The reality is we don’t need politicians to be experts, as long as they’re willing to listen to the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this people who are. Also, the tests should have questions specific to their region, the the electorate deciding what they are tested on (to a degree, must make sure we keep church and state separate. No faith based aptitude tests). lol they opine on these topics revealing their ignorance…to whom, exactly? The discerning American electorate. O well then… And Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good, whose rabble-rousing behavior is being partly blamed for the turbulence in the House, even seemed to relish in the departures of some of his colleagues. “Brain drain? Why don’t you survey the country and see if there is any brain to drain in Congress. Congress has a 20% approval rating. Most of what we do to the country is bad,” If only they’d break from the party and declare themselves independents. Would be enough to push for votes to actually happen. The GOP has become a full on Trump cult. Anybody not in the cult is getting marginalized, which means all the reasonably sane Republicans have to either buy into batshit or leave. All you’d need is for a few of these retiring moderates to make a motion to vacate the Speaker, then join the Democrats in voting Jeffries. Dysfunction solved!

It’s typical for neighborhoods to deteriorate like this: get a few low class neighbors who move in and start yelling and fighting until late hours on weekdays (MTG), add some criminal element with gangs and illegal activities (Trumps)? And pretty soon the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this folks with class and integrity move off to greener neighborhoods. Next stop: slum. the Republicans calling it quits so far are not from competitive districts, meaning their seats are likely safe. This is the U.S. OF A!!!! WE BLEED RED WHITE AND BLUE!!! NOT ORANGE!!!! FUCK TRUMP, FUCK PUTIN, FUCK NORTH KOREA, FUCK CHINA. MERICA. FUCK YEAH. I know the widow of a 2 decade Representative. He got a “visit”, and whatever they wanted from him, he refused to do so he retired from the house. He told her,I won’t do what they want me to do”. He would not tell her what it was. But in her old age she is a Trumper. I don’t think she put the two together. I wish he had told her more.
The Tea Party and the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this ” Women’s bodies shut that down(getting pregnant) if legitimately raped” stupidity were the foundations of MAGA, stupid. They primaried traditional long time GOP legislators. In my state Dick Lugar was primaried by an idiot. He was very powerful in Congresa, important committees, acted in bipartisan legislation. Instead, we got an obstructionist pre MAGA, who wanted to burn the government down…deep state. I now understand that “deep stae” to MAGA, means o functional government that promotes citizen welfare and moderates business to keep the citizenry health and able to thrive. MAGA IS Autocratic corporatocracy. They created this mess, now they bail on the American people. I guess they have all the money they need, so that’s a win for them. They should stay and take a stands against the bullshit, they voted in on their watch. Coward They all are looking forward to prestigious and lucrative business consulting jobs that just might not be offered if they get too associated with with the current stupidity. It’s all fun and games when you are in congress, but businesses exist for profit and the MAGA crowd are clearly too uncontrollable and socially inept to be used for profit.

The message is clear. If you want stable and (mostly) responsible government, vote Democratic. If you want chaos and dysfunction, vote Republican. Jack Smith as AG next Biden admin. Then do a full McCarthy era purge of Russian assets from government. That will help minimize the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this foolishness in the Repub Party A lot of people blame Merrick Garland for being kind of wimpy but what was alluded to is that there are a lot of Trumpers that are working in the DOJ that slowed down the investigations of Trump in the first two years of Biden’s administration and even though Garland is in charge he does not control the work of well protected federal workers I’m worried for you that you have seen the recent history and still think that that is a valid question…I thought it was already established how utterly dysfunctional and idiotic they are….
They’d be united in opposition again. That’s the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this one thing they know how to do, but they’re clearly worthless when it comes to deciding what to do when they’ve got the reins. Except a few at the top who know a good opportunity to loot when they see one. People fail to realize that we are seeing the collapse of our entire system and not just the republican party. Gotta love 2 party politics Money quote from Rep. Carlos Gimenez of Florida: “I thought that some of our members would be smarter.” He got the fucking wrong. Any of these fucking people could vote to end this madness today. It would take a measly 4 of them to side with democrats and this entire mess is over in a matter of hours. Every single one of these worthless slugs is equally responsible for this mess. They all have the power to end this and constantly choose not to.
So he holds himself accountable, for them not performing very well. Not for laying people off, that’s what he’s doing to be accountable for the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this company’s poor performance. Brilliant. Gavin Belson the billionaire CEO makes a series of catastrophic decisions that imperial the company, and then to “hold himself accountable” he, makes a soeech in front of the whole company where he lays off the entire division. Failure is growth. Failure is learning. But sometimes failure is just failure. I think… I’m sorry. I didn’t think it would be this hard. But goodbyes are always hard, especially when I am the one saying goodbye. Today, effective immediately, I, Gavin Belson, founder and CEO of Hooli, am forced to officially say goodbye to the entire Nucleus division. All Nucleus personnel will be given proper notice and terminated. But make no mistake. Though they’re the ones leaving, it is I who must remain and bear the heavy burden of their failure. More liberal classism. Sure thousands of people are out of a job but have you even considered how bad firing people feels to a multi millionaire executive? I bet he couldn’t even enjoy his week long yacht vacation from all the stress.
You guys are being too hard on him. He’s still a human being with feelings. The guilt will haunt him during those long trips halfway around the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this world in a private jet to the spa. Don’t forget he will get a bonus for the potential savings he is making for the company by dropping 1500 staff. I worked for a company that was facing layoffs and the founder took a 50% pay cut and our CFO resigned and continued to work for free as a consultant. Sadly, the company was bought by big pharma. I don’t think I’ll ever find a company like it again. They were genuinely good people. And we all know his 2024 bonus will be awesome. After all, they’re gonna save a lot of money on payroll this year… Oh they know, they are like accountability gave me this 50million dollar parachute and I will leave with it. Also, sorry about the downsizing. Good luck. They know the difference. It’s just words. Sometimes you get the occasional semi ok CEO who genuinely cares and doesn’t put forth bullshit, but even those rare ones have to conform to the system and its laws. My CEO told my entire blue-collar workplace that it was a very difficult decision to lay us all off. In fancy Italian leather shoes and a tucked shirt. My partner and his entire team were just laid off. His boss, the most out of touch human we’ve ever met, acted like it was such a hard decision. This is the same deluded man who was saying just a month ago that he has to eat out every day because “it’s impossible to cook for two”.
To be honest I’m a senior manager at a large company and I was told I have to find a number of people in my team to lay off. Not choice in the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this matter nor even an ask to find other ways to save money. So for me it was really hard to sit down and choose who’s life I was going to affect. Unless you are a C level executive, you are as much of a pawn as the rest. This layoff for Nike is 1,500 people, but that’s 2%… Really? That 2% of “extra people” was dragging-down the company? I get that, but don’t expect people to sympathize with the ‘hard position’ you’re in when their entire livelihood is being thrown out the door, either. Lol our CEO had monthly “town hall” meetings to reassure us everything was going good and on track, then one meeting day he wasn’t here. That was when they told us the company had no money and was for sale. It was hard! All the consulting with HR and legal teams to make sure they fire you with the least liability possible! You losing your job, mortgage and home costs them literally hours of time and I think you don’t appreciate that. They had to fly down in first class to tell us in person! They could have been doing anything that day instead of visiting some podunk production facility! Well, it was really hard to choose between doing a layoff of everyone OR giving up my executive bonus, golden parachute, and 300x average employee salary.
He waltzed into our facility wearing clothes that wouldn’t pass muster on the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this floor for safety reasons costing hundreds of dollars we can’t afford because they wouldn’t pay us more to tell us it was hard to lay us off. Khakis and nice sneakers and a polo would have been fine and would have detracted nothing from the watch worth more than my car. I understand the logic of why a lot of higher-ups are paid in stock, as a sort of “if the company does well you do well”. But it’s created this entire facade where the C Suite is incentivized to sacrifice the health of the company in order to bump stock prices for a payout. We recently had corporate tell us that they were going to start rating our performance on how many work orders we closed out. I tried very hard to explain that all that would accomplish is us gaming the system and ultimately less work being done. They literally could not understand what I was saying and kept coming back around to “But if more work orders get completed then it means more work is getting done.”
important to note this was not normal behavior until relatively modern history. and some folks are working to undue what reagan unleashed “Prior to 1982, stock buybacks were considered illegal stock manipulation, but President Reagan’s Securities and Exchange Commission implemented a rule to exempt them. Since then, we’ve seen corporations spending money on boosting their own stock at the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this expense of investing in innovation and their workforce, increasing wages, or lowering prices. Over the past year, Big Oil companies and other industries drove up costs for consumers while rewarding their shareholders with buybacks. It’s time to put a stop to this greed. I’m proud to join Reps. García and Hoyle as a cosponsor of the Reward Work Act to repeal this rule that has only exacerbated inequality in our country,” said Rep. Khanna.
A dividend stuffs the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this money in a shareholder’s pocket. A buyback keeps that money tied up where the controlling interests can direct it, either towards subsidiaries that can be milked, bonuses that the board can authorize, or any other number of ways to convert stock value into cash for a handful of powerful interests. The truth is, by facilitating buybacks, a company is now at odds between doing what is best for the company’s health, and the possible short vs long term benefits of reinvestment vs dividend payouts. As leadership of the company is often largely compensated via stock, massive conflicts of interest can arise. If I’m a C-level sitting on a ticking time bomb, it’s in my interest to pump and dump the stock before the wheels fall off the bus.
Buybacks are a strategy of consolidating power. If you, personally, aren’t in a position to push for a buyback, it almost certainly not in your, personal, best interest, and invariably not in the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this interest of the average employees or the communities that support and depend on these enterprises. So many companies have bought back stock, raised prices of goods, claimed record profits, then laid off thousands of people in the past 6 months. There are legitimate use cases for them but they certainly need to be more regulated. Specifically execs and those who are compensated primarily in stock should not be allowed to sell within a certain period of time before and after the buyback or receive bonuses based on stock increase within that time period. That would probably solve most of the issues. Layoff announcement = stock go up. Even though attrition would be cheaper, real dollars only matter so much compared to investor sentiment.
Additionally, layoffs should prevent you from being able to increase headcount for 3 years. So, if you do a layoff, you are stuck at that size and could miss out on future growth periods. Additionally, layoffs should prevent you from being able to increase headcount for 3 years. So, if you do a layoff, you are stuck at that size and could miss out on future growth periods. Are you arguing that a company shouldn’t be able to change direction? And workers should just sit there with nothing to do? Nike didn’t grow as quickly as other s&p500 companies. They have to show wallstreet their serious about keeping on track or the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this short interest grows Okay? Are you and your leadership team going to take a pay cut to save those people’s jobs? If not, those are just empty words. What’s hilarious to me is that they spent 5 billion last year in stoxk buybacks. Assuming every single employee was making near 6 figures that they fired, they could have employed all 1500 for 30 years with that money, but that’s not what’s important to businesses. A short term bump in the stock price is worth more then long term investments in the company, and that’s a problem. Spent $5,000,000,000 of company funds to buy back company stock so that the CEO, his “leadership team” & Nike shareholders who hold large stock positions can all get richer from selling their shares. Let’s do some napkin math real fast and say that each of those employees made a median income of $50,000 per year. That comes to 75 million dollars a year, which means had they not blown five billy on themselves then those 1,500 people coulda stayed employed at $50k/yr for more than 65 fucking years
LOL, I’ve heard that before We need to stop consuming products made by these behemoths and support smaller companies that don’t use sweatshop labor and have record profits yet keep laying employees off. What’s gonna happen when the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this consumer base no longer has the capital to purchase all this junk because all the wealth has been concentrated even more than it is now? It’s not just Nike. We need to avoid all these greedy/profiteering multinational corporations. Especially fast food. We have to stop this. Smaller companies pay minimum wage and act like it’s a fucking favor. The boss doesn’t follow the labor laws because he doesn’t even know them. He does know that he needs to wring every last penny out of you, and will try to short your hours and steal your wages at every opportunity. America loves to go on and on about the needs of small business owners. You never hear a goddamn thing about small business employees, though. Nobody cares if they live or die, or what benefits they never get, or how many food stamps they need to afford groceries. Honestly, yeah. You see this on every sub, horror stories of small companies acting like weird cults or something. They’re hoping to save 2 billion in the next few years. Well, how about that four-year, $15 billion program approved by the Board of Directors in June 2018?
While I assume this is a joke because it’s the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this same letters as IDGAF, I’m reasonably certain this usage would be ‘Go die in a fire’ My dad got let go from a smaller company named Florida tile because he had been there for 30+ years and was making a shit ton of money a year due to seniority. So they terminated his position in the company renamed it to something else and hired a new hire they could pay probably 70K less per year. And my dad wasn’t the only one they did that to, all to save a few bucks Literally anything other than that chatGPT-ridden bullshit of a response while trying to sound pseudo spiritual. Unless those 1,500 people were each making $15 million a year, I’m pretty sure that they could have covered the salaries.
Yet…your ‘leadership’ resulted in harming 1500 families and their communities. You and your leadership team have had no consequences I have a bunch of friends who were laid off in this round, the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this CEO didnt do jack shit and is going to get a fat bonus for “improving efficiency”. These statements are so hilariously out of touch at this point what is even the purpose of making them? Saying nothing would honestly be better. If you have not driven buy the Nike Campus and thought how can a company have that many employees at a location that doesn’t even manufacture any product. I don’t know what to tell you. Why aren’t they flooding the market with re-issues and destroying both the repro and the collector (re)sales all while making bucks selling shoes to me that I couldn’t afford as a kid in the 80s?
So he’s going to hold himself accountable by cutting his bonus to pay for extended severance packages for them right? RIGHT? And we will continue to make overpriced uncomfortable shoes, and label them “limited edition” so suckers buy them. If he held himself accountable, he would lower his millions in compensation to save the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this jobs he could, which are probably the jobs at the bottom and by the people who need them the most I don’t understand how these mass layoffs work. Weren’t these people doing something? How do you lay off that many people and not suddenly have a huge obstruction to operations? “Hey John good morning have a good day, by the way we fired half your team.” Projects or entire products are cancelled, release timelines are moved back, and the remaining employees are expected to do more work for the rest, basically. And the asshole took in a 30+ million dollar bonus I wonder how many of those 1500 employees pay offset his bonus. I have heard many, many CEOs say this, sometimes at places where I worked and ya know what? They take responsibility for nothing, ever. “hold myself and my leadership team accountable’” By firing all the handworkers and giving him and his Team a raise.
this is wild. “you guys, this is my fault.” fires a small towns worth of people while enjoying a 10mm increase in his end of year bonus He cares so much that he will give up zero of his 2024 compensation package. Thoughts and prayers for laid off employees and their families. I mean, if it was his responsibility, Maybe he should go a year without his more than $30 million salary pay and spread that among the Indiana Hoosiers Vs Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2024 2025 CFP Playoff 1st Round Notre Dame Stadium Shirt in other words I will buy this 1500 whos fault it wasn’t and are losing their livelihoods because of him… That’s what “being held accountable” actually means… I worked for Nike for quite a while under the previous CEO and about two years after Donahoe took over. The culture shift was palpable. You could feel it, a genuine old guard vs new situation. A lot of the people who built Nike behind the scenes into what it is started leaving in droves after he took over. He was able to lead a shift in the digital marketplace but absolutely destroyed the culture in the process which is what made Nike, Nike.
