Fuck Saudi Arabia and fuck any American that thinks a place that is OK with treating women like garbage and having slavery is a nice place to visit. Fuck You. I lived in Dammam as a kid in one of these. Ours wasn’t super luxurious, but my mom didn’t have to cover up her hair, and most people made bathtub wine “Luxurious”. I grew up in Saudi city in Jeddah. It’s the equivalent of any upper middle class American suburb. Hardly anything fancy. Maybe the Republicans can go there after they get their ass handed to them for years into the future. It sounds like the ultimate red state. It has oil, repressive governments, walled communities, they even have slaves. It is just like the “good old days” they are always referring to. Got offered a job in Saudi Arabia a while back which would have payed me 2.5x my current salary and they flew me and the wife out to look at one of these places we would stay at and they would provide. I loved every thing about it. Almost no crime there and everything is extremely respectable unlike in the US.

They had a GORGEOUS woman come out to speak to us, she took off her headdress and explained to us she doesn’t have to wear it, but chooses to do to when in her country. After hearing some stuff about their plans to grow agriculture and solar power (10 years later I still haven’t heard about strawberries growing in the desert) we got lunch.
