But to be honest, whenever someone asks me the I’m The Proud Son of a Freaking Awesome Mom T-Shirt moreover I will buy this question “when will you have kids” it sounds about as logical and realistic as “when will you become an F1 driver?” It has nothing to do with my financial or social situation, or even with my attitude to children. My brother has little kids, and I ADORE them! I don’t have the stamina to take care of them 24/7, but I play with them and try to be there for them. But still, my parental instinct is not triggered. I have plenty of logical reasons to not have kids from every day practical stuff to it being bad for the enviroment, but ultimately, I just FEEL it is not for me, and it doesn’t make sense to me. And I will not apologize for my vagueness. I didn’t want kids, but I was of the mindset that if I got pregnant, then I’d be the best mom that I could. A few years ago, the possibility was completely removed due to a precancerous situation being discovered. Never having to worry about being on birth control to regulate cycles or needing to carry around emergency feminine supplies has been a godsend. Now, I focus on being the fun aunt to my nephew and my friends’ kids… less stress, more fun… win/win.

I like my spare time to myself and I’m quite fond of money, both of which will suffer if I ever had kids. Only thing I don’t like is that my family name will die with me but it is what it is. A relative of mine, by now already retired, is child free. I don’t actually know if she never wanted children or if she and her husband just weren’t able to have children. Her husband had head of departement in a company but coming from a familiy of puppeteer he also did this part-time with his wife and a magician, while she painted childrens faces on events where he did some magic tricks. Now they are already retired for a while and decided no more dogs, because they are afraid that they could come to a point in life where they maybe aren’t able to take care anymore for a dog. But still they are always busy. They still have their hobbies and are very active, she still sews. They love guests.
