When I was working in front, had a long line at the register and the customers were complaining. Than the coach went to to them and yelled “if you don’t like it. You can use self checkout. “ than walked away lol I once had a customer come to me at 10:45pm and complain about no registers being open. I politely informed him that I had 10 registers open right there pointed to self checkout. He cussed me out and told me he was reporting it to HO, to which I responded “That’s your choice but I can tell you that all they will do is check video and see that I indeed have 10 registers open and discard your complaint, you are in the minority sir” My Coach encouraged my behavior when I informed her of what took place. The customer is not always right and I refuse to take insults from the minority who won’t evolve with the times As a customer, I find it almost mind boggling that people complain so much about self checkout. Like it’s the best thing ever, especially as a dude with Asperger’s.

They’ll do it because they have to if there are no registers open with cashiers, but they won’t like it. get over it. It’s not about it being difficult. It’s kind of amazing how there was zero pushback from associates to adding self checkout when it ended up costing tons of jobs. But it didn’t cost jobs. You still need associates to manage the self checkout areas. All it did was free up associates to do GM freight during the day Why don’t billion dollar corporations hire enough staff to do BOTH jobs. There should be cashier only jobs. WITH CHAIRS I actually like working customer service, but because of the horrible treatment from management I’ll never work there again Oh wait, you don’t want to work for Walmart. Seems like that’s the problem, people not wanting to work there. And gee, I wonder if it’s because you’re treated like shit by customers who want to ride their high horse wherever they go? If I was paid 25 or 30 bucks an hour with decent time off, holidays and pto, and good health insurance, I would have absolutely no issue working there. Unfortunately no one I’ve EVER met that has worked for Walmart has ever gotten any of those things. Several of my friends were fired even though they had FMLA for caring for elderly and sick parents. And for the couple of weeks that I worked there in my youth I sure the fuck didn’t get paid any livable wage. You have ZERO fucking clue what we get paid when we promote past base level associate. Our benefits are awesome, and you’re lying about your friends being fired for FMLA. It’s federal law.
