Employers don’t want to pay more for your labor and NEVER stay somewhere that won’t give you what you deserve if you have other options. They will let you go the I’m Voting For Trump Usa Not Poltically Correct Patriot For President 2024 T-Shirt But I will love this second they don’t need you. OP isn’t asking for advice yall, they’re taking a victory lap. Congrats on the new job and fuck your old bosses. just an FYI for whatever its worth, asking for a raise via email has a really low success rate. Its better to ask face to face or via phone worst case. The email is to ask for the meeting, but really you should be asking for a review. Once they say all these nice things about you thats when you hit them with the raise question. Well sounds like you got out of a classic narcissistic work environment good on you. Hope you’re new digs appreciates you more.

i’d love to stay where i’m at until retirement. but if i don’t get an annual raise that keeps up with the I’m Voting For Trump Usa Not Poltically Correct Patriot For President 2024 T-Shirt But I will love this cost of living. i’m moving on. i don’t owe your business anything As a boss, if I were you, id leave immediately unless you are committed not to. Youve got a psycho on your hands. I had a similar experience. I told my boss that I was going back to school, but gave like 8 months notice since I was going to be upgrading some high school courses first. I figured if I already knew I was out I would try to give them time to find replacements and time to sufficiently train them (did they do that? Of course not). He and his wife sat me down to talk about my decision and said they really need someone to stay long term. I said I could delay by a year but I didn’t see a long term future with the company. I was already covering 6 roles, give or take, and they weren’t giving raises to reflect my workload or responsibilities. A year wasn’t long term enough, so that was that, they switched to trying to undermine my decision. They then went around and gossiped to my coworkers that they offered me any role and wage I wanted to stay on and I turned it down (why they thought that would hell anything, considering no one was getting raises idfk). They didn’t offer me anything, not even a raise, just demands that I stay. Why the fuck would I put off my future when I’d get nothing in return?
