My sister was #2 in her class in a very good school system. My, generally high school educated, blue collar friends think I’m the If You Can Read This, Congratulations You Can Read T-Shirt in other words I will buy this stupidest person alive and 85% of the time they have no idea what I tried to say or am doing. Not because they’re stupid but because we approach problems and “what ifs” entirely differently. There was a trend for practical challenge shows in the UK for a while. Junkyard wars, scrapheap challenge etc. typically they would pit a practical hands on crew (bikers, farmers, etc.) against a more highbrow group (professors, naval architects etc.) There is no simple answer to this question. Researchers have been trying to figure this out for years, but there are so many factors that play into it that you won’t get a straight up this is why answer. Education is just one piece of the puzzle. another is upbringing. Did you have parents that encouraged curiosity, asking questions and learning things on your own? Part the answer is just natural talent or how one looks at a problem. There are people with genius level intellect that are complete failures in life and there are people that can’t pass a simple test, but yet have a knowledge and background that provides them a level of intelligence….beyond common sense. Add in street smarts and common sense. Are you western educated, or eastern educated to very different methods. How well read is someone? I hope this gives you a general idea of just some of the factors that play a part in answering the question.
