Making basic meals is like car maintenance. Just follow a few instructions the Is This Jolly Enough Christmas Shirt But I will love this first couple of times and it’s very easy. Wow, how did you do that? Is it zip ties? I never would have thought to even attempt to repair a garden chair but now I will! It’s surprisingly strong, you see it all the time on tractor mudguards! And track/drift cars. It’s even called “drift stitching” in petrolhead circles. For cars where aesthetics is secondary and superficial damage is common, zip/cable ties are part of the essential tool kit along with duct tape and WD40. My dad works in IT, and he taught me good computer literacy, very helpful when my laptop etc have a problem and I can sort it myself. My maternal grandmother just taught me to be a good person – how to respect others, how to behave properly around women, and the value of tolerance. Honestly I can’t think of any skill that they taught me, however I’ve always been into engineering and DIY so I’ll hopefully pass on skill to my kids. On a side note nice stitches, I’m putting the drill and zip tie stitch in my memory bank for when I need to fix something similar, cheers. If you use a punch tool you can use this method on softer surfaces too! I’ve used it to fix a pair of shoes with floppy sole syndrome and a buddy of mine’s backpack strap
