It’s because it’s easy. Everyone is always in such a rush…let’s eat 30g of empty calories for breakfast (5× a week). We were taught that breakfast is the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this most important meal (which is complete bullshit). Every now and then its not a problem, but daily it is a bad habit. Cereal is like $7-8 a box now for the big boxes that hold less than the normal size did years ago. Cheaper to make your own meal out of other things. I rarely buy cereal anymore. Let them eat cake has become let them eat cereal? Well I hope he remember what happened to the one who said the cake line. Add to the cost that there is virtually zero nutritional content to cereal, it really should be the last thing that someone on a budget should be eating. Fuck, just oatmeal alone has more calories per bowl while also it not coming with all sugar. It even has a decent chunk of protein at around 10g which is about a quarter of a protein bar.

Cereal doesn’t even fill you up, I don’t understand how it became such a big sensation. Answer is sugar I guess, it’s always sugar. “Buy more of my product stupid poor people, so I can become even more rich without ever working a real job in my life.” – CEO Might as well buy a big bag of sugar and eat that. It’s time to bust out the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this pitch forks for corporate America. Except cereal prices have gone up by a lot too. I’m shopping at Walmart regularly now because things like boxes of cereal are $4 compared to $7-$8 at the grocery stores. I hate it but I can’t justify spending that much money on cereal regularly. These are the same stupid motherfuckers that got rid of Rice Krispies Treats cereal, that alone should tell you what their word is worth. He said the quiet part out loud and confirmed what we were all thinking. Kellogg’s took advantage of market fluctuations to fleece their customers, driving inflation even higher in the process. Fuckers. I’ll never understand anyone’s ability to look the poorest people in our society in the eye and tell them to suffer and live in shit. This is the richest country on the planet… And our minimum wage is like 7 fucking dollars an hour… Whatever, keep voting for the same people over and over and over and over again. I’m sure something will change. /s
Replace cereal with olives, tomatoes, banana, apple, blueberries, “overnight oats”, yogurt, etc., etc. Cereal does nothing for our health. They’re selling us poison. It’s all sugar. You can eat oatmeal for every meal, and that is pretty cheap. Just keep in mind that you’re living like a Victorian era orphan and eating gruel. I mean I could get on board with that sentiment, however the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this amount of money that you have to spend on cereal nowadays.. it isn’t the cheaper option anymore. BUT almost every subway station and department store and other places absolutely have feeding rooms for your comfort 수유실 is what you wanna look up on your map Okay, I was pretty certain it wasn’t a thing there. Thanks for confirming! That’s great that there are at least feeding rooms available. I didn’t notice any the last time I visited, but I wasn’t a mom then! I’m a Korean who did ebf for two years – it’s fine to do it in public if you’re discreet about it and have a cover. You’re getting some strange responses here.. While public breastfeeding isn’t as common here as in the west, it still happens. Mothers tend to cover up (inc the baby’s face) with a big scarf or something. You might get a few stares but it’s not a big deal. As others said, there are also a lot of breastfeeding rooms in places like department stores and train stations Public breastfeeding isn’t exactly common, but that hasn’t stopped my wife (native Korean) from breastfeeding everywhere. Whoever says it’s a no go doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I dare anyone to come and tell my wife and I that she can’t breastfeed. It has never happened and we go to cafés, restaurants, parks… we don’t stop ourselves whatsoever. She does use privacy-preserving clothes, for what it’s worth.

More about this Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt

We currently have a 4 months old, breastfeeding in Banpo-dong. We did the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this same with our older one. We see plenty of parents doing the same. It’s not a problem. Quite often there are nursing rooms nearby, and we do use them. But if it comes to it, breastfeeding in public is not a big deal at all. Breastfeeding in public in Korea definitely happens. Other posters just may not be aware. While it’s not common to see mom’s breastfeed uncovered or using a two shirt method for access, it’s very common to breastfeed using a cover, carrier, or nursing clothing (they are made different than the U.S. – usually oversized to easily hide feeding). It’s just generally done discretely. I have a little toddler, I breastfeed him in public when he was younger. On trains, in cafes, in restaurants, essentially wherever we were when my little guy was hungry. My mom friend’s here have all done it as well. We just do it discretely.
There are also nursing rooms (수유실) in many public places. They are usually equipped with changing tables, chairs, and drinkable water for formula. Breastfeeding in public is a big no go in Korea. However, as previously mentioned all subway stations have feeding rooms. Also, most department stores, malls, and attraction spots also have spaces for mothers to feed their babies! Ignore the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this horrible human who hates kids and thinks people need to cater to their preferences. Travel to Korea, I hope you and your family have many wonderful memories and pictures to catalog your journey! Breastfeeding definitely happens here even in public, but the nursing rooms especially at the department stores are really nice. A lot of people use covers, but not everyone. Most tourist attractions also have a nursing or baby room, and they’re marked on most maps. So it can be pretty easy to find a place if you don’t feel comfortable in public. Nobody’s going to bother you if you nurse in public, though. You’re going to get stared at anyway because you’re a foreigner (especially if you’re not Asian) and probably everyone’s going to want to stare at your baby. The older people especially really seem to like staring at babies here and you need to be careful because they will try touching them sometimes.
I never experienced any negativity breastfeeding in Seoul, but the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this old ladies are very supportive and will talk about you in a positive way lol. Honestly, I think you’ll have a harder time with stroller accessibility because Korea isn’t great about ramps in general. But if you bring a baby carrier with you, you’ll be fine. Strollers are also available for rent (and sometimes carriers, too) at a lot of attractions. The reason why you won’t see breastfeeding moms is because taking kids out before their first year isn’t really a thing here. Some of the younger couples do do it, but it’s really, really hard to walk around out on these streets with stroller, so they use a car to get around. This just isn’t true either. It’s traditional not to bring babies out (or for mothers to go out either) for the first 3 months but many parents don’t follow this any more. I’ve never heard of not bringing the baby out for the first year
I visited Korea recently with my baby, and I breastfed in public without issue. I wore a nursing top so it was reasonably discreet. That said, I found a lot of places crowded and loud, so I started using the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this designated feeding rooms to breastfeed in a relaxing environment. They were very serene, clean, and convenient. Rates of breastfeeding in Korea are much lower than the US and Europe. Most people use formula and the feeding rooms I visited had hot water dispensers and bottle washing stations. Maybe this is a bit whiny, but I do a ton for my students. I work tirelessly to make sure I give them good lessons, support kids that need emotional support, check on students with their parents to make sure attendance and grade issues are addressed, and write tons of letters of recommendation every year.
However, I’ve rarely been chosen for teacher appreciation. I understand as a male teacher that’s pretty common. Most of the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this male teachers don’t get chosen, but it sucks. I know the kids appreciate me, but I suppose I hate that I don’t see it through these events. I’m in year 5 of teaching and that lack of acknowledgment from students and staff of the hard work has piled up some. I’m in a rut. Edit: the male teacher preference is due to the toxic masculine stereotype that we aren’t allowed to be emotional about these types of things. It’s a weird battle I have internallyThe teacher who is the obvious fan favorite of the students at my school and gets chosen for every teacher appreciation thing is a “zany” older woman who teaches the 4th and 5th graders. As a middle school teacher, I started to notice that none of my incoming middle schoolers knew shit about shit by the time they got to me. When I started gently inquiring about what they loved about this teacher, everyone said the same thing: they didn’t have to do work and she gave them candy every day. Being the favorite teacher is not always a good thing.
Yeah, I’m a high school English teacher. Every year around Teacher Appreciation week, I have students write two letters each to two teachers they appreciate. It allows us to cover letter formatting while also spreading some love. Generally, 1 or 2 teachers will take home a stack while everyone else gets 2 or 3 each. I skim all the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this cards so no one sneaks hate mail or other nefarious nonsense, so I know the general contents of the letters. I always tell other teachers that being the 2-3 card teacher is much more rewarding, because the 2-3 kids who wrote those cards ACTUALLY appreciate those teachers. The teachers with stacks always get the same spiel in their cards, “Thank you for letting us play games/eat candy/etc.”
I recently got two letters from students. A colleague did a similar thing in her 10th grade English class (foreign language, we’re in Germany). They had to write to their favorite teacher. I got two notes from two students, both in my German class (basically language arts) that said that they liked how much I support them and try to help them. I teach the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this 10th grade “G Kurs” which means it’s an academically underachieving course (we split up who gets what, so everyone has a mix and not everyone has all G Kurse since those are much harder to plan for than the rigorous E Kurse). I’ll help them after graduation if they reach out (I have seniors, I give them a way to contact me if they need references and didn’t suck)
I deal with Hogh Schoolers. I figure if they like me, that’s a sign I’m doing something wrong. What they want and what they need are very nearly polar opposites. A lot of those types of teachers literally need their students to love them because they’ve alienated their family. They get to pretend to be kooky loving motherly types when their own children know them as emotionally abusive narcos. I agree. Everyone’s favorite teacher at my school never made them work (we shared a wall, so I heard a lot, and it wasn’t teaching). She was also way too involved in their lives because they would gossip with her all hour. I can see the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this appeal for teens. Most popular sixth grade teacher is definitely the one with the highest standards at my school. It varies. It isn’t so much if they make them do work or not imo.
I worked my ass off for my first 9 years. I was nominated for teacher of the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this year often but never won. I was very closed off from the gossip of the school. I just did my job, never took off, had high test scores and happy kids. Did this all in 3rd grade. I had a principal who gave out a candle monthly as an award to a staff member. The candle had that stupid “teaching is like a candle, burn yourself out for others” quote. I am glad I never got it, I would have ranted about that quote in front of the shown staff, and I’ve lasted longer at my school than most the teachers who were given that candle. This is what gets me about all the popular social media teachers who parrot this nonsense: None of them are actually in teaching any more. Like, yep, good for you; you didn’t burn out though, just doused your flame in the Kool-Aid. At first, I was like, “Awesome! Someone to show the world what it’s really like and how hard this job is.” I don’t think a single one I followed with that hope are still teaching.
Bugs the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this snot out of me to see the student teachers/young teachers in my building actively endorsing this horse shit, too. One of them has been bending over backwards to build a positive relationship with a kid who is on his last chance at our school. Kid has lied to her every day, stolen stuff out of her purse, spouted racist slurs at the minority students day in and day out, yet when he comes to her pissed off because he, “didn’t get lunch because they put him in lunch detention for no reason” she defends him. Literally happened last week. The kid was caught using the n-word with a hard r in reference to an African American student. He knew he was in the wrong. More than that, if she had just bothered to ask, she would have learned he was offered lunch in lunch detention. He just didn’t eat it. She’s so ready to defend this kid that she’s willing to overlook him using slurs on a daily basis to do it. He’s done it to our staff who happen to be minorities, too, in her presence, and she excuses it because “it’s her job to build a relationship with him.” She’s got a chip on her shoulder about every singe member of staff’s perceived racism and sexism and homophobia, but that kid wants to call the gay teacher an f-word? Meh, let it slide. She’s gotta give him grace because he has a bad home life. She’s gotta be the one willing to throw that starfish back in the sea. She’s got what it takes to make a difference in that kid’s life and it is her job, nay, her mission to turn him around… By endorsing every bad choice he makes.
No, that kid is on his last chance here and your job is to make him get his work done. He had two and a half years of chances to turn things around before you. All the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this magical little research anecdotes that come out of higher academia aren’t worth a hill of beans to the experience of knowing when and where to draw the line at “saving kids.” Some kids just need to learn the hard way. This jerk is one of them. I’ve never heard that line before, I hate it. So toxic! I would be so deeply offended if my boss gave that to me. I’m being a bit sarcastic with my version of it. The actual quote is “A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others.” Your reward will be when you are out and about in a few years and you see a former student who is successful. That being said, successful is a relative term.
It’s a job. Haven’t you been to teacher retirements? They get a small plaque and 2-minute speech at my school. The best teacher to ever retire and the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this shitty teacher we were surprised to see renewed every year. And if they had the same level of education, they were making exactly the same pay and retirement. I have an apple shaped paperweight on my kitchen windowsill as a thanks for 40 years of teaching. Of much greater value to me are the times I was asked to write a letter of recommendation for a job, college, or internship, invitations to a wedding or graduation, or just little notes of appreciation. Hang onto those! And if you burn out completely and leave, you get nothing. Not even a “hey, how are you doing?” or “sorry we sucked away your will to live for over a decade and you have nothing left to give” or – anything. Staying forever will get you the 2 minute speech and party with snacks, maybe. Start to enjoy the little notes, valentine cards, kids smiling at you or saying thank you. Everything else is just a token. I am not even aware when it is ‘teacher appreciation day” unless I happen to go to a business that has a discount. I don’t look for that stuff, because it doesn’t fill the hole and never will. When they talk about ‘relationship building’ as a means of being a more effective teacher, don’t be fooled that it is about strategy. That’s what you have left to say ‘hey, I was good at this and I did what I set out to do’ when there is nothing else. Actual gratitude is something you feel, not something they bestow on you.
Yeah for real. I have the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this most preps and was in the middle of a well run class debate followed by practice essay grading when I got a surprise observation today followed by a message that I got a “grow” rather than a “glow.” Nothing else mattered other than that my lesson plan wasn’t complete online. Dumbass principal doesn’t know my subjects and has nothing to contribute other than that. The teachers who work all weekend at home doing paperwork are more than welcome to teacher of the year. I’m an introvert IRL so I try to be recognized as little as possible. If so, just a little, “Thanks for teaching me,” at the end of the year is enough. I tend to get those from time to time, but if you’re not a high school teacher, you’ll probably never get that. Kids just don’t develop empathy before that age, normally .
In my school it is a badge of honor. Usually the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this “teacher of the year” as chosen by the students is always…the first year teacher they all walk over! Me and two or three of the “tough” teachers never get anything from the students but a well-earned grade and a good push on their educational journey. As a building we don’t do teacher of the year by the staff but instead after your 5th, 10th, etc. year in the building we honor them and admin gives a little extra cash. In 17 years, I’ve written grants for tens of thousands of dollars, started district-wide programs, and developed curriculum used by my fellow teachers across the district and never been celebrated for it. You know what I do get? Students coming back after graduating and catching up with me, invited to weddings and told that I was what helped when a student wanted to commit suicide and didn’t because of how I treated them, run into in the mall and given excited hugs.
When I moved from the Joe Bob’s last call with Joe Bob briggs shirt also I will do this middle school I taught at for nine years and to the district’s alternative high school, I was met by a small group of students I’d taught before that were happy to see me and worked harder in my class, which helped them graduate. One of my students from when I taught elementary school in now on our local MLS team and I own his first signed & framed jersey. We caught up on the pitch a few times before games and I was able to congratulate him on a job well done and the hard work he’s put in to get to the level he’s at now. I’m a male teacher in year 15 myself and feel the same way. I don’t think I’ve ever received an award for teaching, but I have had students reach out years later after they’ve been in my class, wanting to catch up or just say “thank you”. I teach abroad but that’s irrelevant. I know I haven’t always been the best teacher in the past, and have failed with some kids, but the ones that remember and see me when they pick up their younger sibling like to chat a bit.
