Historically some white women have added racism to it as well. Black men in particular have gotten lynched because this societal concept mixed with racism made looking at a white lady dangerous. Anything even slightly close to the topic of motherhood will have some fairly toxic push back. Being shitty to women who prefer a traditional housewife type relationship. Too many women act like the male breadwinner / female housekeeper dynamic is objectively bad.

Should women be forced into this role? Fuck no. Should women be regarded as failures of women for wanting it? Also no. I grew up with that. Very cool! It’s kinda increasingly normalized in nordic countries, for example mum taking a year at home after birth and then switching the roles the following year.
