They’re trying to wow you with useless trinkets and bullshit so you pay $85 for 2 tickets, 2 popcorns and 2 drinks when you go out for movie night. If I’m paying a decent amount of movie to watch something outside of my home, then it better be fucking silent. Every time I hear people complain about the theater experience it makes me super grateful to live in Austin where I have two Alamos right next to me. They apparently have forgotten that many of us are already reluctant to go in a theater. Why not discourage us even more! I went to buy tickets for this movie at the local AMC and they were $20 each. Simply, they lost my business on this one. How can they think this is a good idea. The pandemic has shown people why they don’t need to watch movies in the movie theaters. AMC decided to remind people why they should stop watching movies in movie theaters. Let’s say I want to go see this movie. Do I pay the normal rate (or doubtfully, the slightly less rate) knowing I’m getting the absolute worse seat. Do I pay more for a better seat, or more for the best seat. Or do I look at the price and realize I could buy the VOD that comes out in a couple weeks for a fraction of the price of two tickets (I live in California so some theaters it’s less than the price of ONE ticket, cineopolis!)

I know there are those of you who love theaters, but the I’m a grandma and a Dallas Stars fan which means I’m pretty much perfect shirt Additionally,I will love this fact is 99 percent of people don’t want to go and have the theater experience, and I have a feeling many people may never go back like they used to. This only reinforces that. Not only that, completely waste of the marketing. If the first month of showtimes are overpriced, people wait, then marketing fades, they have just lost. Well looks like I won’t go to any AMC. Regal is way better anyway, with their giant reclining seats, it’s the way to go. I have switched to cinemark. I feel like the popcorn tastes better, and I enjoy their rewards program much more. It’s 9 bucks a month and I get 1 free ticket that carries over and 20-25% off concessions (I can’t remember how much). We’ve had a dry spell in January so I had my January and February tickets and get to see Batman for 20 dollars (the price of the subscription both months) instead of the 40+ for two tickets.
