I don’t want to live a life where my satisfaction comes from buying and consuming things. I want to experience and create. So, I wouldn’t say I’m addicted. Each morning I wake up an hour before I start work and workout. Each day I start with stretching for 20-30 minutes, then depending on the It’s a short ride go slow shirt but in fact I love this day, I’m either on the treadmill for about 30 minutes, or I’m doing some other kind of workout on my core, cardio, etc. There have been days where I just didn’t get enough sleep and just feel too tired to workout, and I’m ok with that. I know I’ll get back to it the next day (and I do). What I honestly think has helped me is getting testosterone injections. I’m in my mid 40’s and lacked a lot of energy earlier this year. I WFH, and I’d just roll out of bed a few minutes before I started work, would work, then go to the couch and do nothing other than watch tv. I didn’t have the energy to play with my kids or do much else of anything. All the sports I loved to play I didn’t want to play anymore. I knew something was wrong and so did my wife. She found me an awesome male hormone doctor and we found that my testosterone was extremely low. Once I started the injections I started to have more energy, more drive and it was great. I could get up and do these workouts without issue. Before, when I’d try that, I’d get annoyed and give up, especially if I got a stupid injury. Now nothing can stop me.

I know I’ll have a bad moment or day, and that’s ok as I know I’ll be better the next. And even if that next day isn’t great, I’m ok with it as well. I have a supportive doctor and a very supportive wife who does tons of research to help me feel better. When I was a teenager I hated running. But two friends of mine in far worse shape than me started doing it and pushing me to accompany them. I hated it for the first two weeks. But then I managed to pass the 20 minutes mark. And I didn’t feel the pain and hurt anymore, on the contrary I even felt some energy making me run faster. And after 40 minutes I got the biggest high of my life. And I felt extremely good the next day too.
