Horrid that happened to you. What has become of this City. Can highly recommend Krav Maga to you! Mostly as it’s centred around quite practical ways to defend oneself and escape danger. Which isn’t to knock other art forms. I’m sure there’s plenty you’d enjoy. I think I just liked that KM really was just a lot of preparing your muscle memory to kick in when things kick off. London Krav Maga have a school near Tottenham Court Road. I used to go to their NW1 branch a few years back and loved it. Should also mention they do both mixed classes and female only / female led options as well. I did mixed and the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt in contrast I will get this class was roughly 50/50 Krav Maga classes are what you want. Other martial arts are great ‘skills’ but KM is all about inflicting as much pain and aggression as quickly as possibly. I used to go to KB Fitness in North London and loved it! It’s women led and you get free self defense classes with a kickboxing membership I’d recommend looking into Krav Maga – I did it for a few years, there are plenty of different groups offering it and it is focused on practical self defence. I train at JTT Muay Thai in Brixton. Has a really strong crowd of women, and the coaches wife is one of the best fighters in England ATM. They also do women only sessions. Priced reasonably well also.

Thing with martial arts is that you need to stick with it, but will end up giving you loads of confidence in yourself, as well as fitness to boot. 9 times out of 10 the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but best solution is to run away, but for those odd chances, knowing how to break someone’s knee can be handy I would also recommend buying a rape alarm and self defence legal spray from Amazon – it shoots out a red dye onto the attackers face. Can just put both of these things onto your key ring. London can be a scary city especially for us women, the people here saying to not bother because you won’t be able to fight against a man don’t understand that it’s also about mindset and knowing that if it came to it hopefully you will be able to defend yourself not remaining in the mindset that you’re too weak and an easy target forever. The Jiu Jitsu Foundation have clubs all around London. They are Japanese based Jiu Jitsu and incorporate a good mix of self defence alongside the more fun side of Martial Arts.
Just want to say, lone female being followed through the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but streets is a worthy 999 call and the Met would send a car out if you were inclined to call them. Jujitsu is designed to allow a trained smaller practitioner to defeat a larger untrained opponent. If you’re a weak (your words) woman, boxing isn’t going to help you. Jujitsu will. I would be amiss if I didn’t warn you against self defense classes. A sense of safety is really important, but a FALSE sense of safety is actively dangerous, and that’s what a lot of self defense classes actually offer Still do the class if you want but also trust your instinct to feel unsafe. Don’t take unnecessary risks and take precautions. In the meantime, try calling someone while you are walking. It’s a huge deterrent to any attackers and it will take your mind off the stress. It would be cheaper and easier to order an Uber every time than walk and get good enough at a martial art to effectively use it false bravado from being able to roll with a trainer who is nice and doesn’t just pick you up and slam you in bjj or whatever is more likely to fuck up your instincts and get you in knife/ grab range of a dude twice your weight and size Find the nearest MMA gym and learn a variety of things. I think the best philosophy in your situation would be how to create space in a bad situation so you can run away. If a guy has grabbed you, on top of you, behind you, standing in front blocking your path. Something like bjj will teach you how to escape when someone is on top of you trying to hold you down. Kickboxing or muay thai can teach you how to put enough sting in a strike to make the guy pause so you can run away.
Some information about I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt
Don’t listen to people who say you can’t. You absolutely can. I’ve been training for almost 30 years and I’ve met plenty of women smaller than me who were absolute savages. One woman kicked so hard I could feel her shin bone through her shin guard. She wasn’t a pro fighter. She was a journalist.
About a month ago, I was in bed, scrolling through TikTok as always. I live alone, so it wasn’t unusual to have random thoughts when I’m by myself. But that night was different. Out of nowhere, I had this thought telling me, “this is my last night, I should write a goodbye letter before I die.” I wasn’t stressed or sad; the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but thought just popped up. It stuck around for about 10 minutes until I started to question myself, “what am I thinking? Am I crazy? This isn’t my thought.” And I got scared because I don’t want to die. I told my best friend about it the next day, and she told me something that shocked me. She said she had a weird feeling that someone might die that night too. She was worried about her ex, so she messaged him, but nothing happened. It’s been on my mind ever since. Was I picking up on someone else’s thoughts, or was it a warning of something bad to come?
What do you think? Ever had a strange experience like this?I used to work in a nightclub with my best friend, Anjeli. One night I was off and she was working. We usually got off around 2am. The club was in a bad area of town and had a pretty rough crowd. I woke up around 2am, hyperventilating, almost having a panic attack. I just felt like something was wrong. Thought I might be going crazy. My friend randomly crossed my mind and I said a quick prayer for her that she was safe (I used to be a Christian so I used to pray). Then I went back to sleep. The next day she told me she was leaving the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but club around 2am. When she got to her car, there were two men inside. She didn’t see them until she opened the door. They grabbed her arm and tried to force her into the car, telling her to drive. She said she remembered something I’d once told her. I’d seen on Oprah that if someone tries to kidnap you in a parking lot, fight to the death, because if they manage to take you a way you’re statistically most likely dead. She fought back and started pulling away, trying to stall, offering money. (She had bruises all over her arm.) Suddenly she heard police sirens. There was a pretty strong police presence in the area, so there must have been a call nearby. The guys got scared when they heard the sirens and ran off into the woods behind the club, so my friend was able to jump in her car and get away from there.
She later found out that, at the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but exact same time, her mom had a nightmare. In the nightmare it was pitch black, but she heard voices talking, saying, “Yeah, we’re going to rob her and rape her and kill her.” She woke up and immediately started praying. I’m no longer a Christian, I’m an agnostic now, so I don’t know what to think of what happened. Can’t be a coincidence that her mom and I had the same experience at the same time this was happening to my friend. I guess there are forces at play I will never know about. That’s absolutely chilling but also incredibly intriguing. Trusting your gut can sometimes be a lifesaver. I’m really relieved your friends are okay. Thanks for sharing My two friends had the same dream. They were talking about it one time. I’ve always wanted to have the same dream as someone ever since.
You sensing that something bad was happening to someone close to you is surprisingly more common then you think. It happens with family members twins close friends etc. I only recently started experiencing sleep paralysis and it’s genuinely horrifying and I’d always thought the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but sleep paralysis demon jokes were just jokes. They aren’t. The first time I experienced it I was stuck for what felt like an hour and could only move my eyes. I looked at my bedroom door, which was mostly open and there was this thing there staring at me that could only be described as a demon. It would laugh every now and then and say “I’m going to make my knife your friend”. I didn’t realize what was happening at the time but if I didn’t know sleep paralysis was a thing I think that would have driven me insane. My door stays closed now though
I usually force myself to hyperventilate so I can exit sleep paralysis. It is true you seem to be able to control your eyes only, but you can slowly control breathing. Had it so many times, had to develop a system :p hope it helps When I was in a super abusive relationship, I’d get sleep paralysis pretty often towards the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but end when the abuse was the worst. I’ve never experienced it outside of that situation, but when I’d get it I was able to eventually remember to try and wiggle a finger or toe. At first it was like I was still dreaming but my dream was happening in my bedroom and I’d realize I was awake and couldn’t move. I’d see spiders or mice crawling everywhere sometimes. It was terrifying because my son would be asleep in his room, and my immediate thought every time was “I cannot get up to grab him if he starts crying” even though I knew it only lasted a minute or two. I wouldn’t wish sleep paralysis on anybody, I was already sleep deprived from the abusive setting but at that point I was scared to try and fall asleep because I knew the sleep paralysis would hit me! Thankfully it has never happened again since the last night my son and I stayed in that house.
I woke up to tapping noises on my window. My bedroom is on the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but second floor, so I knew that was odd to begin with. Plus, nothing ever wakes me so that was odd too. I got out of bed and tilted my blinds slightly. There was a guy wearing a pig mask just throwing tiny rocks at my window. We locked eyes and he stopped. He then zipped up his jumper and put his hood back up and walked away down the street. Never saw him again or had any reoccurrence. I wonder what he wanted and why he was doing it, I guess il never know. Perhaps he had the wrong house? Did you live in a subdivision, or did all the houses on your street look similar? Like he was trying to wake up a friend and then was like Oops. I have these “dreams” that I’ve had my whole life. When I was a kid, they were debilitating and would terrify me. As an adult, I recognize them as harmless and am usually able to deal. They are difficult to describe because I’m not asleep, I refer to them as “dreams” cause I couldn’t think of what else to call them as a kid. They always begin while I’m in a dreaming state so I just assumed they were a continuation of dreaming.
It’s always a mundane dream, grocery shopping with my mother for example, and suddenly, some type of numbering or lettering will be the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but wrong size in the dream. This is so hard to describe. Like, the numbers on the cash register will suddenly be very large, even though they are in the same physical position, and they will start to crowd out my vision. This always kicked off panic and I would jerk awake. Now it gets weird. My vision issue in dreamland would continue into my waking state. But now it applies to everything and proportions are all off. For example, I’ll wake up and my room will appear to be crowding in on me, like a closet, and then suddenly, everything wooshes back and the room appears cavernous, like a cathedral. Objects will seem to kind of breathe within their boundaries.
I’ll hear sounds incorrectly as well. It’s like a conversation happening on an old radio program from several rooms away. I can hear talking but can never make out what’s being said. It doesn’t matter anyway cause it’s always 2am or something so the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but sounds are never really there. Other times it will be like there are waves crashing or something in the background. They don’t go away, I can never get back to sleep, the perception issues continue until the morning comes. The only thing that would help me not totally freak out as a kid was to go downstairs and turn on all the lights in one room and then read something so I could focus on one point and try and keep all the movement to my peripheral vision. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t.
I have no explanation for this experience. It’s happened to me periodically for as long as I can remember. My father never believed me when I was young. I’ve described them to doctors and therapists and the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but responses have always been vague. I have had no physical trauma to my brain. I do not have mental health issues related to schizophrenia or psychosis. I’m 41 now and they only happen once in blue moon. I still struggle to sleep once I’m stuck in them but nowadays I don’t require the same ritual I did as a kid. Maybe just experience? They still disorient me but I’m not as disoriented by the disorientation I guess hahaha That sounds quite disconcerting. Have you ever heard of Alice in Wonderland Syndrome? It’s a neurological condition where everything seems disproportionate for a while. Your experience reminded me of it but I’m no expert.
Your description of the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but cash register numbers and visual perception changes reminds me very much of when I did acid. It started kicking in and my phone screen and hands zoomed way into my face and the letters on the screen got really big! I wonder if there’s a connection somehow in brain chemistry or something unique going on with you that might be like an extremely rare type of disorder and maybe wouldn’t even be named because it doesn’t seem to cause you too much of a medical problem? Just speculation Wow, if I had gone through this as a child, I wouldn’t have known how to cope. But you manage it admirably. It’s truly a fascinating and peculiar experience! I attempt to envision it myself. But I feel sorry that you still encounter these episodes. I hope you’re managing well. Thanks for sharing I was walking the dog on a path between two fields and had just remembered something. I was going to take my phone and make a note, when a passing magpie dropped a felt tip pen a few steps in front of me. I’m old, I’m used to writing stuff I want to remember on my hand – so I happily used the sky pen, and left it on a fence post for the magpie.
This happened when I was about 3 years old. There was still much to do on the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but outside of my childhood home back then, so there was a big pile of sand right in front of the main door – which we children loved of course! I remember it being my sister’s birthday and we were playing in the sand with her friends when our mum called for us to go inside. I was the last to get to the door, but it shut right in front of me. When I turned around I saw a dark figure floating towards me from the other side of the street (picture a dementor, only this was pre Harry Potter). It stopped right in front of me and grabbed my hand, leaving a red mark on my finger. That’s when I woke up. The next thing I remember is trying to wash off that mark. Aaannd that’s when I woke up again – or at least that’s how my 3 year old brain remembered. Although it faded over the years, I still have the red mark on my finger by the way.
Actually, quite recent.. Unfortunately for the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but past 4 months there’s been deaths in my extended family, and everytime before someone would die, I would get this feeling. Like not any sad depressed kinda feeling, but just this weird melancholy feeling… The first time it happened I ignored it. The second time it happened I was sceptical. The third time I dreaded it. The 4th time which was this month I blamed myself for not acting upon it even when it came. And I remembered that before this during lockdown I’d gotten this feeling twice too, and even then 2 ppl had died…guess its rlly some larger forces at play. When I was 20 years old, I borrowed my sister‘s motorcycle to drive back to college, which is about 80 miles away. It was a Sunday and it was raining. My father kept asking me and pleading me not to leave Sunday night and to leave in the morning instead, because he had a bad feeling. I ignored it Told him I’m fine, just like any 20-year-old person who feels invincible. That night, after driving 40 miles an hour on a highway through pouring rain. I finally took my exit and came to a stop. Look both ways no cars in sight. Eased out into the road, and about five seconds later, I saw the headlights of a car 10 feet behind me about to hit me. I was only going about 25 miles an hour and he was probably going about 80. I slid down the road with my hands, glued to the handlebars about 100 feet and felt the car brushed by my back as it went by me, stopped, and when I got up, it drove away. Amazingly all I had was a scratch on my wrist and lots of torn out rain gear. The motorcycle was totaled.
This happened last 2020, pandemic struck, and all of us was in some sort of a strict lockdown. In my side of the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but world, there were also lots of earthquakes happening at that time, and it caused our bedroom wall to form dangerous and alarming cracks, in which we figured out that it might crumble down in the worst case scenario, while all of us are asleep. So we decided to sleep on the living room where all our masks and other important stuff were put in a safe big bag so we could just grab those and quickly exit the house when the worst happens. It just happened one night while I was in a deep slumber, note: I never get sleep paralysis. I never experienced those, until that night. I was sleeping peacefully. I am a big sleeper and it would take 5400 marching bands to wake me up. But something within, lurking around the house in which I can feel despite the darkness and void that is filling the room that made me open and widen my eyes. Have you guys experienced being in a sleep paralysis where you guys won’t be able to move? yes, I was not able to move back then. I was facing sideways, where I can see that far side of the kitchen. There I saw two black figures, with glowing green eyes. One looks like a woman with a dark veil, holding a bouquet of dead flowers. I can see the face slightly, and I know that it is staring right back at me. Beside that was a small boy, sitting on top of the cupboard. Like a fucking spiderman, basically just crouching down with the legs open slightly, hands on the cupboard between the legs for balance. Intently looking at me with same colored eyes as well. I tried to close my eyes but my body won’t let me. It’s like they want me to just stare at them while they take my soul out of my body. Luckily, I was able to do so and I had never gasped for breath that much before. This one I will always remember. And how it bought goosebumps and chills to my spine despite being a very big horror fan.
The strangest experience I’ve ever had was about 6 years ago. Me and a friend out driving late at night, around 11pm, when we were driving through a small wooded area (think single lane roads, between 2 fairly populated points of the I root for two team the Lions and whoever is playing the Cowboys shirt it is in the first place but city) and on this 2 mile stretch of road there was a nun stood at the side of the road letting us pass. I drove by, at around 30mph, and she followed the car with her head and her eyes fixed straight toward us. We were both shook to the core, I’m a believer of the spirit world but not at all religious otherwise and this nun was something completely unexpected. This road is actually about half a mile from a mental institute, but doesn’t have many buildings on it except for a couple of farms, a handful of residential houses either side and an abandoned house a few hundred yards back from where we drove before we seen her so it’s incredibly strange that the nun was stood in the middle of the lanes late at night. No, we didn’t stop, I didn’t look back, and speaking to people who believe in omens apparently it was a positive sign but it definitely didn’t feel positive. I drive this road at least once a month for work reasons and every single time it’s during the day but I probably will never use it after dark ever again.
