The point is that there are always going to be thoughts. But with practice. the If they asked you never saw me bigfoot T-Shirt but in fact I love this thoughts will lessen. The gaps between the thoughts widen. And it’s the gaps where are get a taste of peace/freedom. this is what I was talking about in my post, nobody seems to be able to explain how this is possible and as far as I know, your brain can never fully be quiet, so it seems impossible. You have instances in your day, be it for a couple of seconds, where you have no thoughts and you’re in the moment. With mediation practice, not only will you be aware of those moments, but you will also have those seconds stretch longer and longer. It’s not easy, and no one said it was ever easy. That’s why many people give up the minute they see no positive effects.

Like I said elsewhere in this thread, it’s a matter of long training for most people, but if you follow the If they asked you never saw me bigfoot T-Shirt but in fact I love this program outlined here, thoughts will cease in the state called The Cessation of Perception and Feeling. Take a moment to become aware of your surroundings. Listen to the noises. Feel the body sensations in the feet, hands, and face. Feel the breath moving in and out. 3. Peer into that thought-space like you’re peering into a fishpond to get a glimpse of a beautiful fish. This is an analogy; you needn’t picture an actual pond. 5. It can help to simultaneously notice the quietude between the thoughts or in the waiting period before a thought begins. Often a thought is noticed in contrast to that quietude.
