Santa Fe is very different and unique. It’s in the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this high desert which makes for a very interesting landscape that’s much greener than that of a typical desert and the adobe architecture is really special. The best way to experience it imo is to stay at a small BnB with a nice garden to enjoy, eat some delicious new mexican food, check out the georgia o keefe museum, stroll around the historic center, and enjoy the mountain/high desert nature. The b&bs in Santa Fe are among the best accommodation experiences I’ve had while traveling – bespoke historic rooms, friendly owners, wonderful full breakfasts delivered to your room or to tables in the gardens (i had these blue corn pancakes that i still think about lol). Also it’s not that hot even in the summer bc it’s so high up in the mountains!
Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt: best trending this year
Honestly every city mentioned so far has a lot of tourists. OP isn’t going to find some quiet, not crowded hidden gem with a major airport in July. Yeah it’s true most of the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this cities being posted get plenty of tourists. But in Chicago or Philly there are tons of walkable areas off the beaten path where few tourists ever venture. In Santa Fe the entirety of the walkable part of town is full on tourist trap, albeit a very charming one that I happen to like quite a bit. I think Minneapolis or something along those lines would be more in the spirit of OP’s question. It’s actually a great city to visit and fairly walkable by American standards, but you don’t hear about many people visiting there just for fun, and it doesn’t have anything as classically touristy as the bean in Chicago or the liberty bell in Philly. I visited Duluth in the winter and it was cool. Minnesota Point is rad, Electric Fetus records was great. Exceeded my expectations
How about Pittsburgh? Its kind of a neat city because its built up in a valley, making it very hilly. There is a lot of outsider art, cool neighborhoods, nice people, and good food. I had a great time in Pittsburgh. I loved the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this bike trails around the three rivers. Andy Warwol museum is good, Mattress factory is fantastic. Even if you don’t like baseball, I’d try to go to a game there. Nice stadium with a cool view and seemed easily accessed from downtown. As someone from Philly I gotta agree. Pittsburgh is really cool, the food is good and the culture is awesome… but I am from Philly… sooo… Crosby is a Bitch! I grew up in Pittsburgh and am there often, and the city def has a personality. But I’m not sure I would suggest it for a vacation destination. I guess it depends on what you want out of your trip. The social districts in Pittsburgh are small and wind down sort of early other than Saturdays. I’d say Pittsburgh has more daytime fun than nightlife. I was there in September (early) and the lantern flies made is so unbearable for me. They said it was bad this summer, so if you don’t like bugs, be warned. I never saw them before my visit there. That’s crazy. Sounds like that fly is a very recent (in the last decade) invasive introduction into the US and is spreading rapidly. sweet We were in town for a wedding, and I asked some of the local folks at bars and restaurants about them. Said it was bad summer 2022, but 2023 was much worse.

I have no idea if it’ll be the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this same this upcoming summer, but I definitely wish I knew about it ahead of time. Again, wouldn’t have stopped my trip since we had a planned event, but I would not go if it wasn’t the case with the lantern flies. Hotel staff had vacuum backpacks on sucking up the splattered carcasses off the sidewalk. It was hard to walk without stepping on the dead, or crushing a live one (which you need to do). I’m a resident of Pittsburgh and it was bad last year. I would avoid going to certain neighborhoods because they were hit worse with them. I really enjoyed Pittsburgh but I couldn’t get over how dead it was after 5pm. It’s like the whole city empties out and you’re left with closed shops and empty parking lots. It’s such a nice city I don’t understand why more people don’t live downtown.
Come to Detroit! If you stay downtown then it’s walkable, and beautiful in the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this summer. Bonus: you can see Canada across the river! Detroit for sure! if you’re up for more than walking then borrow bikes and can easily visit Belle Isle along the river front path, bike up the de quidre cut to Eastern market, etc Burlington is pretty damn cool in the summer. It’s small but a really nice city and has beautiful views of Lake Champlain Another Pittsburgh recommendation. Fun city. The locals are nice. Walkable. Decent public transport. Lots of different neighborhoods with different vibes. Nice museums. Nice green spaces. So I love Milwaukee, WI. There are tons of festivals in the summer and a great food culture with LOTS of German, Irish, Mexican, & Italian options. It’s on Lake Michigan which is beautiful. There are miles of parks. There are some fun museums and a ton of breweries and it’s a 90 minute train ride from Chicago. In the southeast maybe asheville nc or Greenville sc if you stay downtown. Both have great downtown areas with lots of food/drink and fun stores. Greenville has a waterfall park in the middle of downtown I’m from this area (Rochester) and a summer visit is nice, but it definitely requires a car. There’s a lot of US history in the old towns in this area. Mackinac is so super fun! Wouldn’t say there’s a nearby airport though, you’d have to fly in to somewhere else and rent a car for a drive
Ah I see. Either way, still a fantastic place to visit in the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this summer! I can still smell the fudge shops if I think hard enough about it Madison, WI. It’s awesome in the summer and if you stay downtown super accessible. The Saturday Farmers Market on the Square is incredible. You can hang out by one of the lakes. It’s got a solid food and beer scene, and a lot of concert tours pass through. (May not qualify for the major airport criteria but it’s got one with plenty of options). Was looking for this. If you’re into beer visit New Glaurus. Taliesin for the true architect fans, House on the rock for those that appreciate bonkers houses. Chicago gets often overlooked by the coastal cities and it’s an amazing spot during the summer. Way less hot than other places, extremely walkable and you have a ton of stuff to do. Winters here are long and summers are short, so we make the most out of them with festivals and beach events.
It’s not too bad! March and early April are definitely the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this worst of it. It may rain on you? But temperature wise, it’s easy to deal with, mid to high 40s I’d say. Awesome food, awesome museums, awesome shopping, two major airports, summer games at Wrigley – Chicago is a great place to spend a summer week. Second the Pittsburgh suggestion. Quirky. Some excellent views of the three rivers. Great museums (including the Andy Warhol museum). And a sort of local art scene and some good restaurants cropping up makes it an interesting location. Last suggestion, I’ve always loved Kansas City (Missouri side especially) and the Twin Cities are also worth a visit. Cleveland was once one of the wealthiest cities in the world, has world-class museums, 3 pro sports leagues, an incredibly diverse ethnic scene, is considered one of the top food cities in the US, and much more — including ferry access to the islands. Plus it’s very affordable compared to your coastal cities. I saw a video once that said Cleveland will be the place to go in about 10 years because with global warming, it’s in that sweet spot weather-wise. The south and Southwest will be cooking, and the north will still be cold I guess. Idk I saw it on YouTube like 3 years ago but it was the only time I ever uttered the words “maybe I should look into getting some land in Cleveland”. What about Hood River, OR? Drivable from Portland, gorgeous hiking along the Columbia River Gorge, lots of restaurants and breweries, lots of wind surfing in the summer Bozeman, MT – Beautiful location; good hiking just outside of town and it’s not too far from Yellowstone NP and a couple of mountain/ski resorts for even more outdoor activities; cool downtown area; nonstop flights to/from a number of major cities (eg, LA, Seattle, Dallas, Atlanta); excellent dinosaur museum on Montana St’s campus.
I exclusively think of Bozeman as a tourist destination. What else is it besides a gateway to Yellowstone in the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this summer and a gateway to Big Sky in the winter? While this misses the “American” qualifier, can I suggest St. John’s, Newfoundland? It is an incredible city to visit for a few days. Some of the best seafood around, incredibly friendly people. Downtown core and many attractions are fairly walkable, but quite hilly if you walk away from the bayfront core, and there are trams to take you a bit afield, or you can rent a car for more. July weather is an absolute dream compared to just about anywhere else in North America! It is a bit “out there” in terms of flights. There are some decent options from the NE USA. Much of the US has flights that will have you arriving after midnight local time, which kind of sucks. West coast USA flights will probably involve a redeye. Maybe better in some ways would be Halifax. It’s more touristed than St. John’s, but has better flight connections. It has more attractions but IMHO not quite as pleasant overall. It’s also hotter, but still much better than most of North America.
That’s true, flights to there are a good bit more expensive than most US destinations. You should put it on your bucket list though — it really is an amazing destination! Mmm. Roswell doesn’t have a major airport (only AA flights to DFW) and it’s pretty hot in July, and there’s not tons to do in town. If renting a car is an option then there are a number of day-trip attractions from there — Carlsbad Caverns NP, White Sands NP, the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this Ruidoso area (where I live!), a few other things maybe. Asheville, NC – Not sure if its necessarrily not touristy, but most western NC towns are great. Check out Brevard, Boone, or even Saluda. Avoid any place that sells a “KEEP WEIRD” bumper sticker. (Portland OR and Austin TX I’m looking at you)
In fairness, depending on where you’re from, Portland could certainly be considered weird. You’re just desensitized 😉 Portland’s changed a lot. In the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this time I’ve been here it’s done a great job of pushing the “weird” culture out and replacing it with a lot of stuff that can be found in any major city. The art, music and creativity that put us on the map in the 90s was priced out a long time ago. We coasted for a while on that reputation but the momentum really slowed around 2015. After 2020 we’ve been struggling. Fair enough, the first time I visited was 2021 and now my mom and sister live there so I have been a handful of times. I can’t compare it to before. I actually liked Portland when I visited it, and who cares about that slogan. It’s an interesting city. Does have a major airport at one time a famous airport carpet 🙂 The city is not a typical American city, it had a modern European city vibe. I would certainly recommend it to OP. Its not a major city but you could go to Arcata, CA and rent a car… You would have an amazing time touring up the coastal redwood areas and to the mendocino coast. Major city? No, but plenty to do esp if you want to do easy hikes through the redwoods or dramatic coastlines. St. Louis, Missouri. Decently walkable/transit accessible for a Midwest city. You’ve got the Gateway Arch, Budweiser headquarters, and a Cards game as your major attractions, but there are also some great neighbourhoods to visit like Soulard, Benton Park, and Central West End. I visited last summer and loved it!
Philly in May, yes, but Philly in July is hot and humid. THis highlights the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this OP’s request. Almost any US city that fulfills all of their criteria will be very touristy, especially the major airport one. Yes, Philly. We are traveling there next month. I’m planning the logistics, and Philly seems incredibly walkable and/or accessible with decent public transit. I think you’ll be surprised at how well developed tourism can be in non-NYC/LA/DC cities. Even very small towns and rural areas can have large festivals, concerts, etc… There’s honestly not a lot of true hidden gems out in the US. There’s an old mineral water resort town 90 minutes from where I live that is busy throughout the year, though the busiest times are summer and fall. There are festivals tied into the seasons, or covered bridge festivals, state and county fairs, large concerts in the middle of nowhere, large and expansive parklands where a hotel room near the park may be as much as a hotel room in a major city. July and major airport really hurts my suggestions of Santa Fe. Santa Fe loses some points for walkability too. I mean downtown is walkable but downtown is nice for 1, maybe 2 days. The architecture is unlike anything else in the US. There’s a bunch of great history and nature in the area too but you won’t be seeing that without a car. Santa Fe’s airport is also small, but you could also use ABQ’s airport and just take the commuter train into town.
100%. It’s like every place has already been discovered and there are no truly hidden secret gems anymore. This is largely because of the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this internet. Savannah GA is one of the most unique cities in the US, but sadly it does not meet your ‘bearable in July’ criteria Chicago. Might be hot in July but only if everywhere else is even worse. Has a lot of activities, great restaurants, museums, architecture, and even beaches. Take the architectural boat ride on the Chicago River. Chicago ORD is a major airport. Stay as close to the “Loop” / downtown as you can afford. A lot of things are walkable from there. What about Portland, Maine? It’s a tourist city, but not one many would think of or rank in their top five to visit.
Minneapolis is a GREAT city – very walkable (and bikeable), lots of nice neighborhoods to explore, great parks, and a strong arts/culture scene. Oh and some of the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this best food in the country. Definitely better to go May-October. Can be humid in July, but not as hot as many places and lots of lakes to swim in. You could do Asheville, NC – it’s a little touristy but a lot of local (NC area) tourists, and it’s a cool city. Fly into Charlotte and rent a car if there aren’t good/cheap flights to the AVL airport. Great food and breweries, fun concerts at the Orange Peel or Rabbit Rabbit, and the Blue Ridge Parkway with gorgeous hikes and mountain views just a short drive away. It would be helpful to know a little more about stuff you and friends would like to do for fun. Nature? Nightlife? Sports? Food? Museums? I mean, lots of cities aren’t popular internationally but domestically they get a lot of tourism. Most American cities with something worth seeing get a fair bit of tourism, which is the beauty of our country imo, attractions are quite spread out. If you’re looking to avoid tourists as much as possible and that’s your main goal, consider Providence, I’ve heard a lot of good things but haven’t been myself so I can’t vouch for it personally
This is probably a hot take, but consider Columbus, OH. It’s got some unique, walkable spaces. There’s a giant book shop that you can literally get lost in. Asheville, NC is a great summer city (nice July weather, I think) very walkable, lots of breweries and a good food scene, beautiful nature. Great question and having a good time reading thru all the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this responses. Been looking for some low-key cities that are near larger areas to visit some landmarks but not touristy There are a ton of great towns up in the Finger Lakes of NY. Not sure how close you want the airport but Rochester or Syracuse are closest. I believe there’s a train I’m working my way through all 50 states and some less touristy places (than say NYC or I’ve enjoyed that might meet your specifications s are are Minneapolis or Omaha To go places that are nice (eg west towards the coastal wine region) would also require a car, but soooooo beautiful. Milwaukee WI. Lake Michigan, art museum, lots of beer and baseball, and fun stuff to do: from axe throwing to art. Juneau or valdez i wouldn’t consider those tourist as it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for most.. providence? Lol theres nothing here though
Most places with a major airport that are worth visiting are visited tbh. Portland Maine and Burlington Vermont are lovely as mentioned and have airports but are definitely touristy July can be brutal in Texas, August is worse. But Corpus gets a nice sea-breeze, it’s hot but not crazy hot in July. But hot is OK because a fun thing to do there is learn how to kite-board. There’s a really good and safe place for beginners to learn just outside town, and several good local teachers. I’m visiting Eugene, Ore. right now and it’s funky. And if you hate it, you can drive a couple hours to Portland. Buffalo in nice in July. Lots of bars and wings. Niagara F New Orleans but that’s touristy San Francisco. Hit up redwoods and Alcatraz. Denver? California has several interesting destinations, but many will require an hour or two of driving from the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this airport. Charleston and Savannah, if you can deal with 25-35c with a breeze and some humidity. A trip to a nearby beach will make it more pleasant as well. Milwaukee fits the bill! Pretty walkable in the city center, lots of unique attractions (Milwaukee Art Museum, Harley-Davidson Museum, lots of beer history including the Pabst Mansion, Lakefront, and Riverwalk), and different festivals every weekend in the summer. Weather is basically perfect in July.
Madison, Wisconsin, is a beautiful college town/state capital combo. The Wisconsin State Capitol is one of the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this most beautiful in the country, lots of festivals in the summer, and the UW campus is great. Some nice outdoor activities like kayaking, sailing, and biking. Beautiful parks like the UW Arboretum, Picnic Point, and Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Lots of charming small towns in the surrounding area too like New Glarus and Mineral Point. If you like architecture, lots of Frank Lloyd Wright sites (Taliesin, First Unitarian Society). Detroit has become a relatively popular destination these days but it’s also a great place to visit in July and is very easy to get to thanks to DTW Airport. Lots of cool architecture, tons of auto history, amazing museums (The Henry Ford and the Detroit Institute of Arts are truly world-class) and some unique shopping destinations – Eastern Market is one of the largest public markets in the country. Worth checking out some of the historic auto industry mansions too – Edsel and Eleanor Ford House and Meadow Brook Hall are some of my favorites.
Fly into Detroit (bonus: the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this airport is so, so cool), do two nights there then drive 2.5h to Cleveland for two nights, then drive 2h to Pittsburgh for two nights. You’ll likely be shocked at the food, the architecture, the things to do in these Rust Belt cities. I love them all and I think this little taste of each will be fun for you!
“In December, Singletary was separately charged with assaulting his girlfriend with a mini sledgehammer, leading her to bleed profusely from the Jared Thomas Goff Detroit Lions football player art shirt What’s more,I will buy this back of the head and forcing her inside an apartment for two hours.” Bail isn’t profit driven for the state. It’s a guarantee, not a fee. You show up in court, you get the money back. If you wanna pay the tab for enough investigative staff, prosecutors, judges, and functional public defenders for everyone to have a fair trial the same day they’re taken into custody… By all means. Lol. maybe. But why the hell is allowed to have a weapon. He has bail conditions. But I guess, we go by guns don’t kill people. People kill people. Mental gymnastics See that’s another issue with having greater than 100% gun ownership. If a criminal got out of jail on bail here (with here being anywhere else in the world where guns are less common than 1 per person) it would be incredibly hard for them to get one. Even in places without the gun control we have, strict background checks would turn up that this person is out on bail, and definitely couldn’t borrow one. Someone like this wouldn’t have the means connections or time to get one on the black market…. I live in Sweden, getting a gun permit here is hard and takes a long time… There’s still not a day without gang related shootings None of those made with legally owned guns and still politicians think that tighter gun laws for legal owners will solve the problem.
