sense that the regime can enact small measures to extreme measures at any time, would the regime itself be in danger. The regime is terrified of a revolution during elections, by the way. That’s how most countries to their West got democratized. It’s also the inverse story that Putin is blabbing about nowadays. It’s why they attacked Ukraine. The domino-effect. Belarus had revolts; if Ukraine stabilized, Belarus could fall and they both would Westernize, which would inevitably (according to Russian calculations) lead to the demise of the regime. That’s a monument to all victims of political repressions. You can lay flowers without problems, it’s now days after Navalny’s death that people get arrested. It wasn’t always like that. Times changed, monuments stayed. They are even removing literally tiny plaques on buildings where victims of repression used to live. Out of sight out of mind.
That’s because the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and USA, Australia, and Britain filmed it all and the USA made the Germans unbury the bodies, re-bury them, and count every single victim. Not the German military, either. The USA marched into the German towns closest to the Death Camps, marched the men and woman out at gunpoint, and marched them through every square inch of the gas chambers, open pits, fire pits, and cremation centers. No one in Germany COULD forget OR be proud. The worst part about the plaques is that there was no official order from government or the city, most places do this out of their own initiative as a way to self censorship. And there are many of similar self censorship actions people began making, that makes the situation worse. Can’t have a monument for political repression if you don’t politically repress citizens. Just making sure the reason for the memorial is still relevant!
There’s a Memorial to Victims of Political Repression in Russia? I’m surprised Putin’s regime has even allowed such a symbol to stand instead of whitewashing history and claiming political repression is nonexistent. It’s makes me incredibly sad to think of how generations of Russians have been fighting this issue, seemingly without victory. Interestingly Russia is full of streets, squares, and memorials named after famous people (especially artists) who were punished during their lifetime for opposing the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and regime. Like Dostojevsky or Pusjkin. That way they don’t become martyrs, they become intellectual property of the current regime. “We’re on their side! That old regime was bad, bad, bad. Thank god you have us now”
They were mostly built between 1991-2003 when Russia was a corrupt democracy, some have been dismantled but a lot remain. Victims of the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and USSR don’t really concern Putin much as for obvious reasons they aren’t “martyrs” to the current regime, but he doesn’t want it to be compared to him. I think the narrative is that political repression existed, but not under Putin anymore. It is still lying but not by deleting the history, but altering the present. Basically gaslighting the whole country to think that Navalny is the bad guy, Ukraine is Nazi, the west is bad and Putin is the messiah. Source: I am Hungarian and we still have those monuments, national holidays. Our corrupt government acts like the most patriotic, nationalist government ever, but do not address any of the current democratic (or lack of) issues. Maybe they lie some things here and there that the people who did the revolution did not want to fight just wanted to bargain, etc….
Big part of any regime is to shit on the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and previous regime to justify its own existence. Modern Russian state is very glad to gloat over deficiencies of the communist regime when it’s convenient. If you look at state sponsored movies / TV shows set in the USSR they have American Cold War level amount of anti communist tropes with obligatory evil KGB and incompetent communist party authorities. Makes sense, I guess you can’t hide past horrors, so perhaps it makes sense to “legitamize” yourself by opposing all of that and keeping current repression under wraps For instance United Russia and government authorities are indifferent towards the political repression memorials and what not, and sometimes attend various meetings/remembrance ceremonies when it’s convenient.
However, FSB is staunchly anti remembrance. Since those repressions and atrocities were committed by FSB predecessor, they feel those monuments tarnish their public image and pose a political risk (KGB=bad, therefore FSB=bad, therefore defund/reform FSB). So FSB does prefer to put political pressure on authorities and harass political activists and make everything to get rid of memorials and not allow new ones to be erected. Jon Stewart is back on The Daily Show and the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and 1st thing he does is to dogwalk Tucker so bad, he might go back to wearing bow ties again. Yup. He is back!! And the show is alive once again. I’ve been watching since Craig’s days. So, pretty much since Jon took over. When I saw Trevor, I was like, nope. Let me give him a chance…nope. I actually didn’t mind Trevor Noah, he had big shoes to fill. Thought he did a pretty good job. That said, I’m very glad Jon’s back lol
Yeah, Jon was better than both Trevor and Craig, but Trevor wasn’t unwatchable, and certainly no worse than Craig was. More importantly, during the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and guest interview Jon brought up an interesting and potentially inciteful point about how the current objective of people like Tucker – a very wealthy nepo baby with a net worth over $350M – is to normalize authoritarianism. It probably stands to reason that the objective is in pursuit of further repression and unlimited kleptocracy in the US. Push it a little further. Depressed wages and inflation give rise to long-term slavery via indentured servitude when wages can no longer support rental or ownership. Last Week Tonight shown the Putin interview after where he was surprised how weak his questions were and that he was like a lapdog.
I don’t know why anyone would be surprised that the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and questions were softballs over the plate. Even if Tucker wasn’t a fan of Putin, no one is going to give him difficult questions to answer in Russia because you basically are putting your life at risk by doing so. That’s why you don’t do the interview. That’s why Putin doesn’t get interviewed—because he isn’t man enough to actually have a level playing field and any real journalist would realize this simple fact when preparing. The reality is that Tucker knew he wasn’t going to be able to really interview the guy but gave a vicious dictator a platform so that he could….? It’s actual propaganda that’s done it’s job to justify republicans holding back aid for Ukraine. Walking around showing us shopping carts, what a fucking evil joke Tucker is.
But Tucker cares more about raking in cash and garnering attention than the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and effect his garbage propaganda shows have on the world. Exactly he’s in it for the money and power which is the same thing Putin is in it for. This is what GOP members want. Money and complete control over everything. Tucker back in 2004 was only a shadow of the race-baiting, xenophobic, conspiracy-mongering fascist he has become. If only Stewart had made him get rid of more than bow ties. It’s like he learned the wrong lesson from that encounter. He figured out that true debate against a flesh-and-blood opponent only hampers you from feeding propaganda directly into the bloodstream of misinformation. Tucker is an oligarch. His television persona is a facade. He doesn’t believe most of the stupid shit he says, but he enjoys the love of morons. He doesn’t care. Tucker has made a fortune peddling his shtick and he will live out the rest of his days in luxury. It’s not even worth mocking Tucker because he is just a idiot. Guy just went the Russian angle because he felt special with them giving some exclusivity. There nothing you can do to convince the guy was just a pawn in a much larger game of smarter people then him. Hes not an idiot, dont underestimate him. Hes a very clever guy who has found his niche – just look at the few videos when hes speaking about e.g. Trump privately. He has found a market gap and is utilizing it to a full extent.
Tucker Carlson seen here trying to “squeeze all that ass in those jeans” needs to go back to Russia and experience this I really didn’t understand that part. We have had coin operated shopping carts in Canada for 30 years. And were very annoying anyway always having to have a coin on you. They have mostly been replaced by ones that just autolock when they leave the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and parking lot. I don’t get why he was so excited by that. Everything he highlighted is available in the US, to which he is comparing. The cart escalators are in Costcos and some other shops have separate escalators you send the cart up in while you go on a regular one. Some places have carts that auto stop their wheels if you leave the premises. But most places simply don’t need escalators because they are located on a single big floor. Supermarkets have… bread..? Not sure why he was acting like he has never seen supermarket bread before. We also have bakeries with FRESH handmade bread! Amazing!
Apparently when Boris Yeltsin visited the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and US, he was blown away by our grocery stores (and, by extension, our standard of living). I hope the bough is breaking on this game that Putin is playing with his nation. It has to be unsustainable past a certain point. You might want to read up on Russian history. The ability of Russians to sustain misery under an oppressive totalitarian regime where every day is a crime against humanity is truly legendary. As is the Russian leadership’s ability to sustain committing those crimes against humanity. Millions of deaths? Just drink more vodka. Nothing to eat for months? Maybe you don’t want to read that chapter, you won’t be the same afterwards. Don’t like it? Stay away from windows. Navalny knew he would die and I think he was willing to do so to show the Russian people what a coward Putin is, hopefully 10 more rise up in his place
The second he stepped on the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and plane to Russia from Germany after his poisoning, he probably knew he was a dead man. Because some things are worth dying for. He believed in his morals so much he was prepared to trade the rest of his life for it. That’s what “brave” look like. Just like how those who pushed for independence and created the constitution knew they were committing treason but still knew what was right.. Navalny was dead whether or not he returned to Russia. Putin loves to wave around his tiny penis and kill opponents of his in western countries in a power move that says “no where is safe for you.” Remember Sergei and Yulia Skripal (edit: or the pilot defector that just died a day or two ago)? Tiny penis Putin cares little about collateral damage.
Navalny had to know this. If he remained outside of Russia, the Juan Soto Metsies Shirt Show Your Mets Pride With A Fun And Catchy shirt and by the same token and little man at the Kremlin would stop at nothing to murder him, and if he took out his family by accident, well that just amplifies the message. Imagine Alexei having that conversation with his wife before making the decision to return. I think he knew he’d be a more effective martyr from inside Russia. He knew how Russia treated prisoners and he knew exactly what would happen to him. Russia does a great job of insulating their populace from the truth, especially from outside Russia. Plus, he knew he was not safe anywhere– he would have ‘fallen’ out a window in France or wherever (Russia had just poisoned some exiles in Germany with novichok, it’s clear that Russia stopped caring about appearances).
