I want to move to a more tropical climate, the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this people I speak to in these areas don’t even get to appreciate living there because real life is in the way. I feel like this every time I travel. I don’t belong anywhere 🙁 It’s a really horrible feeling that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. That could be a signal that you might need a change. Might be that you are more in tune and like Europe than Mexico City. If there is nothing holding you in your home town why not try moving for a year and see how it goes. If things don’t work out well you can always go back. In any case you will have learned a lot both for yourself and the world in general. Maybe do some journaling about what your expectations were especially in regards to your friend. We change slowly over our lives from day to day but sometimes we are rocketed into a 4th dimension and we can’t keep up with the new info never mind all of the feelings that go with all of the changes. You don’t need to take any actions or make any decisions. Just move slowly and let all of this unfold in time.Be gentle with yourself and others.
I like you alotl Shirt: Unleash Your Inner Fighter
Yeah. Totally normal. You caught the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this “bug”. Don’t we travelers all wish we could move to Europe and live the dream life? Seems like only super rich people (who make $500k+ per year) can afford to move to and live comfortably there. And depending on where they live, they could be taxed outrageously to do so. It’s difficult to find a job, learn the language, get citizenship, etc. You have to have something of value to offer in exchange for citizenship or they don’t really want you. Then there are the lucky ones who have a family connection or career opportunity there. Now I’m back in my country and on the ride from the airport to my place I felt overwhelmingly sad and not excited to be here, almost feels like I don’t belong or there’s nothing else for me in my city.
I live in the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this UK, most people across all of Europe don’t have the same experience as a tourist in 99% of their day to day lives living in that city. Their lives are full of stress, bills I literally live in a town with a Castle, however after walking past the castle god knows how many times in my life I don’t even register that it’s there anymore. If you picked up and moved to one of these places you’d quickly find out that the tourist experience /= the real life experience I realized what it was though and I hate to say it because it’s morbid, but I’ll be honest as I see you live in Mexico City and I believe you a similar problem there… For me it’s the break from the constant threat of gun violence. In Europe, being caught in gunfire it’s not really something that even enters your mind. You’re not being patted down, having your purse searched or xrayed, having to go through metal detectors, etc at many places like the zoo, botanical garden, or a museum. In Europe I can be a little less vigilant about my surroundings. I mean, I’m not an idiot, I’m still aware of mass casualty events but I’m not on high alert like I am at home. I’m from US and after 8 months in Spain i just came back last month and I feel like I don’t belong anywhere, a weird feeling. I’ll go back in April and see what happen to my emotions lol I feel my destiny is to be on vacation – pretty much anywhere. Alpharetta, Georgia, maybe. I don’t care. I don’t belong back at work and my alarm clock makes me sad. O, Woe, is me!

I live in Toronto, possibly the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this best public transit system in N. America. Every time I come back from Europe I feel depressed about how terrible it is here compared to there. Even many Asian cities have public transit better than here. Everytime I come back to US – SoCal to be specific I am so depressed about our lack of good public transportation FWIW I think Toronto has amazing transportation But of course Europe has the density in theirs genuine question, how is living in canada? Multiple people here mentioned not enjoying canada. My short time there was lovely, as an european tourist. Is it more a bit of “the grass is always greener” or are there specific things? Depends where. Toronto itself is very cold, extremely expensive, unaffordable housing, with very low wages, “diversity” that self-segregates, a lack of historic architecture to give the city a sense of character, and is very consumerist and faux-flashy.
It’s overpriced to live here unfortunately unless you make a very decent income, especially in the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this larger cities. Some places, like Winnipeg, are more affordable, but there’s a reason why: the cold weather. I would tell you don’t listen to the people telling you this is normal and you will get over it. Be bold, make a change if your mind and body are telling you that you don’t belong here. It’s a big world and it’s too easy to stay in our comfy little bubble. I don’t really understand what’s written in this post. Why was it disappointing to be in Europe? Didn’t you like the trip or didn’t you like coming back to where you live? Or maybe both? Did something happen to you? Was it a working trip or a holiday? Did you go to the same country (or countries) as last time? Also, Europe has many countries with many different cultures and vibes. I just don’t know how to respond because there’s too much to unpack in the story and at the same time I have too many questions. 100% I get this. It’s like when I’ve been away fighting in a Japanese city and I come back to the island I live in, in the pacific ocean, and its just monsters everywhere. Ghidorah, Godzooky, Mothra and the rest. Everyone is so monster-y and uncouth. This is why after a couple of years I go back out and flatten Kyoto again. Totally empathise.
I’m sorry but you’re too old for that. Something to keep in mind is that visiting has absolutely nothing to do with living somewhere Yeah I had the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this same experience as a teen. Made it my goal to live there and work. Succeeded for years while also coming to terms with the fact that there is no perfect place to live. I have heard this from most people who have lived abroad. When a couple I knew moved back they couldn’t get used to the idea that they would need 2 cars. International students here have said they don’t feel like the US is their home but they no longer feel like they belong in their home country. I get like this when I have to return to the UK from the US. I am way happier in the US. I just try to have some things to look forward to.
I felt like that pretty much after any trip I took before I decided to make travel my lifestyle. Now i never spend more than 2 months without seeing something new. But because I’m not rich I made the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this decision to work on cruise ships and sail around the world. Ended up moving to Europe in the pandemic too. All that being said, i think when you are traveling your brain is getting constantly stimulated and I think it’s normal to feel a little down when you go back home. Give yourself a couple weeks and you’ll probably feel better. Yep. I feel like I was made for Vienna, Austria. I’ve been back in the U.S. for 5 months and I still feel like I don’t fully belong in this Country. I understand being in Vienna was less stressful as it was primarily for vacation, but there were moments of stress and I did spend some hours working remotely, so I feel like I got a good sense of how much more life would be improved if I could live there. It might not be the place where you don’t belong (Mexico City), but the reality of your life that you’re coming back to that you’re not happy with. What is it you’re really not happy with? Everyone feels better on vacation because we leave that reality behind.:
Yeah I understand this. I visited Geneva/Switzerland only for a short while but I felt ‘homesick’ once I got back home, I just missed being there and the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this general feel of the place. Hard to pin it down to anything specific it just felt like home. Sometimes you just connect with a place in ways that are hard to understand. When I was at uni, many years ago now, I went to study abroad for a couple of months. It was an amazing experience that was completely life-changing for my mentality. I went again to the same city a year later and the novelty had worn off, and so the energy to create the experience I had had the year before. Some things you can really only experience once in life. I think it’s normal to have the feelings you’re having. I suggest you plan on going to Europe every year knowing you will have feelings of “withdrawal” upon your return. I also suggest you target one city to be your “home” while in Europe. As a Spanish speaker I suggest Valencia or Granada. From there traveling other European locations for very little money. You’ll garner a “rhythm” that will be positive to you. And do this alone or with a loved one that shares your values. Good Luck! I’m curious how old you are. It sounds like what you are experiencing could be signs of depression. It first affected me at 17yo, but can definitely appear later in life. Having a difficult time with your closest friend could absolutely be a trigger for an episode.
I have also had experiences of feeling “institutionalised” after a vacation, and I have felt incredibly lonely and disconnected on returning home. But those feelings would usually pass after a few days. If this has been going on longer than a few weeks I would strongly suggest having a chat to a doctor or therapist. I wish you well You’re not alone. I spent a term studying abroad and was never “home sick” until I came back to the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this states. After living there, it’s my life goal to move there; it felt like being a fish in the ocean instead of being a fish in a tank. I visit as often as I can and maintain fast friendships with people I met there. Yep. I lived abroad for a few years. Moved back home to be closer to family and I’m just depressed. I miss my old lifestyle that living abroad gave me. This is how I feel when I have to come home from a hunting trip or any wilderness adventure. No matter how bad the trip was, bad weather , delayed flights, sinking boats, it doesn’t matter. It’s always a let down to go come back in to town.
Was it your first international vacation? Maybe this trip has inspired you to shake your life up and change locations. I’ve lived in several countries and it is always an adventure. Look into employment opportunities in Europe that will allow you to live and work. You can always go home when and if you get homesick. It wasn’t, I did a similar trip but to different countries last year and also lived in Toronto for a year when I was younger but none of those times I came back with the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this blues. Something hit different this time and I can’t figure out what that is. Don’t have none of that. Well, my parents and pets of course, but no commitments or responsibilities like a spouse.
If it feels weird to you, then express that feeling to him to stop the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this texting in the most respectful and diplomatic way. Um your 35 asking a question about how to manage a relationship with the opposite sex while married on Reddit so….. He MIGHT be trying to control/keep tabs on his fiance by befriending her friends—in case he might need an “in” later down the line when he feels she might be hiding things from him. It’s a way to insert himself in other areas of her life that he might normally not have had access to, and possibly a way to influence his fiance by getting her friend on his side. While it’s not outright inappropriate, and very possibly innocent, it COULD be to soften you up towards telling him if things WERE to get too wild, so you’d be more prone towards telling him exactly what his fiance may have done to break his trust, and/or to imply/remind you that you’d also be culpable if things WERE TO get out of hand. By regularly texting you little things like that and asking you about innocuous topics, he MIGHT BE building a rapport with you in the hope that you might feel obligated/be more likely to be faithful to your friendship with him, not just automatically to his fiance, if ever the need might arise where he feels his fiance might be wronging him. IT COULD VERY WELL BE THAT HE WANTS TO GET TO KNOW HIS FIANCE’S FRIEND WHO IS IMPORTANT TO HER. IF that’s not the case, one alternate possibility is that it’s a subtle, round about ploy for control over his fiance, playing the long game. Just in case, I’d stay a little wary, especially about sharing things about his fiance with him, without express approval/confirmation from your friend first. Just until you know for sure I think that this guy may not have very conventional social skills or boundaries. I suspect that he may fall somewhere on the very high functioning autism scale. I could easily be wrong. But at the same time, I’ve seen people on this spectrum struggle to understand the nature of social relationships and boundaries. Some tend to insinuate themselves deeper into people’s lives than is appropriate. Though it is basically with no ill intent.
Nah it’s weird. Guys never text that much in general let alone a girl they barely know unless he had an agenda. I would feel similarly. Maybe I’m skeptical or paranoid vs the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this majority of the other commenters I’m seeing here, but I would also feel weird about it if the things he’s texting you about are just random and unnecessary, and especially if it’s more than once or twice. It might sound cold of me but I think those things are just better avoided. Your friendship is with her, and while I’m sure you’re delighted to get to know her partner, I feel thats most appropriate to be happening in group settings/parties/etc, not in private text chats. yeah, he’s closet creepy. many are like that. to be clear – He’d bang you if he thought no one would find out, kinda like a porn scenario for him. I have a neighbor like this – perfect in every way but fucking creepy sometimes. It’s weird he didn’t introduce himself when he first texted. He’s not 18 he’s almost 30 so come on. Op when it becomes clear he’s a total creep please update us!
IMO, he seems like a stalker who wants to keep tabs on his fiance and doesn’t trust her. Watch out. People seem nicer, than the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this true them comes out. I agree that it feels weird. My (F) husband and I are couple friends with another M/F couple. We have a 4 person group chat and if I want to talk to the M of our friend couple, or vice versa, we do so in the group chat. However, I text the F friend independently, and my husband texts the M friend independently. None of us are jealous or thinking we’re going to cheat on each other, but I would find it weird if my husband was texting my female friend (aside when they’re planning surprises for me, obviously;) ) frequently in the same way he texts just his own friends who he has established relationships with outside of us as a couple. For me, it seems like a sign of respect for your partner. If I ever do text his M friends (usually for a specific reason, such as they’re asking questions specific to my industry, or planning surprises for their F partners I’m friends with, etc), I make sure to mention it to him and let him know what we talked about. It just feels like an easy way to keep open communication and trust.
I find it odd for a different reason. He might not be trying to get with OP, but OP is not his friend, she is his wife’s close friend. It seems intrusive and could indicate controlling behavior tendencies. Why does he have to get closer to OP? Is it to keep an eye on OP, the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this influence she could have on his wife? I’ve seen relationships get wrecked because SO’s got too close. Ofc responsibility lies on people themselves but I would ask myself if that friendship is even worth the risk. Iunno it’s giving “Gen Z open relationship” vibes – like he’s putting feelers out there to set up a friendly 3-way down the road. Why would your friend give him your number? Weird. He’s flirting. He probably shouldn’t, but he’s young and doesn’t have that much self-control. Don’t be so uptight about it.
BTW, this does seem to bother you way more than would be normal, and the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this fact you’re showing these texts to your husband and a friend is also not really normal 🙂 You might need a chill pill in your life (I’m not trying to offend you, just recognizing the anxiety/paranoia). It feels to me like it may be an effort to control his fiance, by having direct interactions with her friends and telling you things such as “dont let her go crazy when im not there” Why not just text him and say “Please do not contact me, I feel weird about this.” Why do you need the internet to tell you how to interact with humans? I feel like he’s fishing to see if you bite. I’m a married man and I can’t think of too many situations where I would text a friend’s female SO. If he wants to talk to you it should be in person when your friend is there. Even if it’s innocent, this keeps everything transparent.
He’s into you. I’m 26 and happily engaged. The only people I actively engage in text conversation with is my fiance. Maybe a friend I haven’t caught up with in a while, but that lasts less than a day. Luckily, if you just don’t reply a couple times he will probably stop. And it wouldn’t come across rude or anything since it’s odd for him to text you in the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this first place. Time will tell I guess He could be into OP, but we really don’t have enough info to solidly make that claim. The only thing we have to go off of is that the friend gave him OP’s number and one example of a text message that wasn’t inappropriate. I assume OP is pretty. I assume this because she thinks this dude 11 years younger might be into her. If she thinks he might be it means he is. Dudes are almost always into chicks they talk to when they don’t have to talk to them. He’s going out of his way to be randomly flirty.
I mean…yeah, but that doesn’t mean that just because a dude talks to a woman, he’s trying to get in her pants. If it wasn’t just one off things like this and usually related to his fiance, then it’d be weird. I had a friend for a while, and when I met his wife we actually became pretty good friends and texted all the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this time, but it was only ever as friends. However, you need to make it clear to your friend that it’s a violation of trust to give out someone’s number without asking. If you’re ok with it then fine, I can promise you she will find out the hard way later in life if she does this with other ppl. I text my best friends wives / girlfriends, but mostly just sending memes and funny things that involve something about their partners. Like I have gamer friends who ignore their partners when we’re playing together, and see a meme about the same situation, then send it to them. Wouldn’t be much more than that. It’s important to be friendly to your friends partners, but to a point. As long as it’s not crossing any boundaries, I don’t see a problem.
I’d say not weird. I’m a heavy texter myself and if I think you’re my friend I’ll blow your shit up about the I like you alotl Shirt in contrast I will get this latest episode of TV if you’re down. I’m always the person that texts last in convos and I’m okay with that. With that being said if you engage further in convos and he’s actually trying to be a creep you’ll find out eventually. My buddies and I will occasionally text each others spouses and vice versa. Not weird imo. Half the time it’s because whatever SO never responds to literally anyone’s texts. If I need to get info about one of my best buddies it’s best to text his wife, if she needs to get info from him while the guys are out she’ll text one of us I think texts imply a closer relationship than if you were talking through DMs in some social media or other. You can’t ignore a text message the way you can with DMs, texts keep dinging until you read them. That is the thing I think is slightly unusual here – the choice of channel. That he would make conversation with you is not weird.
